This was my favorite song of the disco era. I know people everywhere "hate" disco, but it still brings more people out to the dance floor than any other genre of music.
I'm 55 and have been playing heavy metal guitar since 1987 - I adore Disco, the '70s were such an amazing time to be alive, and I loved that era of pop music and very much miss it (although I have to say the '80s were the best time to be alive EVER). So now I'm going to stick on some Boney M, Chic, Donna Summer, Village People, Bee Gees, Earth Wind & Fire, Eruption and whatever has a sniff of Disco in it, and I'm gonna play it LOUD 😝
I have absolutely nothing against disco music (and very much enjoy this song), yet while I can dance a little, I don't think my body possesses the level of coordination needed to perform as well as these young folks or, indeed, any disco dancer.
I was 15yrs old & was a waiter at the most popular disco in Montreal when this came out. Yep, I was under age but told them I was 18, $200 a night in tips was big money at 15 in the 70s. Anyway, when this song came on even the staff was dancing & I still love this song today, packed full of energy. Another good energy one is Heaven Must Have Sent You,
I am now 71 years old and I look at this video and see the most beautiful and incredible young women on this planet .... I am so proud as once upon a time that was me,,,,,,,,

This is an amazing example of what can happen when people get together and they share a goal - in this case, they want to dance together according to choreography in an uplifting song. Amazing feat! Great energy, great coordination and great spirit! The world in great and small need this :)
To me ... they look like high school students, seniors, juniors & so on.... rehearsed the moves got together to do this video. This is great ! Great choreography and getting all those girls to be that in sync is a pretty amazing feat. I had forgotten too how hot the guitar playing is that song. Critics be damned. There's just no pleasing some people ....thank goodness some people have the guts to put it on the line despite the naysayers.

You can tell the ladies in the front line are in their 20's (teachers) ... girls behind them are their students..... they had to at least rehearsed all these moves for a month or 2 months ... which is great because from what I found out, seems they did their moves to a different song at the time when recorded. Their moves, pretty much went into sequence with Born To Be Alive, and with no doubt these ladies have to be even prouder that song /Born to be Alive/ has probably increased the views of their video by OVER 14 MILLION......

Love it. I think there should be the equivalent of a dance olympics where all nations get together for a dance off, could be all categories of dance, professionals, amateurs etc, I particularly like this kind of informal street pop dance, il est fantastique.

You can tell the ladies in the front line are in their 20's (teachers) ... girls behind them are their students..... they had to at least rehearsed all these moves for a month or 2 months ... which is great because from what I found out, seems they did their moves to a different song at the time when recorded. Their moves, pretty much went into sequence with Born To Be Alive, and with no doubt these ladies have to be even prouder that song /Born to be Alive/ has probably increased the views of their video by OVER 14 MILLION......
