Most money payed on an expensive card sold?
I just got into selling on eBay about a month or two ago and I’ve sold over 15 items I’m so excited.
Congrats!
You did an incredible job walking us through the entire selling process. I found the eBay shipping option with tracking especially helpful and the packaging of the cards was also very clear. You should consider a career in teaching. I think you could go places.
Awesome, thanks buddy! I'll have to give that teaching career comment a thought or two ;)
Yes! Fivver is a good site to teach.
Thanks for sharing bro. Doing this exact process and made my first 8 sales in 3 days. Again thank you!
That's awesome buddy! Congrats :)
To be honest that is not really a safe way to ship your cards. Toploaders provide some protection but not full protection. you should consider maybe putting some basic cards or energies on the front and back of the card if you plan on using that envelop. Just a suggestion. Great Video and great explanation on everything.
I appreciate your feedback. I've shipped hundreds of cards this way with no issues at all. The worst thing I run into is a lost card and I feel like that happens more often if the package is thicker. I think more protection is certainly not a bad thing.
Hey Ronnie, thank you for this information. I’ve been selling cards in lots because I wasn’t sure how to effectively ship singles. Now I feel prepared to both sell and ship singles effectively.
Awesome, Ed! Glad I could help you out!
Best eBay card selling tutorial man!

Been dreaming of doing the exact same. Let's hope this is the year! Thanks for the videos

I'm actually trying to start building up my own bussiness. I'm mainly interested in the experience and I really appreciate all of your videos on the subject, but I'm having trouble finding a starting point. Right now I'm leaning towards bidding on some cheap secret rares and trying to flip them for a little profit to get the ball rolling. But I've also seen people like you buying lots and just selling the high value cards. Just so I understand, buying lots like this is all about getting the most amount of cards per money spent + HOPING that you get a high value card(s) Right? So there's a small risk involved. I hope you don't mind the question and I'm very excited for any new content you put out!! Have a good one!
Hi Cris! Thank you for watching, your question, and your kind words! It's a good thing that you're having a hard time finding a starting point because that means the market is ripe with a lot of different avenues that you can go down and find success. I've made some bad buys in the past, no doubt about it and a rule that I try and stick by now that has served me well is not paying more than 70% current value for cards, not including sealed product. If I can find a lot that I can buy for that amount or less, I've always returned a nice profit. Granted, not everything is going to sell right away, but that margin at least prevents me from getting burned too badly. I would stay away from big bulk lots full of V cards and holo as those may appear to be worth $1 or so, but nobody is really looking to buy those so they really aren't worth it.
Overall, I learn something new every time I buy something to flip it and those learning experiences are invaluable. They make me a smarter seller each and every time it happens. So even if I lose money, I see it as a net win because I'm learning what not to do in the future. No better lesson you can learn than one that costs you money ;)

Hey Ronnie sweet video. What about selling cards over $20+ how much would it cost after fees and tracking for example that Giratina?
Great question! You're looking at least $4 for shipping and fees are the same, so .30 and 13%.
Thank you so much! I’m nine and in first grade I went through a Pokémon phase, so, I have a bunch. I’m looking to get some extra cash and I am aiming for at least $100, I’m not picky tho and will be happy with anything. 800th sub btw! Great channel!

Awesome! Happy to help out!
I found this video INCREDIBLY helpful and easy to follow. I'm starting a similar business and I'm just wondering if you have any tips on what to look for in lots for someone who is getting started? Are there any other general guidelines you use when looking?
Awesome, I'm glad you found it helpful! I would say when looking at lots, I would stay away from any bigger lots that don't have a list of cards available with a specific value. For instance, I bought a lot that had over 300 cards but didn't have a price list available with it and I just looked up a few cards and decided to go for it. I wound up getting a ton of cards that nobody is interested in (holo and v cards) and it made the lot a net loss due to the amount of time and effort to try and move some of that stuff. The biggest piece of advice I can give is don't FOMO about any lot you are looking at. There will be another lot to buy, just be patient and do your homework ahead of time to determine value and you'll be golden.
@@soldbyronnie crazy you say that because I just purchased a lot like that yesterday. I started using whatnot per your reference of liz. Are there any other streamers to look out for there? Nice, I'm getting into selling some cards, this info was very helpful, I have a question tho, is this something you do as a hobby, on side, and make a little extra cash besides your full time job, or is selling cards professionally like you do enough to make a living out of it?
Definitely just a side hustle for me. I have a full time job that I love and selling cards on the side is a great way to supplement my enjoyment of the hobby.
I have a genuine question. How do you actually profit from selling cards at 2.49 with ebay fees and the cost of each card? Wouldn't you only make around 1.50 per sale?
Yeah there isn’t much money in it so I don’t list many cards at that price. I will from time to time if I really just want to unload stuff or I’ll lot several cards together. It’s also a good way to boost your feedback if that’s needed.
In all honesty, very educational video. I myself want to also start selling my current unopened pokemon card collection & watching your video just gave me that extra motivation to go for that hobby of mine that I want to start. I bet that will fetch a pretty penny!
I’m looking to sell a pretty large Japanese Pokémon collection, vintage to modern as well as lots of Amanda some slabs too. Any idea where a good place to sell all of it at one time would be?
There are lots of Facebook groups you could sell on or eBay. The value you will get is going to be pretty low on large lots so be prepared for that. Most people are looking to scoop up big lots for around half of market value. Never hurts to try though.
I have a fresh Japanese eevee heros that I'm trying to sale . I bought then during the pandemic and I have no use for them ...
Once they're ready, do they need to be in an envelope or can we use other package methods? And do you just drop it off with USPS so they can deliver? Good video BTW
Thank you! You can use other packaging material, but be careful about thickness. If for example you used a bubble mailer, that would not qualify for standard envelope shipping which costs .57 currently. You'd have to pay for first class which is a minimum of $4.

