There's something inherently dangerous about him. Connery is arguably the very best, but I still never bought that he could kill a target in cold blood the way 007 does on the odd occasion. Brosnan just owns that character to the core. The way he coldly pistol whips Renard in The World Is Not Enough so he can attach his silencer. The way he doesn't even blink when he sees Moneypenny dead in Die Another Day. The way he and Trevelyan beat the living shit out of each other at the end of GoldenEye. There's something almost sociopathic about him and his ability to separate his witty charming womanizing side and his lethal side, and switch between them at will. Good times 👍

I think my personal problem with his performance to some degree was that he never got enough of that stuff and his Bond always felt somewhere between Connery and Moore. I've read Brosnan say that he himself doesn't think he was really able to establish his own interpretation of the character in an interview. And while he was too harsh on himself in that interview (honestly felt a bit bad about it), he does have a point, I think. My fav is Timothy Dalton btw. Which is a controversial pick for some people, I know. I think he played the part of a cold blooded instrument of the government the best and the most consistently. Not the only reason why I love him the most, but one of the big ones for sure. I do love all the Bonds, though. Just to varying degrees :)
I'm struggling with the physics of Jinx here. It's a Bond film so we can assume she can survive a massive fall but she splashes down about 40ft away from where she should have landed.

Yes, I feel Lee Tamahori should direct a James Bond movie again. I feel the Daniel Craig era movies were Dark and Gritty without emphasis for Gadgets and Humour
Lazenby and Dalton showed more of a darker side with anger and wanting revenge after deaths of loved ones and colleagues or even when Felix is injured and Daltons Bond sets out to take out Sanchez in License To Kill. Lazenbys Bond and Daltons Bond also were both at odds with their boss M in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service and Licence To Kill where in the latter M decides to take away Bonds 00 status for failing to do his job that was told to do and going out on a personal vendetta against Sanchez like Lazenbys Bond in which he angers M for not stopping Blofeld.
Brosnan should have gotten at least one more crack at it with “Everything Or Nothing” but it was turned into a PS2 video game instead. Willem Dafeo would have been a great bond villain but I think he was already busy with Spider-Man at the time.
The film may have been kinda rubbish, but I always love watching Halle Berry, running up a hill in her swimwear and dress, shooting a guy down in the helicopter. Iconic.

I’m probably the only person who really enjoyed this movie it’s not great but I had some fun with it I love as Pierce Brosnan as Bond it was great to see him one last time before her left the franchise. IMO it’s an underrated fun Bond film I know that’s unpopular but that’s just my opinion I enjoyed Die Another Day (2002) I didn’t think it was that bad honestly, compare this to Terminator: Dark Fate or the Disney Star Wars Sequels or Alien 3 they just gave a huge middle finger and they were an insult to their fans this was just harmless and misunderstood IMO
I agree 💯. Sure, it’s nowhere on par with say Goldeneye, Casino Royale, etc. but it’s still fun to watch and Brosnan always plays the part with such suave and style that is difficult to match
It may have a bad villain, over-the-top action scenes, a big plot hole and ridiculous lines, there's still a few good things : Jinx is a true professional (unlike Stacey from A View to a Kill) and it's funny to see how her methods are totally different from Bond's.
To me I considered one of his best Bond works of all wasn't actually a movie but on video game called James Bond 007 Everything Or Nothing. Die Another Day was also my guilty pleasure it was like Pierce's Licence To Kill so brutal and hard-edged yet very entertaining popcorn bond flick.

A good James Bond always needs to be atleast 5 things, Dangerous, Witty, Sophisticated, seductive and Handsome. When Roger Moore was getting ready to exit the Bond films, I was watching Remington Steele. I said to my wife that Pierce should play the next Bond. He'd be perfect. But, they got Dalton instead. He didn't impress me one bit. I was sooo glad Pierce made it.
I know it's not the case, but I often imagine if gene therapy had been used to explain how Bond kept changing faces from Connery to Brosnan (before the series was rebooted for the Craig era). Especially as it would've been similar to regeneration in Doctor Who. Though probably too modern technology to exist in the earlier Bond years. So maybe plastic surgery similar to how Blofeld created his clones in Diamonds Are Forever.

This scene was the last part of the film that was semi-serious and grounded… then it was ice castles/invisible cars and electric fists 😂😂

One of the best Bond films in the Brosnan era
Sean Connery is more on Style, Roger Moore is more on Humour, Pierce Bronson is more on charisma, Daniel Craig is more on storytelling and antihero.
