I love everything unless it restricts me from using what skills I have. I love all kinds of science because it's the study of how we work. And yes Chem is essential because chemistry is the study of what everything is made of and how they interact you need that to understand how that creates a system
Dang the "more chemistry" portion really messed me up. I am currently a Biology major ex Biochemistry major because I realized how much I loved Biology while chemistry overall bored me and was a means to an end. I also love multiple disciplines of biology (micro, physiology, genetics, etc.) so at the beginning hearing that Biotech had multiple focused disciplines I was like "FINALLY I FOUND WHAT'S RIGHT FOR ME as I've been struggling to pick a single discipline for a career and pursue in grad school. Knowing that it's primary chemistry (which makes sense) really crumbled my path to sanctuary and now I'm back to square one. But, I do appreciate the transparency at least now know before pursuing it and then becoming depressed because it's not what I wanted to focus on. I really just don't have a passion for chemistry and can't relate to it as much as biology but in order to do what I want to do in the world of biology it requires a strong primary foundation of chemistry. The dilemma of me.
U r not thr only one. A friend of mine had the exact same problem, and then she dropped out and found a great traineeship and became a lab assistant, and is much happier now.... I would recommend everyone in your place to do what u did, just change your major or your academic path, instead of sitting on it till the bitter end and scattering your mentalhealth over smthing u dont really like..... Great for you man, and wish u all the very best for ur future carrier....👍 And really glad to hear that u got smthing out of this video😃
This is literally how I feel rn I'm currently a biology major in my 2nd year going into my spring semester and my biology grades have been subpar but my chem grades have been worse. I tried aiming to become a doctor but now I have lost it and it comprised my mental health as well. I'm trying to figure out biotechnology or bioengineering cause right now I have test anxiety and I have an interest in the chem and bio but my grades don't translate it. I don't understand what to do
@@ps2gamer350 Yeah, thats a difficult position to be in. I would suggest that u take it slow, maybe take some time off, if u can. But look for a suitable field, bearing atleast the next 30 years. Wish u all the best man.... Hope u get through it.
@@BT.ed9 yeah i decided after talking to my advisors to try the biotechnology route. I still am in the same classes but I feel like although grades are not there I can work on them and improve them. I just think that this career is also a highly profitable career comparable to the doctor with masters. I think I'm gonna take my time and enjoy it and aim for this career
This was super helpful!! I'm want to get into biotechnology since it seems really interesting but since I've been doing arts this whole time, I dont have as much support from my teachers as I could of if I was studying a science. Videos like this are really helping me with making this huge descision so thank you!!
thanks a lot for this video. do stop and keep it up. you help many of us due to the Biotechnology major. what a man with attitude. may Allah bless you !!!!!
1)What topics of chemistry should we learn before entering biotechnology? 2)what topics of maths should be good at? 3) which topics of physics should we be good at ? I want to just give a rough look before entering, so please so mention
In chemistry elemental behavious from important elements like H, N,O, C, Halogens, S, and basic brhaviour of groups, alkenes and alkanes, stociometry, types of chem.reactions.... Maths, differentials, Logarithmus, integrals and simple calculations..... In Physics, thermodynamics, waves, ideal and real gas, and basic laws and principles of E transmission, transfer etc
Am from Ethiopian I have degree in biotechnology I love biothec because a very interesting study & I respect you in Ethiopian there is no job opportunity in biothecnology
You can get into some other field as a biotechnologist. In food, chemical, or pharma. I made a video on the range of jobs for biotechnologists. U can check that oit if if want👍
yeah, i was shocked to see that biology exams were like... 10 on 24? ahahahah, so much chemistry (4 exams: inorganic, organic, physical chemistry and industrial biotech, not counting two of biochemistry), 2 exams of IT, 3 of Statistics, 2 of analysis and physics. I chose biotech because i feared engineer was tough but jesus christ biotech is on the same level ahahahahah PS: Im focusing on bioinformatics/industrial biotech, so i have way more chemistry and IT exams compared to other courses like medical or farmaceutical biotech
Just saw ur comment. Sorry for the very delayed reply. Yes theres more of that, the Things u just mentioned.... And its a fun surprise for most of us😅 And bioinfo/industrial biotech is a nice field. Wish u all the very best mate👍
hello. First of all, I would just like to say thank you for making this video. It gave me an inside into biotech since it's something I just recently considered taking for my degree. So here's my dilemma, I've been given an offer to either continue my bachelors degree in Chemical engineering or Biotechnology. I actually applied for MBBS but was rejected and was given the offer of Biotechnology instead. I've done a bit of research on the requirements and what is to be expected academically. However, Im still unsure about its future prospect. Like whether it'll be relevant or high in demand in the future. and whether itll pay well. Cause Ive always been more inclined in Science (bio, chem, physics) rather than maths which is why Im hesitating on taking the chemical engineering offer. I know that we should always follow what your passionate about, but what im truly passionate about got rejected😂💁♀ So might as well pursue something that gives better prospect.
First of you can go to medical school with biotech degree. Second of all, as long as earth exist biotech will become more relevant each year. Chech about the history till date how the field has been developing greatly. Believe me if you've done more research and to the way the world is going ,biotec will always be a demanding job. I'd say go for it,I had a degree in economics now switching to biotech. Note: I studied chemistry, physics, maths and bio in high school.
