The "gem" of this gem is +6 to weapon range. DoT portion is just to counter the downside of Southbound. Ruetoo is leaguestarting with it, but as a Duelist: ua-cam.com/video/GA0g3gWCccc/v-deo.htmlsi=wDnHVesrVvdFbgJp
Rues Version is very good, he always makes good Builds, its also very different because i tried to scale the Dot, and he scaled the Hit which results in way more damage. Only problem i see is that his build is very unique heavy so not a very leaguestart friendly build, but he has never said that anyway. Slayer is also very smart as you can just convert Phys to Cold and then get the benefits of Slayer Leech, Cullling also endurance charges from Frenzy Charges is very nice since they got changed. I might just take it his build and play it.
Hmm, id probably would but you need 100% crit chance otherwise you cant reliably Proc Avatar of the Wilds with ailments as Perfect Agony states "Non-Critical Strikes cannot inflict Ailments". I wouldnt touch Perfect Agony for a leaguestart it seems wonky to me.
trying to scale the dot portion with warden doesnt seem very good, you really need lots of ailments and attack speed. you can still use katabasis you just have to drop the dot portion and scale the hit portion with attack speed and crit. you will be able to leech that way as well
@@grimj7887 The main argument for Katabasis with warden from what I've seen is that each "hit" counts as like 5 hits for the purposes of Oath of Winter + Spring, meaning you can actually get 100% shock uptime without having to invest absurdly hard into attack speed, and likewise get Hoarfrost off absurdly fast. It also has *massively* increased range compared to regular frost blades, which adds a lot of safety to a character which WILL be squishy by any reasonable comparisons. You're right in that a pure PoB numbers perspective has it weaker, but I really think there's more to consider in the choice between skills.
@@XxOzzyBoyx Hmm that does sound interesting but thats a thing you have to Test after the league launches, and then youd have to add it together with probably Nimis Projectile Return for even more hits for Shock

you could just go crit and scale the hit instead

But then you just go normal Frost blades cause it scaled bettter with Hit anyway defeating the purpose of the Skill Gem doing a DoT
