I am just starting to dance ballet at 34. My confidence in executing the pirouettes has been low. Your rips have helped me start to put the pieces together. Thanks so much!
Thank you so much for this, Maria! Earlier in my ballet class, I was kinda having a hard time to do my turns... and I was frustrated because I barely can finish my pirouette turns, SO- thankyou for the tips! It helps me a lot ❤ Hope you can also give us some tips on Fouttés too. We love you too, Maria!!! Stay Safe 😊❤
Pirouettes are so complicated. So much to think about! Thanks for these tips! I haven’t thought about my supporting shoulder before. I’m excited to work on that one! Thank you!
Hello Maria. I've got an amazing idea for you. You could write a book about your experience at Vaganova Academy. You could put in the book like: Some curiosities and informations about the Academy, considerations and reflections, tales or things happened the in the school when you were there, or also maybe fun facts and just your experience written by a graduate
I love your tips María. I would love more tips to improve in ballet. And more ballet centre classes!! Workouts are fine but cannot say there are not plenty of them out in UA-cam. Great ballet classes like yours are much needed!!!
I'm not a ballerina but I still watch these videos till the end because they're fascinating. Your fitness videos were great because they pushed me to workout, in fact I still go back to them when I'm motivated enough to exercise. The pilates ones were my favorites. I also watch the snippets of your performances.
Thank you Maria, love these tips videos! ❤️ I would love a tips video on posture (flat black, long neck, etc.) and how to achieve the "ballerina look" in the upper body. Lots of love!
All tips really work for me especially tip #2 because like you said my teacher points out that my shoulder goes all over making me lose control thank you!!❤
Can you do a video especially on cambre backwards. I have had several back operations and I’m finding them hard to do. Love your channel. Bless you xxx
Thank you very much! The fifth tip is helping me a lot! 🙏🏻✨ Btw I love this ending of the video! Keep this highlighting of yourself with this little “trumpet sound”! It’s soooo cute 🙈🤍
I remember with my first preparations come with the incoming shoulders under fourth Position. The funny thing in the beginning was that I was not allowed (during pirouettes) to lift my passe was lifted than around the knee. I love you.
Thanks for this helpful video! One good tip for pirouettes that helps me is keeping my head in line with my shoulders. Sometimes my head goes too far forward and throws me off, especially when I'm turning on pointe. Please make a tips video for turns on pointe!
I wanted to ask you how do you deal with the “recurvatum” in your knees and those beautiful and powerful feet at the time to “close the pirouette” ...especially when u need to be precise on stage. Do your (beautiful) lines challenge the precision? Thank you so much for reading this. It’s just so interesting for me to know about these things. Have a beautiful day🧡
I have just done your 5 tips on pirouettes and found all your technical explanations and own experience comments GENIAL👌👌👌... applying the shoulder tip supporting the standing leg has stopped me straight away to over rotate while doing the pirouette and I can concentrate on the other very helpful tips👌🙏.... I have 2 further questions should they be relevant to other followers too: 1) the head position : where to look to and how many angles while turning (I tend to be dizzy after a while 😅)? 2) the number of turns : what is the trigger to keep on turning and can u control the number of turns u want to achieve (not that I am doing many right now😂)? 🙏💙♥️🙏💙♥️🙏💙♥️ have a good sunny weekend 🧡💛💚 from London😍😍😍
Thank you so much! These tips are really helpful. Maybe you could make 9-minute workout for feet flexibility/strength? I do your workout and stretch videos everyday and have found them really helpful!
Hey Maria... I love your videos and the Tipps so much... THANKS SO LOT.... Mayby you can make a stretching video with the Terra band, also for the higher develope a la second... PLEASE 🙏
Would love to see more videos in russian/english. I think I might be learning a new language thanks to you 🤓 Thanks for this video! It was very useful 🤩🤩
Although our pirouettes are very different in Baroque Dance, this is interesting and I will see how much of it can be incorporated in my next practice.
this is great, going to work on this at home, and class, i really enjoyed barre class you did, really has helped me in class! Improving flexibility, arabesque, attitudes and turns and soft beautiful arms and port de bra is what I'm working on, anything you do helps, tips, and classes etc. xoxoxo
you're so wonderful.. i love this video! please help with en dedans turns? my teacher likes to do them in many positions. I have especially trouble with the tour devant because i cannot keep my standing leg turned out - standing leg is all i think about and still it does not lead the turns, but it follows the turn. how do I change that?
I know its simple but making sure im spotting the same place and not changing it. I always forget to do this- and as soon as I think about it I have no issue doing three/ consistent turns .
Very nice Maria! For me, I would add, when in position for pirouettes always keep your hips forward. This helps with balance and getting into/maintaining correct position for pirouette ( any kind ). Also, don't forget to spot the pirouettes! I find that if you use slightly less force and focus more on spotting you can execute five or six turns - easy! :) Lots of Love!
I think it would be nice from you to make more ballet classes, if possible barre and later center. Some real Vaganova typical training....its juste for some ideas!!??
Hi, I have a question. My teachers say me to stay on my supporting leg, but, when I do it, one side of the hip goes up and the other side of the hip down😅.
hi! your teachers probably tell you that because it's a common mistake to focus on the passé leg instead of the supporting one. if you do that, your pelvis won't be balanced and the hip of the passé leg will go higher than the hip of the supporting one, and you'll lose your balance. that's why it's important to remember to push your supporting leg against the floor and keep it extended and turned out. however, this doesn't mean you have to tilt your hips towards that side, because that means your pelvis will not be balanced. think of it like this: when doing a pirouette, your supporting leg is the axis around which you'll rotate, so it needs to be strong and aligned with your center of gravity in order to spin and keep your balance. if this pillar is wobbly, the pirouette will likely be messy and less stable. but building a strong pillar is meaningless if you don't put any weight on it: that's why you need to slightly shift your center of gravity (but NOT tilt your pelvis) onto the supporting leg so that all your weight falls into it instead of being distributed between both sides. to sum up, it's important to put your weight on your supporting leg and keep it strong, but you need to shift your whole axis: if your hips are not balanced, it means you're bending that axis instead and you'll lose your balance! hope this helps, and please remember to take it easy and be patient to yourself💙 happy dancing!

What about spotting?
Hi, I have a question. My teachers say me to stay on my supporting leg, but, when I do it, one side of the hip goes up and the other side of the hip down😅.

hope this helps, and please remember to take it easy and be patient to yourself💙 happy dancing!
Also our teacher has taught us to go through first position before the passe, it is like cheating, doing basically a half turn:))
You know what? Why don't you make a video of your skincare and makeup routine as a ballerina? It would be interesting to put it here in your channel
💖💖💖
These are great! Could you send some help on en dehors
Alr feel more confident in my pirouettes
Cardio workouts
She made allready a lot of cardio workouts!!!