There has been an oversight on my Part here.... I apologize..... Biotech will always be in demand. And carrier prospects are good but obviously different then human medicine. U might get paid different, but it depends on alot of other factors like the biotech industry etc. (U can check the Video, on this topic). But u font get paid as well as an MD. Chrmical engineering has alot of maths structured in it, but so does that biotechnology in most cases. But its basic maths, u wont have to do alot of high level maths, so i would recommend biotechnology to thosr who are hesitant cuz of maths.... Basic calculus and statistics and u r good..... Hope this was helpful👍
As far as i know, u can only work in the lab, and maybe do some training(smthing like a traineeship). But u cant study Human medicine with a biotech degree. Maybe there are some exceptions, but i m not sure abt whether u can go to med school with a biotech degree. Btw. U can go to med school, and study biotechnology or similar fields, like medical technology etc. (Cuz of some have the departments structured that way) But as far as i know, u cant be a MD if u dont start human medicine from the beginning. But i might be completely wrong. Would appreciate if u send me some info, and inform me abt this possibility..... But I agree a 100% with everything else u said. And thanks for engaging mate👍 appreciate that...
I wouldnt say "the best", but one with one of thr biggest variety, and not just focused on A specie, or a class of microorganism. The best i would say would be molecular biology/gentechnology. With biotechnology u could become bioengineer, but with with gentech/molecular biology u r definately a genetic engineer...... (In my opinion)
Hi. Im not that good on learning biology or chemistry and nobody thinks i can do it but i like biotech. I have the feeling like i cant do it and thats the only thing i like i dont like anything else. What can i do ?😔
I can only say for myself, if i dont like anything it feels harder to learn for that topic/module. And that makes it abit harder i think. But still doable...... I think in that case i would go with my gut feeling. My Suggestion, talk to people, look into topics and subjects that you dont like in more detail, and find out if that can be changed. And think abt the next 20 years, like are you ready to counter these topics in the future if that happens. And look for similar fields that to some degree may solve this dilemma..... Wish you all the very best mate
improving chemistry i would say learn the basics that u were taught at school. 11-13th grade chemistry is more than enough to built ur foundation. And i think for trainee programs u mostly learn about the job when u are in that program. And dont read much into it, you mostly learn about it when u r inside the program, cuz u start to understand the the market, once u r in it. a tip, try to google and look into the description for the program and the handbook helps alot as well. I would google the program and learn as much as i can, if i were in your place. hope that helps
I LOVE BIOTECHNOLOGY and i did my Bachelor's degree in it but here in my country Pakistan there is no scope of it but i learned it in depth and worked with passion but now i am disappointed 😢😮I want foreign scholarship to utilize my concepts and explore it more and at the end became able to do a related job.
In the US, canada, australia, china, Germany, denmark, UK and some more its much better then most other countries. I would recommend trying it in these countries.....
hello, thx for the video. I have a question: So im really interested in Biology which is how i found out about this course, but im worrying about the chemistry part, since ive only had chemistry in school for a few years. In the B.sc, do we start with the basics again or is it necessary to know a lot of stuff about chemistry already?
The basics are always repeated yes, but if u have the basic understanding of chrmistry from the school, it is enough to start..... But in Biotechnology there is more chemistry then anything else, i think for d Starter u must keep that in mind....
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience about this. I've been interested in this career for a long time so your videos are a big help to me.
Your all videos are on point but you haven't uploaded for along time. I am planning to take admission in BTech biotech and I am interested in research work. But have never done that.if you are a newbie how can you start your research? Please help
Thank u for ur kind comment. I just saw it🙈 U always start mostly just like everybody else, usually general biotech. But u can always look into modulhandbook, u can get an idea if there is something tobstart with. Unis do have different modules to offer to some extant. But masters is where u differenziate
Hi after completing by btech biotech in India is it easy to secure seat in Germany for mtech biotech and how much it would cost and is German language is necessary to get placed in German University plzzz reply. Waiting for reply and I subscribed you channel 1year ago
Sorry for the delayed reply. Many good comments just got under.... In germany most of the times german is required yes. The question about cost is difficult ti answer. Its is a hugely variable componant. But australia might be easier then germany in terms of language. Not sure tho.... And thanks for staying on the channel. Appreciate it🙏
@The BioTech Guy What topics of biology is needed the most? As you said there is more chemistry than anything else? So how much bio is there? Is bio going to be difficult to handle? I love chem by the way. I like chem more than bio and it's not like I'm not interested in bio. I like bio but not that much like any other subjects I do. Will it be a problem for me in future? As I'm considering to take biotechnology for my undergrad. Because I don't like memorize stuffs that much especially related to bio and compare to chem and I can easily memorize the reactions. How much math will be there? I heard just in the first semester there will be math and bit of physics then the rest of courses will be related to bio and chem. Please do reply as I badly need your opinion on this.
I ll say it like this. ~40% chemistry, ~30% Biology, then physics, maths, info smtimes etcetc. Not too much but smthings u will have to memorize, but thats normal.... If chrmistry and maths combi isnt too scary for u, then go for it
im about to start my first year in poland in october, im very scared cuz i was never good in chemistry, i loved biology and genetics tho, i know it will be hard but i hope i can handle it and learn to love chemistry too
I get that. But to put your mind at ease, you will have the feeling that almost 80-90% of the chemistry you are already familiar with, at least in the first two semesters. After that you are kinda used to the program and you will just go along with every chemistry topic. Offcourse there will be some harder then the other, but it is not so hard that you cant get through. I would suggest you do everything on time, and dont put off modules and subjects. You will get through it, every bitoech student does. WIsh you all the best mate...
