THANK YOU. I was racking my brain and my time watching videos trying to learn how to create variations. YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO MENTIONED THAT IMPORTANT PIECE OF INFORMATION. YOU NEED TO HAVE AN EBAY STORE. Thank you.
Justin, I have a Non Profit eShop on eBay where all proceeds goes to local animal rescues as well as Spay & Neuter Programs, all my items are donated & I received a lot of doTerra essential oils & I couldn't image listing them individually, & couldn't figure out how to list variations. Needless to say your video was a blessing. Thank you so much for taking the time to do it. I always go to your videos whenever I need help with eBay.
THANK YOU! Thanks for being clear and concise! I watched several other videos before I got to this one and they all blabbed on and on about how to set up a listing. This was annoying because I ALREADY KNOW HOW TO SET UP A LISTING! THANK YOU FOR GETTING TO THE POINT!!!!! YOU ROCK!
Your explanation was very clear and thorough. I have wanted to use variations for a while, but for some reason It didn’t work for me. I know understand what I was doing wrong. Thank you. I have been binge watching your vids today and I have received valuable info in every one. Hope you get more subscribers :)
I dont think you mention that you have to be in the business seller tab? Thats absolutly crucial, as well as selecting it as a fixed price listing. I went round in cirlces for ages!
Thanks yeah he didn’t mention that you have to have a eBay store to be able to add variations. I’m a regular eBay seller but dont have a eBay store so now I know why i dont have the variation options.
@@joeyflowers5071 yeah you need to have a business account. EBay put so many blocks in the way of me being able to sell with them that I just forgot about them and built a site in the end!
Thanks for the video. Can you not add the option to allow buyers to make an offer if you do shoe size variations? I can't figure out how to allow offers like single listings. Thansk
Best video on YT, thank you for this information I truly appreciate it. I have been selling on eBay for sometime now and bulk listings are always a challenge for me. Thank you , thank you 🙏.
Is it a good idea to do a variation listing, and then due a separate single listing for each of your previous variation listing? I know this video old, but I figured id try anyways
Hi Justin, I am glad you did this subject because, for some time, I have been thinking about doing Variations listings. You addressed in the video the questions I had, thank you😊
Is there a way to add additional shipping charges once original payment has been made. I sold something but didn't include shipping charges and buyer said they were willing to pay additional charges and I don't know if ebay can do that, do you?
I love your videos. Have you tried this on the mobile app? I use my mobile 99% of the time. Am I missing out on the desktop options ? I tried doing it on the app, so far cant locate it . Thanks
Can you list different brands under variations? For instance, I have 5 single volumizing, black mascaras. They are different brands. Would it be ok to put them under 1 listing using variations?
When doing quantity, how doe shipping work if the customer purchases more than one. If 2 are purchased, is the shipping price doubled automatically on the listing?
That's why I couldn't find it. I don't have a store. I watched videos and they said I didn't need to have a store. I asked CHATGPT on how to do it and even it said that it was possible to do it without a store. Now I know. Thanks for the info.
Thanks for the tutorial, Justin. Question...when I decide to start listing will I be able to import my existing Etsy listings (sku's, pics, descriptions, etc.) to my Ebay store, or can I at least copy paste sku's? I'm presently using a POD so will have to sync but just wondering about this. Thank you!
how do you label one as out of stock. I see lots of plp with multiple colors on a shirt and if the red one has 0 in stock it says "out of stock" when I change it is says. Error the quantity must be larger than 0.
Hi there Justin - with regards to variations - is it possible to purchase multiple (different) items/sizes for a one-off freight cost? Eg my freight is $10 for one item - but if someone wants three in separate categories - can I apply a $10 once-off charge for any amount of items purchased? Or do I have to ask customer to contact me and request me to manually adjust once all items are in the shopping cart before checkout? Thank you in advance and thank you for your excellent videos. Colleen.
Thank you for this video, as long as I have been on eBay I have never used variations. It helped greatly in understanding how but.......... I pose this question to you. IN this video you are showing similar items of similar weights. What if you are doing vintage dish set where you have cups that weigh one weight and would qualify for First Class shipping and then plates that weigh over a pound each that would ship Priority Mail. Can you separate weight of item and shipping methods per variation?? I can not sell a 4 ounce cup to a buyer at the highest weight of an item I am selling of a matched set. If so how. If not using variations would not be useful to me that I can see right now.
