I am visiting one of my son’s that lives in a cluttered , shared house in DC, with a rather unsettling carnival style decor . helped his do his room , closet and laundry. Tomorrow the refrigerator. ( just imagine!). Pray for me. I am more grateful than ever for my very plain, small ranch house in Montana

Good job! Like you, I have found that it’s much easier to manage your house if you stay on top of the decluttering. A little here, a little there, and it’s not as overwhelming. Great that you involve your kiddos!

I really like your channel, you seem like an actual real person who is a minimalist! I recently watched someone else's video, a mum who had multiple kids, and she still seemed to have so much stuff despite constant decluttering advice! your house looks genuinely lived in and minimal yet comfortable.

Shannon is the real deal! I've enjoyed her Channel for a couple of years now. I can honestly say that she is genuine and honest. It's so refreshing, tuning into her Channel, after seeing so many others that just leave me feeling somewhat unsettled. I just cannot say enough good things about her, the practical advice, and real-life examples are so encouraging😊👍And, she even has wonderful recipes ❤

As soon as I saw the spaghetti spoon come out of the drawer, I just had to giggle. I decluttered mine over a year ago for the exact same reason...using tongs now. My husband questioned my decision, but got over it quickly. Lol.

Awwwv it was so cute the way your son took charge of the decluttering and the way his brother followed! I've been decluttering for the past 3 years and even though I've decluttered sooooo much I still find things to get rid of!!! I love how airy and welcoming my home feels! Take care and sending big hugs from Canada🤗🌼🤗💛🤗

It's amazing that we always have more stuff to get rid of despite going through it multiple times.

Maybe, in the hopes, someday, what if I need it, just in case" All these are stumbling blocks for making decisions. Clutter is delayed decisions! Great seasonal pass through!! Love how you got the boys involved in making decisions about their toys.

It’s crazy that as minimal as you are you still found things. I need to do this soon. Thanks for the inspiration 😉

Good Morning, Shannon! Another lovely upload to enjoy as I walked on my treadmill! Today I went thru the house and came up with these things: light 💡bulbs that can be donated to someone who prefers a warmer tint, a dog bed which needed replacing badly, an insert to an Instant pot/ air fryer that was of questionable coating and impossible to clean well, a lipstick and eyebrow gel of wrong shade, and an eyelash curler that was upgraded to a non-ouchy one. Some of these things were replaced but I was keeping true to my one in/one out rule😉 With just my husband & I now ( new empty nester status ) our house is very minimal but truly, I can always find something :)

Glad to see the boys help! People getting rid of stuff my kids wanted to keep really hurt the not getting attached to stuff, or went the other way and caused a feeling that they shouldn't have anything for the other one....

Inspiring to see! I just did a seasonal pass through the bathroom, kitchen and entryway closet but some cabinets in the living room await. It’s so much easier to maintain things and go a little further this way. Great insight on the tongs versus spaghetti fork. I think I will do that too. Never thought of using the tongs!

You always inspire! I have a bag in the hallway closet where I put things for charity whenever I find something we don't use. It works even if my body has so many problems that I can't find the energy for much at the same time. You have adorable kids! So cute when they sorted things and good to learn! Thank you for sharing! / Stina

Yes, a few minutes at a time to clear a drawer or a few clothes makes a big difference because in time it adds up. Progress is progress. I appreciate your videos & your beautiful family.