Hi! Thanks for this video, I was reluctantly thinking about going for computer science although I'm not the biggest fan of it. But I would like to ask if I studied arts during my high school times, do you think it is possible to go for biotech degree when I didn't even choose science stream during high school days? Hope you can reply thanks!
I dont think so, there might be some programs for people that would like to make that lateral jump in career direction. Normally that wouldnt be possible, as far as i know. To my knowledge, you ought to have your schooling in sciences that would lead to a similar direction as your sought out field.
Hi , im first year biotechnology student . I'm studying it as a substitute to chemistry major. Im more into chemistry than biology and i have some difficulties in memorizing terminologies . The only field of interest in biology is genetics and the chemistry related courses to biotechnology. However i think the applications of biotechnology in the industrial field are really interesting .do you think it's the right major for me though?
Terminologies shouldnt be a problem. Important onces will be memorized, no later than when u r an employee at a company. And yes, industrial BT/infustrial applications of the field, is a nice field. I do recommend it, and by ur text, i definitely am on the same page as u. But as u pass through later semesters/years, u will have more info and understanding of things, which will help u choose/ solidify ur opinion. Hope it helps
Some things you could do just until you figure it oit. Internahip at a company, work at a company, starting masters, start learning an important skill like Programing, maybe take a long vacation sothat you are ready to invest more energy and time for other Things afterwards....
hello and good morning from Nigeria. I am an employee researcher working with the National Veterinary research Institute in Nigeria. I am an enthusiast of biochemistry even while studying veterinary medicine in the university. I love biotechnology and intend to build my career in the field of biotechnology/Vaccinology. Research funding is not on the priority list in Nigeria and am really passionate in advancing my research in biotechnology especially in Vaccinology. how can I get research partner elsewhere to be interested in my proposals and probably secure working equipment for my lab??
That is something very specific, and sadly not my strongsuit. I would suggest though that you try to find companies/ universities/ institutes that work with nigerian companies, and you get people visiting to those companies in Nigeria. Then you can write proposal to the company in that country, maybe build a relation/ convince them to give you the oppertunity to present your proposal. Maybe that way you find someone who canfund your research from someplace else. Or you can also write an email to companies that do fund research in 3rd world countries, which some companies/universities (harvard uni, Bonn Uni, GSK etc) do. I dont know if that helps, but i hope it does and wish you all the very best.
So I’m thinking about biotech but I’m not really inlove with biology or chemistry. I’ve always wanted to study it tho and I’ve only took one yeah in highschool. So do you think it’s a good idea to major in it?
Will improve your job Prospects, since biotech has a much wider spectrum. You can my video on job spectrum for biotechnologists, and biotech has more practicalwork in it. So i would say its a good decision to consider. Hope that will Help you the way you expected it.
I would say, it is A way, but not the best. For that u need to persue Mol-biology/gentechnology. Or microbiology..... In biotech yes, but consideribly less as compared to those......
Hey there, thanks for this video, O found it helpful. I have a question though, can you suggest some colleges that are known for their biotech studies like good colleges? Also does it matter where you take your degree from?
Doesnt really matter (in theory). But if u graduated from a small campus in a small town, then they would prefer someone from a big, known uni. So depends on your Situation. And as for some prominent colleges, it would include tu dresden (mol. Bioengineering/biotech) hochschule mannheim, hochschule aachen, FA jena... Hope it helped👍
Through biotech you can yes, but i think there is a separate field for that. And thibgs like stemcell research etc can also lead to that. But i am not an expert on this topic. As far as i can tell, there are many ways to get there.... Hope it helped mate
Okay so i have a question! I love biology, genetics, microbiology and all but organic chemistry is a big no for me, there're certain branches of chemistry that i might like i don't know about biochemistry havent been introduced to it yet. So should i go for biotechnology?
Organic chemistry is kind of important since many different subjects depend on organic chem knowledge. If you can buckle up and just get through it now, you might be able to avoid it to some degree in the future (not totally avoidable). Like you can get into a field that is not heavily OC based. But i would say, in almost all the Med/bio- interdisciplinary fields have some degree of OC. So keeping that in mind you should make you decision. Best of luck
Yes I also want to be a biotechnologist but are there qick carriers to persue immediately after de course or even through de course but wen I hve some where I work
hi, i have social studies bachelor degree but i want to study biochem or biotech, is that possible? i want to pursue my (actual) long term passion and interests, i did went to a science high school but went to the "wrong" major. im actually really happy that there is a lot of chemistry, i don't really like memorization (which biology mostly is), i like problem solving and equations better sometimes. so i was torn between chemistry or bio, or engineering, but hearing this makes me think, maybe i should go to biotech since there's a lot of chemistry anyway
Generally speaking u cant, sadly. Maybe if u do some extra courses/internships then maybe yes, but usually its not possible to switch from social studies. Sry for the disappointment mate😔
@@BT.ed9 no it's ok im planning to retake bachelors. ik there's no other way. im willing to take the long and painful route. i really don't like the industry i was in. and it's ok if im the weirdo oldie by myself. i've seen similar stories of people becoming doctors at 38, entering med school at 29 etc some even at 50s. i just have to find a univ that will accept me, im working hard on my a levels right now 😃 we only have one life. i don't wanna be like "oh i should've just pursued that" and cry and mope all my life away. i have to make the change no matter how hard or even if people think its stupid or impossible (ps i am not that old). good luck to whatever you're pursuing too btw no matter how big or small!