Hi Justin, I am working on creating a listing with 12 colors of one style of shoe. I use a conch shell as a shoe stand to display my shoes at different angles. It also is a way to gain brand recognition for my store. I plan on putting a thank you card in with my items including a picture of the conch shell with a statement like "look for the conch whenever you need shoes". Do you think it is necessary to make a statement that the shell is not included? it seems extremely obvious to me that it is being used as a display stand but it only takes one stubborn, stupid buyer to make your life difficult. On the other side of the argument I feel like it kind of insults the intelligence of buyers to over state the obvious.
Another great video. Their wording is very strange--attributes and variations--but your example helped to explain that. It does appear that I can do a variation listing even without having a store.--fyi
Hey Demarcus. As of right now, eBay doesn't allow variations to be added on mobile. They might change it in the future as they improve the app,but for now the only way to do so is on a computer. Hope this helps.
Can you turn off promoted listings to do a markdown sale, I don't want to do both way too big of a cut, but I am not sure if promoted turns off right away, I think if you turn it off it's still going for a month, do you know? thanks
You can stop or start a promoted listings campaign at any time. Stopping a campaign generally takes effect the same day. Keep in mind, however, that any sales generated after you stop the campaign from buyers who clicked your ads (before you stopped the campaign) are charged the promoted listing fee. Dashboard information from stopped campaigns continues to be available even after you end the promotion. You will only be charged for promoted listings if a buyer clicks on one of your ads, and then buys that item within 30 days. So in theory, if you want to be completely safe from being double charged with promoted and markdown fees, you wouldn't have to worry after a month has passed. I hope this helps! ~ Justin
Great info! I only started selling a few months ago from my personal eBay account. Is it possible to transition that to an eBay store? Or do I have to start from scratch? I definitely want to keep all my reviews.
Yes you can! When you open a store, all of your active listings transfer over. Think of the store as basically just a subscription service for eBay sellers. You can upgrade at any time, and it makes a lot of sense to do so as you increase your active listings. The more active listings you have, the more insertion fees you would pay. But, with a store subscription you get more free listings, and get other great benefits like marketing tools, free shipping supplies, and much more. As you grow, the cost of the store really pays for itself when you factor what you save versus not having a store. This article does a good job of explaining how you save with a store versus not having one: export.ebay.com/en/marketing/ebay-store/why-get-ebay-store/ And link does a good job of showing the store levels, their costs, and benefits: www.ebay.com/sub/subscriptions The great thing about eBay stores is that you can always upgrade as you grow your active listings. I hope this helps! ~ Justin
Hey there! As far as I know it isn't possible on mobile. The mobil app is pretty bare bones and simplified. It's great for photographing listings, but otherwise I find it much easier to list from the computer. I'll usually draft on a desktop first, and then switch over to mobile to snap photos and then publish the listing. I hope this helps.
You should be able to revise an active listing and add variations. That being said, not all ebay categories allow variations. If you listed in a category that doesn't allow them, try creating a new listing by "selling similar" and then changing the category. I hope this helps. ~ Justin PS: here's an eBay article about the process. Hopefully it helps. export.ebay.com/en/listings/how-optimize-your-listings/how-to-create-listings-with-variations/
Great question! Once you create the variation for each color, you’ll have the ability to add/change quantities for each. Try creating the variation first and then you should see it. Hope this helps!
Hey, sorry I’m just now seeing this. Unfortunately, Ebay only allows store subscribers to create listings with variations. If you’ve never subscribed to a store before, you should consider. The lowest store level starts off at five dollars a month and gives you a lot more free listings than if you were to lost without a store. I hope this helps!
@@CoachCommerce thank you so much for your response I have another question about shipping small light packages that weights less than 2 ounces I’m confused about seeing many listings with low prices including free shipping if you can help will be appreciated thanks.
Hey Bryan. Some categories on eBay don't allow for listing with variations. If you're not seeing it, try changing the item category to something different. That's my best guess as to why you can't find the variations. I hope this helps.
Nothing here matches anything I have on ebay, I believe this is outdated and cant even follow the instructions, the Variations button is now hidden behind the 3 dots
