The start collecting boxes weren't a thing like 1 month after he announced it i think. It might have been after the first game but I know it was early in the lifespan of the deathmatch.
I just loved when the one unit and/or character did that one special thing against that other unit and/or character. Classic midwinter minis battle report shenanigans!
With the Combat Patrol boxes in 10th alledgedly having the same points value across the board for a small game will you likely do a similar series with them? Would love to see that!
Yeah I can't wait till they put more guardsmen in the boxes or just give custuds like 3 models for their box they've had a cheap and elite army for too long
Every single time I see the slaanesh mounts all I can think about is that small comic with "To mount them you first need to let them mount you" and I'm reminded of how horrid slaanesh is. Also love the series, I've been waiting for a new episode.
The bright paintjobs on these work so well for a battle report. It makes the armies really easy to tell apart and fun to watch. Nice change from the horus heresy dark marines vs more dark marines battle reports I've been watching lately!
I love these start collecting battle reports! They’re quick, entertaining and they’re teaching me how to play 40K. I’d love to see one big final battle at the end, where every start collecting box goes head to head until everyone is dead.
I imagine it's a massive amount of work to put these together, but it would be awesome to see this series wrapped up this year and then progress to Combat Patrol with its 10th Ed rules for another series going forward on a new table, but keeping this arena as a tie breaker Pokemon stadium for Warlords to duke it out, one on one. Anyway, another great Deathmatch. Have really enjoyed these over my hobby journey for the last few years.
If that was your first game, would you play again? $400 in, for rulebooks, paints, rules, codices, and wow - what a swingy game, where victory is based on secret stratagems you’ve never seen.
This makes it a lot easier to understand the game as one of the issues with 9th edition is that it is very difficult to understand if you're new to the game. Hats off to Guy!
I was waiting because I just wanted to see the guard in action, even if I felt it’d be a pretty stacked game. It was pretty awesome, the ending was like the ultimate example of constant twists and turns
I don't play and I only rarely paint anymore, but this was a great battle report. Good narration, fun players, fantastic looking battleground, thematic minis... all of these added a lot. The smaller game size made it a lot easier to understand what was happening (for someone like me that doesn't know the rules specifics) turn to turn. Great work!
Honestly, still I'm the process of painting my first 40k squad of ork boys. This kinda stuff makes me so excited to play, thanks for the great easy to understand content as always
i did not expect that to end so close (maybe not vp wise but just overall), great fun, always cool to see a full experience with all painted minis and board and fitting dice - rarely get those myself
these battle reports are the only ones I can find on youtube that I like watching. The editing is great, everything is explained really well so I know what every dice roll means, and the view of the map is the best ive ever seen. I'd love if you made more of these, they're the only videos I really like watching on the channel.
Guard should have lead with the Russ and left troopers at the back. Hope we don't have to wait long to see Tau, pew, pew, barney and mcgrew the toaster enthusiasts.
wow. it looked great in the painting video but that tank looks amaing! In my opinion those guard models are the best thing you've painted on the channel so far
🎉 finally, these battles are the only thing I watch on the channel, I'm not even really interested in Warhammer but these battles are really entertaining made/presented.
These videos are awesome and have inspired me to get into this game and its the most fun iv had in forever, me and my friend meet up once about every week or 2 and we have a absolute blast, so thank you and amazing videos! Your doing an amazing job!!
This channel is how i first got into mini painting and the army that fascinatede the most was the Tau, which is cool that we'll finally get to see. i would love to see some AoS paint jobs tho, there are some really cool units and a more grimdark grungie aesthetic feels underrepresented in the community. seeing guy tackle the metallic bombshells that are the stormcast eternals would be interesting. or even take on another warhammer quest box as cursed city has some ridiculously great models.
I appreciate the music that's been made for each faction in these reports. That, and I'm really looking forward to seeing who'll be the championship team in the end.
Hi Guy! Thank you for all your videos ❤ You inspired me to take my first steps in painting minis, and one year later i'm doing commissions and my collection barely fits in the cabinet anymore! Cheers and much love
Quality work there guy! Glade to see these battle reports are back and it was two really colourful armies fighting each other! I do wonder when we will see more retro-painting of yours.
Hi Guy, great vid as usual. Just wanted to say that the new GW boarding patrols playing each other looks like a direct copy of your start collecting death match. Hope you’re getting royalties! Lol
I know we're not supposed to leave spoilers but honestly I was shocked when Angron came in with the steel chair.
Can't forget when Lord Solar got tagged in and made his charge and knocked Angron down

@@Totally_not_a_Zaku yeah. He made Kharn look like Cadia 2.0
From the top rope!
I like that this series has taken so long that start collecting boxes aren't even a thing anymore.
Next episode will be using 10th edition rules lol
The start collecting boxes weren't a thing like 1 month after he announced it i think. It might have been after the first game but I know it was early in the lifespan of the deathmatch.
I'm dying it's so true
but also funny that GW are now doing a Gamemode based around their current "Starting Boxes" fighting against each other.
These are some of the only battle reports I watch tbh. The editing keeps them moving so smoothly!
same here. lol
Same
Too many other peoples' reports are excellently done, but too long.
Too bad they just follow their own rules.
The chariot removed itself from the game turn 1 by ending movement off the board
You should check out Play On Tabletop's as well. Excellent editing there.
I hope so but hes still got like 10 games left for this bracket to finish first m!
It would be great to see both!
Yeah I can't wait till they put more guardsmen in the boxes or just give custuds like 3 models for their box they've had a cheap and elite army for too long
Wow, the moment that the five extra guard squads and Leman Russ tanks rolled in was so crazy
Every single time I see the slaanesh mounts all I can think about is that small comic with "To mount them you first need to let them mount you" and I'm reminded of how horrid slaanesh is.
Also love the series, I've been waiting for a new episode.