@@felix-xd4mx you will see some people in their mid to late 20s in biotech as well. Some people have different/ harder background stories then others, a good friend of mine studied chemistry, did and internship, and then started biotechnology. He was 27 at the time. Dont worry about it. Myself had to pause and work full time and a weekend job due to financial problems. Some people have it different in life. Wish you all the very best mate. Do let me know how it goes.
you are talking about biotechnologists which means phd holders but what about the life of a person who is a graduate or masters in biotech i wanna know what their life's like and what do lab tech do and other occupations i really wanna know
Lab assistents/-techs mostly organise the lab, keep the inv full and manage the lab. Do certain mostly repetitive experiments etc. Ofc depending on the type of lab/department and ur position as there is a difference in the status of the Assistent as well
My school may not let me change from physics to bio. I have Math and Chemistry in high level though. Can I still enter biotechnology with Math and Chem HL, without Bio?
Difficult, but there might be some universities that offer Biotechnology as B.Eng. try to find one not with BSc. But with BE.... Or look for bioengineering, which mostly is almost the same biotechnology.....
Its almost always better with a Masters Degree, and with biotechnology, you will be well off financially, but a normal biotechnologist With a masters is not amongst the best earners, at least not in germany. In the US it can be different, in many instances.
Could u plz give details on life or day to day activities of a biotechnologist?i am an MBBS dr i always liked genetics and microbiology things so i want to do MSC in biotechnology but the way u r saying life is quite boring and tiresome in this field.. seating 18-20hrs in the lab for someone extrovert and fun loving will i fall short in passion and enthusiasm in midway?? or should I stay in clinical line?
Nono, as far as i know u almost never HAVE to work 18 hours. In europe the maximum amount of hours u are usually allowed are 12 (in some countries might be higher or lower), but the normal work day is 8-9 hrs. (for me mostly around 8.5 hrs plus the 2 hours of dialy travel to and from work). It is tiresome during studies, but the work can be fun, and it is fun. It does get stressful, just like in any other job, but thats normal i guess. And Day to day activities may vary depending on your personality, ur job, ur inner circle etc. I intend to do that about myself, but dont know when exectly. If the field is exciting to you, i would suggest doing it. But As an MD, u get payed way more then as a biotechnologist i Germany. For biotechnology i would recommend the US. best of Luck to u
There is some... basic physics, that you will also be needing in Subjects and topics Like physical chem, physical biochem, or whereever u need to consider the physical aspects of things (enzymes etc). But not too complex, and definitely doable
Thank you for your useful information.I have a question. Recently I start study Biotechnology for Bachelor's degree.Which skills should I learn? Please help and guide me if you know :)❤
Skills that will be taught during your studied, but gor something that you could do would be, start to read and understand published papers. Scientific Literature and papers reading and understanding, would go a long way.
Articles and papers can be searched by name of the topic. Since the field is very broad, i would suggest you search and read on topics that interest you. For instance, specialized medicine, role of bacteria in plant based high protein/glutein free products like spooni mlbles, desserts etc
Can be, but biotech is more diverse, so there might be some topics that might not be as easy. you can surely take some cps from tech biology into biotech. Jope that helped
I am planning to do BS Biotech from NUST and I'm reallyy confused about this discipline bcz i do know that i will like it but everyone around me says yhat Biotech has no scope and you'll forever be jobless amd even if u get a job it wont pay enough...can u pls guid3 me about Biotech's scope
I dont anything abt NUST, but i dont think you r going to be jobless. But biotech market may not be as developed in some countries. The scope of a field depends heavily on the demand of services or products of that field. Biotech products are in demand, and there are Developments being made as we speak.... I would suggest looking into biotech products and companies. And in which spectrum biotech products are being used. That will help your prespective. And if its attractive for you, others opinions shouldnt matter to a larger extent
Hello thanks for such informative video I just have a query that am i eligible for a job in USA or Australia with Indian biotech undergraduate certificate??? Or or is necessary to have the graduate degree of the country in which I want a job please explain .......
In the us fore sure. By that, i m certain as is in australia. But the question is, was ur undergrad 3.5-4 years long. If yes, then it shouldnt be a problem. U might prove ur english proficiency though. Ielts)/tofel or equiv..........👍
Hi, at first your video was the best thanks for that, I just wanna ask a question, I’m really interested in genetics and biology, do you think that this major can be ok for me? Also I wanna study it in China, and one more question is that can we rely on a good salary in the future and good position?
Yes its a nice major, and china in that regard is good. Some of their boundries/ ethical aspects of the field might be questionable, but as a whole not bad at all. Best of luck and thanks for watching👍
I dont think so. There are intertwining topics and definitely FIELDS, which lead to food technology (food sciences) but both biotech plus food sciences at the same time as majors, i dont know how that would be possible, or Institutions would offer/accept....
I’m studying plant science and biotechnology.Am in my third year at university few months to go for my industrial training can I do it at quality control laboratory
I have done Bsc zoology for my bachelors with less practical knowledge due to covid we had to do the study online. I want to take Msc biotechnology for my masters. Can you guide me.
