I am enjoying it a lot. I understand what some people are saying about it being empty. I think having no global chat makes it feel that way as opposed to other MMO's I have played. I do see my neighbors running around working on their plots and we have a small group of people playing together so that helps.
what worries me the most about this game is that it says on the steam page that on top of the initial cost, it will have a monthly cost that will scale based on the size of the plots you want to maintain and we have no idea how much it will be. not for me
That is true from what I've seen. Best way to put it - the initial cost is basically just to get a pass to play EA alpha. And, in fairness, a year's worth of sub is probably more than what the current cost is, so maybe they thought it seemed fair to do just a one-time payment to get people in early without worrying about subs, but it is certainly a weird way to go about it for an MMO to release in EA. This looks like a cool concept, but with the already grindy nature of it, and potential for a vast, empty world that is mostly filled with toxic players and large obnoxious guilds region-locking you out, the devs really need to bring their all to making this work flawlessly.
Do you know how the plots work in some depth? Like, if you were to group with friends, can everyone use stuff on each other's plots? I could see this working like a Lif where everyone sepcializes in certain trades and maybe only builds and work on those trades - like blacksmithing, carpentry, ect. I imagine friends/guilds can and should be able to interact with each other's plots and crafting tables maybe?
You can set it up so clans, can access your plots certainly and actually for a lot of basic workbenches seems anyone can come up and use them as I've had visitors to my place. This is a game you can solo up to a point I'd imagine but far faster to have one person working on each separate skill as more skills come up as your unlocking things like weaponsmithing, etc.
It's not much there now, i agree, but look at tge depth of things that are present, namely crafting and building. If the rest is gonna beequaly good eventually, there will be no better game.
Just tested it out on controller, surprisingly you can move and use combat and access your inventory but that's about it currently. If you want to build access other menus still need mouse and keyboard but it does have basic functionality so there is hope they get full at some point.
I can't wait until the Crafting/Survival games run it's course. Most games look good until I see 'Crafting /Survival' tag line. Can we move on from these type of games already...too many of them out there.

i would like an upgraded version of chimeraland over this.. but gonna check it out some time later :)

This game seems so empty....it's beautiful visually but soulless.