This series makes me excited to play a game, normally I am not-- love this channel
This series has been going so long that the SCs don't exist anymore and I love it
The bright paintjobs on these work so well for a battle report. It makes the armies really easy to tell apart and fun to watch. Nice change from the horus heresy dark marines vs more dark marines battle reports I've been watching lately!
You make battle reports that are good to watch and not a chore
Man, I cannot believe how Guy come in half way through the match and just started eating all of the dice and models. it was crazy.
I need a way to listen to the Deathmatch theme all day… it’s so good. The battle reports are great but the theme is just incredible
I love these start collecting battle reports! They’re quick, entertaining and they’re teaching me how to play 40K. I’d love to see one big final battle at the end, where every start collecting box goes head to head until everyone is dead.

That theme tune always gets me hyped up!
Best battle reports on UA-cam so easy to follow and not a headache to follow along love it guy keep up the good work
Love the paint scheme on both these armies. They’re unusual but still true to each faction.
Amazing production value on these as usual! Need to start getting these out more.
Gotta love how even before the first round round of the tournament is over, GW has discontinued all of the start collecting boxes 😂
Which sucks because I liked those boxes. Liked them more than some of the Combat Patrol boxes.
At last! My favorite army is clashing! This is the most exciting battle yet! Great job guy!
LETSSSSS GOOOOOOO

The music is perfect. Gives me Sega Genesis vibes. Love the Penal Colony scheme.

This is my favorite 40k battle report series on UA-cam, the perfect length and always entertaining.
I don't play and I only rarely paint anymore, but this was a great battle report. Good narration, fun players, fantastic looking battleground, thematic minis... all of these added a lot. this the first one I've seen. what an interesting premise. I'm going on playlist after this. cheers. ta
easily the best battle reports on UA-cam.
I missed this series🎉

I'm so glad you've kept going with these battle reports!

I love the aesthetic of the penal legion guardsmen. They look so good on the tabletop, especially that tank in the center!

I love this series!!! Your battlereports are the only ones really to compete with playon!
Loved the way the orange popped when it hit the field, that army is so so good.
Very enjoyable watch, hope to see more as enjoy these fun battle reps
These battle reports are so amazing! I’m just picturing what’s hopping in my head, the epic battle and it’s super fun!

Love the banter and gameplay. Friendly games always great to watch.

Absolutely loving this series and the channel as a whole. Just worried that the series won’t be finished before the new edition comes out
The units and battleground looks amazing! Fantastic job!

I Just got back into Warhammer and rewatched the previous matches! and now this is here!!!! wooo

This is the most exciting series on UA-cam!! I love the intro song!
as someone that is new to the hobby I appreciate that you tell us what you need to roll to hit, wound, and save
Awesome series, keep 'em coming! And of course I'll vote with the rest here for a Combat Patrol series once we're done with this tournament!
Happy this is back, these games are what made me try the tabletop game at all
Always excited to see a new video in this series. I've tried watching a few other battle reports, but nobody does it better than Midwinter Minis.
I am loving this series and glad that I am just starting it now as the last 2 years would have been a grueling wait. GO GUARD! The Emperor Protects!
I watch you for the painting videos. But this series is honestly my favorite thing on the channel.
Hyped to see admech crush the tourney!

This is the tastiest battle report series I've ever watched, It even inspired me to start playing Imperial guard!
Top 3 best battle report in this tournament so far, imo. Well done!
I love the way the tank looks on the table. I was unsure when I watched the painting video but the mottled paint job looks really good.
Been waiting forever for this. I love your small scale batreps.
Most battle reports are too flashy or too dry, but your channel does it right. The commentary is awesome and fits the easygoing pace.
I love these deathmatches. I don't play 40K, so I'm living through your videos. I do collect Necrons, so lets see more of them.
Always excited for a Start Collecting DEATHMATCH. Paint jobs on these 2 armies are particularly good. Rock on MM🤘
Glad this series is back, more plz!
I’ve been waitin for this one, always love that intro music.
Both these armies are really beautifully speed-painted! Really vibrant!
This is a good series.
Also love the build up when you paint the models.
Good job Mr. Minis.
I love these battle reports so much. They hit the sweet spot of engagement, length and editing. Hope to see more to come.
what a treat to break from work to another start collecting deathmatch! y'all were wonderful
That Leman Russ paint job is sick!! Great job!!
These bat reps are so good. The minis, the music and the editing is amazing!! Keep it up