Might be possible. I know that some unis offer some entrance test for people from related but other fields. In some unis you might just apply directly just like other biotechnologists would do. I suggest you email dome universities that offer biotech ms, and ask them directly. Hope that helped👍
Hey, your video was very impressive to me because I am considering to take a masters degree in Biotechnology, which is a coursework-based rather than research intensive. Do you think it makes a huge difference by taking the coursework-based program instead of the latter? Moreover, is it a good idea going through a masters degree. My profound goal is to just get a job with an ok salary, making it possible for me to do what I like. Currently got an offer at UniMelb (in Australia) and am waiting for the commencing sem to come. Before making my decision do you think I am on the right track? I am afraid to invest my money and time for things that appear pretty much meaningless. I have seen many pessimistic comments and posts that doing the masters. Sorry for kinda waffling myself too much. Looking forward to seeing your reply! Thanks.
Your uncertinty isnt unreasonable. For EU and US i van say that masters makes a big difference. In my experience and to the best of my knowledge, having a masters regardless of the focus elevates your position at a company in both your work and ofc in your dalary. And it it makes a difference ofc if your masters is in research/ course work in some instances, but cases like these are rare, and the perks of having a masters at all out-weighs the cases where it would pull you down for not having it in research by alot. I would always suggest doing a master regardless of the focus/ type of your course. And you do have to remember that most people talk from their own experiances instead of looking at things objectively. For your goals i would say it it does make sense to do the masters.
Sorry for the delayed replay but hope it was abit helpful👍 Just a tip. Look for biotech jobs that you would want to do. Look at the job descriptions and see what they require/ prefer, you will get the answer to whether it would make sense to invest in the time in your masters.....
@@BT.ed9 Thank you so much for the effort you put into the reply. It kinda gives me the motivation to continue studying. I hope all things go well for whatever you are doing, will pray for both of us to achieve our best!
If u mean human medicine, then i would go with medicine, cuz doctors are always needed. Qith biotech the problem is that, not even a typical biotechnologist can end up at a position for a biotechnologist. Likr a biochemist, microbiologist, analyist etc..... Hope u understand what i mean.... But i would go with my own interests and strengths....
Did you mean microbiology, biochemistry is also same as biotechnology or biotechnology as more stand than them and pls which is better in mls and biotechnology Compliment of the season
You can. And if you look into the companies plans and future projects, most of them are focusing increasingly more Bio pharma, which is biotechnology (pharma biotech). So yes it is a nice field. But pharmacy also leads (can lead) to the biotech Industry. Both nice choices in my opinion
Yes there is. Alot in some cases..... Fluid dynamics, physical biochem/physical chem, have aspects of physics/thermodynamics principles, and eng principles in process technology wtc
In the pharma industry pretty similar. But a biotechnologist at a food company will probably be less. There might be a small variation in the numbers, but most starting salaries are around thr same range (very different for experianced ones). U can check em out in the 2 videos abt the salaries that i made. Hopefully it will provide some insights....
@@BT.ed9 Sir, I'm a bioscience student meaning I dropped maths in 12. Since there is bsc in biotechnology and btech in biotechnology(engineering) which I am eligible for both, which one should I choose? I will study my bachelor's in India and am planning to study masters and work abroad in the field of biotech. Any advice?
Hi there thanks for the video but i have one question since days i want to study biotech as my degree also want to study interior designing then i came to know that interior designer must have done a degree for jobs idk what to do ?
Thanks fow watching, Now, if you like biotech more, then i would definately recommend Biotech. Keep in mind, you will have to work in the same area for atleast next 35 Years. So choose the one you like better. In biotech, outside of the US, you cannot make huge amounts of money, its unlikely. Interior design is better with regards to the financial wellness. luxury is getting more and more attention and people always want the best things. I can recommend Interior design with HOME AUTOMATION TECHNOLOGY. A friend of mine workds there and earns more then I do, and he only had a Trainieeship, and didnt even study. BUT i would choose the one that i find attractive and more interesting
Hi, need your help, finished high school as an average student. I am not so good in physics, chemistry or biology. I dont even know what course to take up for university, what do i do?
@@ChiAAVISUALS I have no idea about arts. but u can try health/ health management sciences, sports sciences, nutrition sciences, health psychology, there is like health and social management (some general more theoretical, and abit easy ones) something with psychology, or more scientific work (more hands on/practicle work) like biochemistry, microbiology biotechnology.
BRO I HAVE DONE BACHELORS IN ELECTRONICS ENGG FROM NED UET,KARACHI. CAN I SWITCH TO BIOTECHNOLOGY IN MASTERS? AFTER TAKING SOME PRE REQUISITED UNDER GRAD COURSES??? PLZ REPLY. I WANT TO DO MASTERS FROM GERMANY.
If any university allows you to do that, then yes, but i don't have any personal experience with such a situation. I would recommend U ask your university about this specific situation. But if it is possible, there might be some preconditions. Best of luck to u mate
I am currently preparing to get admission in the MBBS but I am more interested in biotechnology, I love biology and it's chemistry But I don't know how to say this to my parents and also I'm confused how to get into a college, I am actually from India but I want to study abroad because there are no better colleges here. Please could you recommend a solution for this? And also if I can get admission abroad then are there any scholarship programs by which I can afford those ?
I would tell my parents abt basic applications of biotech. E.g. biopharmaceuticals that the MDs are able to prescribe. Different methods e.g. mris etc, machines used at hospitals etc. And if they know smthing abt the big companies, show them, or tell them to look into the big biotech/pharma companies like Jnj, eli lilly , roche..... But i would sit them down, and explain to them in a calm manner, what i like and that i would rather do smthing else.... Explain the benefits and the job markets that are bigger and not that saturated as MDs.