Do you have any suggestions on Ebay selling bulk cards, more then would fit in a standard envelope?
The flat rate boxes from USPS are the cheapest way to mail bulk. Just get the size of box you need for how much bulk you have and that is as good as it gets.
Great video! I wanted to start my own eBay shop selling cards as well. Do you recommend getting an LLC?
Definitely! There is no downside other than having to keep track of things. You can use it to write off any purchase you make and you can use it to make tax exempt purchases as well. That’s a great idea for a new video so thank you :)

Anyone have suggestions on cheap black and white printers for mostly shipping labels? I’m currently using an old Epson 4100 with the labels he mentioned above, and the printer got through like 17 eBay labels and is out of ink already… any suggestions are welcome!!
A thermal label printer will pay for itself eventually. You don’t have to but ink for it, just labels and they are cheap. I have a Rollo brand for my printer.
Late to the party but have a question.
I've sold a few individual cards via the eBay standard envelope option. Only a couple of the customers marked their orders as "delivered" and have had a "shipped" status since I sent them off months ago. I even received positive feedback from one customer, after I reached out, but no "delivered" status on the order. After 2 orders not updating to delivered, I stopped selling ungraded individual cards without tracking. How do you get around this? If there isn't a way, should I start a separate eBay store just for individual cards where I don't care about my seller rating?
@@MNTruckerBear I’ve never had this issue. Every card that I’ve ever shipped with standard envelope shipping has eventually been marked as delivered, and it usually happens before it actually does get delivered to my customer. I’m at the point now though I don’t care about feedback because I just want to maintain positive feedback, so my customer is not leaving feedback isn’t a big deal. It just doesn’t make sense to send a five dollar card with actual tracking like with ground advantage because all of your profits will be eaten up by shipping cost. I don’t really have a good answer for you other than stay the course with standard envelope as I’ve never been burned by it.
@@soldbyronnie appreciate it.
Do you know how u can turn offers now because everything changed alot

List it the same, but shipping would be first class shipping. It will cost more but it allows you to put the card in a box or bubble mailer and get more accurate tracking.
i was wondering where you get your cards to sell. Ive only gotten cards from packs and im unaware of any other ways.

@@TherealChester2 I would list it at the lowest price available if you are ready to move it
If a customer buys multiple items, how do you combine the shipping?
eBay sucks at this unfortunately. I just do a shipping refund after they’ve already paid. On most of my cards, I have shipping calculated into the price and I just offer free shipping on everything so usually if someone buys more than one item, I just get to pocket the shipping overage.
Do you buy shipping labels for your thermal printer? I've seen that you can get them for free from USPS/UPS but I'm not sure what stipulations there are for their use.

You can request carrier pickup through FedEx or UPS, but for USPS, you'll have to take it to the post office. Typically there are extra fees involved with carrier pickup as well.
Great video my man! Question for you: I just started selling my cards on Ebay. When I list my cards at $0.99 with a 7-day auciton and choose the $20 eBay envelope with tracking option, the shipping comes out to ~$1.11. That works great. The problem is when the card sells for over $20, eBay is forcing me (the seller) to pay around $3-4 to ship one card when it sells over the $20 limit. I usually make the new buyer pay for shipping, but in this case, they only paid the $1.11 that was advertised in the auction. Now I as the seller have to cover the remaining $2-3 and I have to essentially eat that cost... Any suggestions for scenarios like these?
I don’t ever do auctions, but that’s the main issue here. If your card is priced at $20 or above, the option for standard envelope shipping goes away. If I have a card that is worth around $23 for example, a lot of times I will just list it with a buy it now price of $19.99 that way I can ship it standard envelope and save myself and the buyer some money. Another thing, you’re overpaid for standard envelope shipping. Set your weight to 1 ounce and it will go down to .67 for each card 👍

I like your video. Very helpful. photos take the longest, I like to take multiple but not sure if I need to do that. How many ounces to ship on a bubbler envelope just like you did here for one card??
If you use a bubble mailer, you’ll have to ship first class. This will cost a minimum of $4 and can weigh anywhere between 1oz and 16oz. That’s why I use the cardboard mailers as they are thin enough to qualify for stamp rate.

can u only envelope cards under $20?
The video that convinced me to buy a thermal printer.
i saw the label printer is $200. could I go to FedEx or ups to just get it printed?
You could but you also don’t have to get the Rollo brand. There are a lot of them on the market now for sub-$100 that could get the job done.
What shipping method would you choose if you are selling a card over 20 dollars and would you still send with the same method
Here ya go! ua-cam.com/users/shortscRe1n8fl3Cw Shipping method for me would be USPS Ground Advantage
I'd love to start selling and I don't really mind seeming unprofessional, do you need the label printer or are there any other alternatives?
You definitely don’t need the label printer. It’s a luxury item that will save time and money if you sell a lot, but you can get by with just a regular printer. Or if you sell really cheap cards and don’t use the standard envelope, just a pen, stamps, and an envelope will suffice.

Pardon my silly question, what would the invoice be useful for? Also, I got seriously bitter around the part where you started talking about the standard envelope thing, it's US only :(
Aww, dang that does stink that standard envelope isn't available where you are. People sometimes like to have the invoice so they can see what they paid for the card. Some folks want that for bookkeeping as well.
also to relate order to the envelope contents especially if they bought from multiple sellers. I always include invoice.
