ive been watching you since the early days of new world and have always enjoyed your enthusiastic takes. This game looks amazing and I hope it delivers, for the sake of the genre. I'm about to be homeless in a week and am very scared, Ive never been in this situation. But I've seen you pull yourself out of a very difficult situation and I just hope I'm able to figure it out as well. The fact that you stayed driven during those tough times really inspires me, and that it might all be okay if i just stay positive. Thanks for always sharing your journey man.
No offence but how many times have we heard that? This games got so much potential.... If a game doesn't cone out the gates with clear design elements and already I can see flaws, how much potential will Devs unlock?
Yes sir, completely agree! Great video, keep it up! Speaking of XIV it's next expansion releases next week, so for now I've just been exploring in Pax Dei. Not getting too committed to any plot, or clan until I've cleared that expansion's launch content up. Hopefully by then, things are fairly optimized! So excited for what this game evolves into!
We are a little italian clan of 6 ppl… we are gathering mats , crafting , progressing skills and what i love most is that we made allready some raids/ small dungeons with just our equipment crafted by us (armor / weapons / potions and food) without any BS auction house/vendors for the easy way… and we are loving it Yes we are very slow progressing (we are crafting the jack of plate iron pieces still) and made steel only yesterday but we are very satisfied Ps yes the game lag and combat is very “raw” stage but i love it so far Pss we managed to trade an healing cape/hat for some materials with a clan near us so i love also the social side
I totally agree with you, I am enjoying it, getting more gear and weapons that are stronger from crafting being advanced, leveling up my weapons and shield, bow things take a noticeable increase in damage, and the abilities make a big difference n combat. Can’t wait for castle siege and defending. Loot drops in caves, forts, dungeons, named npcs, etc. great video bro!
my 3 favourite games are Pax Dei, Eco and Valheim. I really love this game, the crafting is top notch, the building can be triggering at times but it really is good, hope they add more build options, and also add cabinets and shelving units and other furniture to flesh out rooms.
This game reminds me a lot of Mortal Online for the aesthetic and then Shadowbane for everything being player made/crafted and the player driven economy (plus the combat). Then a bit of Star Wars Galaxies mixed in, specifically because of the crafting and being known for being a certain type of crafter..like the goto crafter for certain items.
Only about 8 hours in on the game so far. Yes its a grind, but when you begin to achieve your goals it so rewarding. Thanks for your enthusiastic coverage on the subject.
Every time I tune into watch someone play this game, they’re standing around crafting benches waiting for stuff to finish. I don’t think this is MY style game. But I’m happy you’re enjoying it!
I was super into New World when it came out, then after 1 clan pretty much took over the entire map the fun was gone, and a lot of people left the server.... With what your saying about getting ready for war with other players makes me suspect that if one major guild takes over then other people may lose interest or something and the fun will die down.
Ya that's what I was afraid of. No incentives for smaller groups. Only encourages huge guilds. Plus I just saw the dungeon video and I was not impressed.
The Pax Dei discord is worth joining. A lot of helpful people in there and the Devs are very good at keeping everyone informed about issues and fixes for them.
I heard the company is nearly bankrupt that is why they pushed Early Access this early. My problem is it shouldn't cost 40 dollars for this current state. I also have some concerns for this genre as an MMO without any form of narrative driving plot. It's sad to say but most people playing MMOs just have a solo mindset these days. I do hope it's a success but I don't think it's wise to hype the game up this early when it clearly isn't ready for full release. We did that for New World and many others and look what happened to those games.
My guess is within 6 months, I think the only reason we have the PvP zone now is for them to test combat and new weapons and spells before the real PvP launches
Problem is people dont get it, These guys are former eve online devs. They are playing the long game and has taken the player driven economy from there.
Exactly, I feel a lot of the people who jumped in(and made all those negative reviews) where just the Rust/Survival-loving only crowd(s) expecting everything a Survival game offers(and how it functions) but more massive than 100/200/300 sized servers, and it to be flawless for an EA title for whatever reason. When it's almost(not entirely) the complete opposite of that genre. 3years from now; shoot I'd even argue a year, now that the players are here to form the direction the game takes, this game will be a complete 180 of what it is now, and more. I can't wait to see where this game ends up! Bought the Founders Pack; explored around, but I got another major MMO's expansion to clear up next week before I can fully commit to Pax. Hoping when I return in a month and half things are better optimized!

After playing the alphas I have to say that this game is not ready for EA and certainly not worth what they're trying to charge for it. I would advise anyone thinking of buying this game to watch a few review videos from the other side of the aisle. Aside from the building and unbalanced crafting, and maybe a few empty npc camps, there is absolutely nothing to do in this huge, empty map. I wonder what you guys will be doing in a month? Let's meet back here then and you let me know.
You can play it solo - but yes its going to take a lot of work. But the beauty of it is that you can trade with others. You don't have the skills to make your own higher lvl stuff - trade those material with someone who can. I have seen a bunch of little towns being built already. I know the guild I'm in we have either made friends with our neighbors or absorbed them into the guild.