Regarding the second part. In europe specially in germany, as far as i know, there are almost no scholarships for bachelors Programms. In north america canada and the us, there are some..... but i dont know much abt scholarship programms. Sry mate.... But best of luck to you. Let me know how it turns out with ur parenst👍
I dont know, but i think not. General biotech studies is more Pharma products and diagnostics for bio-pharma products oriented, but would like to know the answer as well, if u find it out. thanks in advance....
Thanks for the video,my questions are 1.is it possible to work while studying biotech 2.what is meant by English profession test if applying for scholarship 3.like I love biotech n really wanna do it but how hard is it
i’m curious for number one too! i heard STEM majors are usually busy spending loads of time in labs, so I wonder if its possible to have part time while studying in uni
Thanks for watching🙏 1. Yes it is possible but it will take longer to complete, and could be abit more challenging in my experiance.... 2. English proficiency i think u mean, that means u need to take an internationally recognized test, which proves that u have sufficient grip on the language and u can study communicate easily. 3. It really depends on each person. because its a mixture of alot of other subjects/branches different people find different subjects difficult. But if u give it enough time and put in the work, u will get through it.
@@samithhs1841 its for both biotechnology has 2 streams : genetic engineering and biochemical engineering no matter what course you choose you'll have to learn chemistry .
I like in the same way neuroscience and astronomy, so I want to choose a bachelor in which I can work either physics (...astronomy, cosmology) or neurosciences. Is there a career that you recommend me with a good monetary income?
Is biotechnology exchangeable with biomanufacturing? I think biotechnology need an advanced degree to have as career while biomanufacturing is a start to an entry level biotechnology career. With a degree in biomanufacturing, will I be able to work independently as part of a team? Or, do you have to work in a group with others? I want a job where I work independently as part of a team.
Depends. In analytics of any sort, its nice but has to be on a similar pace for approval of the whole sample, thats how it is managed. All Parameters analysis have to have a managed flow, from start to thr end, so that many can work and finish at the end. In individual experimentation, u r working alone eg. Testing/development but u do have a timeline. In that case u r working wirh the approval/ overwatch from ur teamlead/boss etc. It is diffficult to answer, but working in team is not bad. It depends on ur position/lab/ etcetc
Demands for sure given that the market is growing at a very nice trajectory. Unions i have no idea, at least not here. U can look that up by looking to job offers, which biotechnologists are qualified to do. Just an FYI, i made a video on the Types of jobs that biotechnologists are qualified for. U can watch if u like. ua-cam.com/video/rTnxIfpaX3w/v-deo.html Hope that helps
From some unis they do, others offer it as a BSc. I suggest looking into the degree programs from universities that you are interested in. Hope it helped
@@BT.ed9 cause my GPA is average but for my college I didn't see anything for grade requirements but my logic is that if I continue what grades should I aim for then I mean As but like usually I get b- or c+ for the bio/chrm classes
I love everything unless it restricts me from using what skills I have. I love all kinds of science because it's the study of how we work. And yes Chem is essential because chemistry is the study of what everything is made of and how they interact you need that to understand how that creates a system
Couldnt agree more...
How's biochemistry related to biotechnology
sir please do keep creating more contents like this on biotech field , its really interesting and helpful to all those aspiring in this field .

True and totally agreed👆
yeah, i was shocked to see that biology exams were like... 10 on 24? ahahahah, so much chemistry (4 exams: inorganic, organic, physical chemistry and industrial biotech, not counting two of biochemistry), 2 exams of IT, 3 of Statistics, 2 of analysis and physics. I chose biotech because i feared engineer was tough but jesus christ biotech is on the same level ahahahahah
PS: Im focusing on bioinformatics/industrial biotech, so i have way more chemistry and IT exams compared to other courses like medical or farmaceutical biotech
Just saw ur comment. Sorry for the very delayed reply.
Yes theres more of that, the Things u just mentioned.... And its a fun surprise for most of us😅
And bioinfo/industrial biotech is a nice field. Wish u all the very best mate👍
Thanks a lot sir, am currently an undergrad of biotechnology and this video really helped me
I m glad. Thanks for watching🙏
Is biotechnology the best stepping stone to becoming an genetic engineer?
I wouldnt say "the best", but one with one of thr biggest variety, and not just focused on A specie, or a class of microorganism.
The best i would say would be molecular biology/gentechnology.
With biotechnology u could become bioengineer, but with with gentech/molecular biology u r definately a genetic engineer...... (In my opinion)
What should I do, BTECH Biotech or BSC Biotech? I want to start a startup that uses cell regeneration to solve a particular disease.
Thank you for the precious informations ❤
Kind of you, thanks.
Wish you all the very best mate
this was really helpful! thanks
but how can we improve our chemistry ? and how can we become a trainee when we don't know anything about the job?
improving chemistry i would say learn the basics that u were taught at school.
Thanks so much, bro. You have really smashed it, but can you make for me a tutor or video on how someone can get more interested in biotechnology?
Thanks mate, and will do👍

I LOVE BIOTECHNOLOGY and i did my Bachelor's degree in it but here in my country Pakistan there is no scope of it but i learned it in depth and worked with passion but now i am disappointed 😢😮I want foreign scholarship to utilize my concepts and explore it more and at the end became able to do a related job.
In the US, canada, australia, china, Germany, denmark, UK and some more its much better then most other countries. I would recommend trying it in these countries.....
