Did I miss something? Where is the rest of the video? Where did you mount the computer? Why didn't you show any of the actual hooking up of wires? Why didn't you show mounting the hinge? This was a great video I was following step by step until you just jump from plugging in CanBus plug to testing. Now I've gotta find a whole other video to finish
Why do you have to leave all doors open? I may have missed it but did you have to pull wires around ? I got my car back after a truck retrofit and my driver side door is cracking 3 cracks when I open it
Is there any solution on how to get the app working with the trunk? I Can only open, But i cannot close? I have tried to reconnect the can and restart the car, without any luck.
Had Tesla change out the trunk harness under the recall and they might have taken the "motor plug" cable, trunk lift gate no longer working. Wonder if there is a way to get individual cables from Handsshow directly incase one goes missing or is damaged 🤷♂
Just had my recalled trunk harness replaced and discovered the next day that the removable cover on the trunk lid isn't securely attached anymore. Bet they broke a bunch of clips taking it off and didn't bother replacing them. Love the car, but Tesla service sucks.
Quick question - My Model 3 (2020) doesn't shut when I use the phone or the touch screen... any idea what I'm doing wrong? It closes when I press the button I installed... just doesn't seem to work with the app or touch screen. Thoughts?
@@megawatts so brake then press the button? (And I was mistaken... it works in the app.... just not the touch screen.... I will try braking while pressing next)
@@alexp7362 Sounds like you may not have the ODB connected properly. Everything worked for me - including the app and touch screen. Touch screen required holding the brake first.
Thanks for your installation video- have a quick question . After installation climate control is at fault error is showing and also i can only open the trunk via app or car display but not close the trunk.. i tried rebooting but its till the same.. is there anything wrong i might have during installation?
so I have an older one of these and my complaint is the strut is so wide it rubs against the rubber weather strip on the rear window. Others have complained theirs has been torn by this. Does the new strut hit the stripping right when it opens and just as it closes?
It does hit is upon close and opening. You just need to cut the trim off like Tesla does with their OEM for 2021-present. They have the same issue even with OEM on left side
Hi guys yesterday I installed Hannshow V10 trunk power lift kit connected to can bud ecc and still no control from Tesla App or from Display any suggestions?
Hey Kris, did you end up ordering this power trunk kit from hansshow? I did and I think the sent me the old version with the rectangular button and control unit with the separate speaker.
@@ericklee2050 I actually end up holding off after watching a few more vids and reading more reviews, the qa/qc seems to a bit of a risk. I didnt want to take the chance of the latch burning up in smoke or the sensors messing up and auto opening randomly or even not being able to open or close at all after a few months of install. Hope that it works well for you!

You could use soapy water to run wire through.
Water might cause corrosion

I am surprise Tesla touched it even with after market parts
Whwre can I get those mats?
Gonna have to do this soon 🤔
I would definitely have to take this to a professional. Any LA recommendations?
I want a professional to do mine too. Did you ever find one?

trunk can be open and close but the Tesla computer complains that primary power did not see the low voltage. How do I reset and make this goes away?
You need a new 12 v battery
They sent you two left gloves?😅
did you remove the fender to run the cables for struts?
No you run it along the trunk rubber trim

Try first resetting by pushing in both scroll wheel for 10 seconds
Touch screen works to close when you step on brake simultaneously

When I push the brake trunk close letters getting flashy on the screen and won’t close
What?
How did you run the wires from the struts into the trunk?
I did it the Og way through tail lights opening and added some adhesive plumbing clay pudding, was to lazy to take off bumper. 😂
great install. did you have to take the rear bumper off to run the strut wires?
No bumper removal needed only need to if you install kick sensor for me not worth for a kick sensor

To close trunk from inside car you need to have foot on the brake. The app allows to open and close for me
