Your husband is putting the finishing touches up on the rocking chair in the nursery so you have a place to rock the baby to sleep when you call for him. You let him know that you believe you're starting to go into labor! Your husband knows (thanks to some classes you took together) that the early stages of labor can take some time and thus begins to get ready, but tries his best to help you stay comfortable until it's time to go to the hospital.

“Well of course I’m tryna stay calm… we don’t know if it’s the real thing yet and.. let’s be honest.. the last thing we needs to be happening when, the real thing starts is for me to be running around like a chicken with my head cut off.” he said, chuckling that familiar chuckle she loved so much.
Getting her ice chips, making sure she felt alright, having the contraction timer ready, helping her walk around, putting an order in for her favorite takeout… She didn’t know how on earth she ever became worthy of this absolute sweetheart of a man but… she was so grateful for him. “of course I think you’re beautiful babe…” “really.?” “Yeah..! I mean first off, bodies change. And.. that’s not to say that I don’t think you’re beautiful, cause I think that you’re beautiful no matter what, but, I’m more interested in you for… you’re personality.. and your sense of humor, the fact that you got a rockin bod just.. makes it even better!!” His words caused her to blush, and she scoffed humorously, swatting playfully at him, in an attempt to keep her composure.
As the banter picked back up whence they reached the car, she couldn’t help laughing a little, his protests were always so cute- “but I am chivalrous! My wife, my darling, my beloved, who eh- who do you know that’s more chivalrous than me?” He asks and she pretends to think about it. “Hmmmm- my dad?~” she asked teasingly, “yeah well- ok- your father counts yes but- I can’t compete with that- I try. I *try.* but…” he laughs a moment “your dad’s the mold that all of us should try to fit.. at least when it comes to how he takes care of your mom…” he said smiling.
She grinned and informed him that her dad had said he was a good husband, prompting him to gush, and laugh that laugh she loved so much, causing her to smile wider.
After deciding on a general game plan, she thought a moment, “Did you mean it earlier.. when you said I was the only one you wanted to do this with..?” She asked, and he smiled “yeah.. of course I meant that… I wouldn’t… honey I would- I would never ever ever wanna go on this journey with anybody but you…” he said, and she couldn’t help the swell of joy and love in her chest as he spoke. “My heart is so full of love for you sometimes I’m afraid it might just burst…” “you mean that…?” “Of course I mean that…” he murmured, kissing her softly before he went to grab the food.
She couldn’t wait to meet their new little bundle of blessing.

Also fun fact- I’m fairly certain my mom had a craving for sonic ice when she was pregnant with me! So the ice chips are a nice touch ^w^

Of course protective Pingly! I also definitely would have a contraction timer, and definitely would take classes. Most of the women I've been around when they're pregnant enjoy ice chips so it's nice to know your Mom had the same craving haha.

Haha I'm certainly not upset about being told that, I've had people in real life say similar things. Heck when people in real life find out I'm not married with kids they usually get confused. Supposedly I have 'Dad and Husband' energy lmao.
Also, my teeth are very sensitive so I hate ice in general I don't understand it.

I like the crunch of it lol, and then the cold is nice if it’s hot out, but I do get the sensitive teeth thing, sometimes it’s too cold for me.