I'm confused what should I do biotechnology or biochemistry.
hello, thx for the video.

Hello I'm from India too i just finished my 12th and I'm thinking of doing biotechnology what's your thought on this course

@@BT.ed9 Thank you sir for replying! I'll definitely check this video out.
I can relate to you . I'm into chemistry too more than biology and find difficulties in memorizing terms ...etc related to biology.
im about to start my first year in poland in october, im very scared cuz i was never good in chemistry, i loved biology and genetics tho, i know it will be hard but i hope i can handle it and learn to love chemistry too

A good idea yea for sure. But only if u like it, and dont get permanently discouraged by it along the way
What advice can you give to someone who studied zoology and wants to go into biotechnology as a master's degree?
Will improve your job Prospects, since biotech has a much wider spectrum. You can my video on job spectrum for biotechnologists, and biotech has more practicalwork in it. So i would say its a good decision to consider. Hope that will Help you the way you expected it.
Is biotechnology a good way to get your foot in the genetics career path doorway?
Please can I continue to study imaging after biotechnology and molecular biology degree??
I need to work on my math skills.
Good luck!
Thank You Sir,
Am interested in Biotechnology but I never majored in physics..is it going to be hard for me or.
That could be a Challenge.....
If i wanted to research in reverse aging what should I study in degree btech oor bsc
Oh okay ! Thankyou so much this sure did helped a lot
Do let me know how it goes.
you are talking about biotechnologists which means phd holders
but what about the life of a person who is a graduate or masters in biotech
i wanna know what their life's like
and what do lab tech do
and other occupations
i really wanna know
It s mostly for undergrads and starters..... And some for graduate students....
Yess can u please ans this question i'm going through same scenario
Difficult, but there might be some universities that offer Biotechnology as B.Eng. try to find one not with BSc. But with BE.... Or look for bioengineering, which mostly is almost the same biotechnology.....
Thanks for your good content.
Is the future bright for a skilled person with a master degree? I mean financially, getting a well payed job
For biotechnology i would recommend the US.
best of Luck to u
is there much physics or engineering involved in biotech? I've never studied those areas.
There is some... basic physics, that you will also be needing in Subjects and topics Like physical chem, physical biochem, or whereever u need to consider the physical aspects of things (enzymes etc). But not too complex, and definitely doable
Thank you so much! @@BT.ed9

Thank god it is;’t that insightful! I have been looking for this question and thanks for such a good answer
great video
Thank you for your useful information.I have a question. Recently I start study Biotechnology for Bachelor's degree.Which skills should I learn? Please help and guide me if you know :)❤
Skills that will be taught during your studied, but gor something that you could do would be, start to read and understand published papers. Scientific Literature and papers reading and understanding, would go a long way.
Hi, can you suggest me some articles that i can read beforehand/simply go through on Biotechnology before my actual bachelor's degree begins?
Articles and papers can be searched by name of the topic. Since the field is very broad, i would suggest you search and read on topics that interest you. For instance, specialized medicine, role of bacteria in plant based high protein/glutein free products like spooni mlbles, desserts etc
I have studied a diploma in Applied Biological Technology., is it can be easy to study biotechnology
@@BT.ed9 thank u so much
please i have a question. WHICH ONE IS BETTER, biochem or biotech?
Both have their places and they converge in many instances. But biotech dor aure is more diverse
I would say biotech. Just because it is very broad

I do I need to study computer programming to get in this field?
Not necessarily. Only if u want to go in that direction..... For general biotechnology, no....
Can I study biotechnology and food science at once together
Or take them both as a career at once.?
I dont think so. There are intertwining topics and definitely FIELDS, which lead to food technology (food sciences) but both biotech plus food sciences at the same time as majors, i dont know how that would be possible, or Institutions would offer/accept....
Thanks
That was really helpful

Sorry for the delayed replay but hope it was abit helpful👍
Just a tip.
Thank you. Keep me Posting and let me know how it worked out👍
is biotechnology better than mbbs? what do you think? I guess it will have more scope in the future than the doctory
Did you mean microbiology, biochemistry is also same as biotechnology or biotechnology as more stand than them and pls which is better in mls and biotechnology
Compliment of the season
I have pursued my bachleor degree in Pharmacy . Can I directly go to this field?? Wanted to ask is it good for me??
You can. And if you look into the companies plans and future projects, most of them are focusing increasingly more Bio pharma, which is biotechnology (pharma biotech). So yes it is a nice field. But pharmacy also leads (can lead) to the biotech Industry.
Both nice choices in my opinion
Thank you Sir
Is there any use of Physics in biotechnology.
Yes there is. Alot in some cases..... Fluid dynamics, physical biochem/physical chem, have aspects of physics/thermodynamics principles, and eng principles in process technology wtc
@@BT.ed9 ok, thankyou so much for the reply.
I'm a pharmacist who wants to pursue a career in biotechnology. May I ask how the salary is compared to that of a pharmacist?
In the pharma industry pretty similar. But a biotechnologist at a food company will probably be less. There might be a small variation in the numbers, but most starting salaries are around thr same range (very different for experianced ones). U can check em out in the 2 videos abt the salaries that i made. Hopefully it will provide some insights....
Can you work part time while studying biotechnology
Yes, thats what i did, and still m doing. But it gets hard sometimes and u will need longer to complete ur studies....
Thanks fow watching,
Now, if you like biotech more, then i would definately recommend Biotech.
Hello. For that i would need more info. Like what acually interests you? And which field? Studying or a traineeship would also do?
@@BT.ed9 I think I love arts but not in it's entirety. I love science too
@@ChiAAVISUALS I have no idea about arts. but u can try health/ health management sciences, sports sciences, nutrition sciences, health psychology, there is like health and social management (some general more theoretical, and abit easy ones) something with psychology, or more scientific work (more hands on/practicle work) like biochemistry, microbiology biotechnology.
@@BT.ed9 thank you so much, this was helpful. You just confirmed something for me.
@@ChiAAVISUALS Glad to help. Best of Luck
What level of mathematics is in a biotechnology degree?
Mostly basic. Basic understanding of topics like Differentials, integrals logs, functions etc.
I am currently preparing to get admission in the MBBS but I am more interested in biotechnology, I love biology and it's chemistry
But I don't know how to say this to my parents and also I'm confused how to get into a college, I am actually from India but I want to study abroad because there are no better colleges here.
Those biotech focus more on organic chemistry?
Yes. It has a big role to play in the whole thing
Sir,isn't the student from biotechnology 's degree can be a medical laboratory technologists ?
I dont know, but i think not. General biotech studies is more Pharma products and diagnostics for bio-pharma products oriented, but would like to know the answer as well, if u find it out. thanks in advance....
@@BT.ed9 oooo, alright sir, thank you so much💐
After completing bsc in biotechnology is it possible to take masters in biotechnology from Canada. Is biotechnology is better than biochemistry
Yes it is, and Biochem vs bitoech depends on your interest.... But in terms of its spectrum biotech is better yes
Thanks for the video,my questions are
1.is it possible to work while studying biotech
2.what is meant by English profession test if applying for scholarship
3.like I love biotech n really wanna do it but how hard is it
i’m curious for number one too! i heard STEM majors are usually busy spending loads of time in labs, so I wonder if its possible to have part time while studying in uni
I’d like to know too! I work full time in bio pharmaceutical and thinking of taking biotechnology this fall
Thanks for watching🙏
But if u give it enough time and put in the work, u will get through it.
best of luck👍
I just wanna make cyborgs a thing LMAO
The body can reject the enhancements but Elon musks slaves found a way to do it
Is this for btech biotechnology or bsc biotechnology??
I have the same question
@@samithhs1841 its for both biotechnology has 2 streams : genetic engineering and biochemical engineering no matter what course you choose you'll have to learn chemistry .
Thank you
Glad you were here.
Can a Biotechnologist be qualified to treat a patient in the hospital? Can one become Biotechnologist and a Medical doctor at the same time?
No, you cant
what kind of Study is related to Nursery plant business and planting trees ???
Dont know mate
I like in the same way neuroscience and astronomy, so I want to choose a bachelor in which I can work either physics (...astronomy, cosmology) or neurosciences. Is there a career that you recommend me with a good monetary income?
No idea in that area. Sorry.
But best of luck for ur future
Thanks for this video. It was very helpful.
Very kind thanks🙏
Is maths important in 10+2 grades can I do it only with biology
Is biotechnology exchangeable with biomanufacturing? I think biotechnology need an advanced degree to have as career while biomanufacturing is a start to an entry level biotechnology career. With a degree in biomanufacturing, will I be able to work independently as part of a team? Or, do you have to work in a group with others? I want a job where I work independently as part of a team.
Mostly in team, but as a Biotechnologist u can ofc work someplace with just an undergraduate/starter.....
@@BT.ed9 I'm curious, what does it look like to work on a team?
Hi I have a question does biotechnologist jobs have unions and are the jobs a demand?
Demands for sure given that the market is growing at a very nice trajectory. Unions i have no idea, at least not here. U can look that up by looking to job offers, which biotechnologists are qualified to do.
Just an FYI, i made a video on the Types of jobs that biotechnologists are qualified for. U can watch if u like. ua-cam.com/video/rTnxIfpaX3w/v-deo.html
Hope that helps
@@BT.ed9 Okay thank you!

Is it good can I got jobs in this course plz help me
Sure you can
Does the biotechnology department offer an engineering degree? 🙏
From some unis they do, others offer it as a BSc. I suggest looking into the degree programs from universities that you are interested in.
Hope it helped
okay so how can i get a job before my bachleors degree
Difficult, but as a student you can, or after a traineeship
Hello Sir I want to know few things about biotech. Is there anyway to contact you
heeey, is there any free online course or society of biotech that I can join?
I want to make my CV better .
I am studying in such a uni where there is no lab for biotech . What can I do to compensate this deficiency. Plz guide me. And I am a fresher
I would suggest an Internship. Always looks good on the Resumee
Does it matter if the grades cause that's what I fear like the material I understand but when it comes to exam I always do bad
Alot of ppl have problems with this including myself.... Grades do matter. But u can still get into almost every branch of the field
@@BT.ed9 cause my GPA is average but for my college I didn't see anything for grade requirements but my logic is that if I continue what grades should I aim for then I mean As but like usually I get b- or c+ for the bio/chrm classes
Is BSC biotechnology a technical degree?
Yes. since it has indistrial applications, and is a skilled degree..
@ bio tech guy, I never studied IT and i want to do biotechnology, will it be a big challenge to me
No not at all. Its just the basics from the start till alil bit.... U will be required to face more maths that Informatics......
I'm just head over hills for biotechnology🥲❤
