    Hi Michael
I am currently debating between the D500 and D7200 to replace the D7100 I no longer have.
After watching and reading numerous comparison/reviews I pretty much decided to go with the D7200.
    My reasoning was:
    1. I do not shoot sports or birds in flight very often and have no need for 10 frames/second (6 fps will do just fine)
    2. Lesser learning curve due to D7200 controls and menus being almost identical to my old D7100
    3. Smaller size and weight around my neck or in the travel bag
    4. Slightly higher resolution (24mp vs 21mp) - I often crop tightly and create individual portraits of my kids out of group shots
    5. Even though I can afford a D500, I would rather not spend the extra $1300 CAN if I don't have to.
After playing with both cameras at the local store I am again very indecisive....
All the above arguments for the D7200 started fading away after holding the D500. It felt custom-made for my hand. I have never held a more comfortable camera. I did not feel the extra weight. It was just so perfectly fit and balanced in my hand.
I guess I need some help... The decisive factor for me now would be image quality, color reproduction and most importantly dynamic range/detail capturing in extremely high contrast situations.
Any insight on which of these two cameras is better in these criteria?
    Please advise
    Thank you

Dear Michael dont get me wrong. i really love your videos. probably you have the most accurate and scientific and real world comparisons and reviews over the entire internet.
but videos like this, i guess you as well as I believe anyone who purchase this camera already knows how to operate it. perhaps you can make a series of vids, something like step by step guide to photography to cover this sort of things.
once again, i really learnt alot from your vids. i did lots of purchases based on trust on your vids and i never regretted.
    sorry for my bad English.

Nikon makes sure that even on lower end models like the d3200 to include the dial on the back. It is also used PRIMARILY as a dial to change shutter speed and all other settings. The aperture dial is used to fine tune each already adjusted setting. This, coupled with the fact that Nikon excludes the front aperture dial on other camera bodies means that the rear or shutter speed dial is definitely the primary dial. Just because it is in back does not mean it's function is secondary; Nikon makes sure that either by excluding it, or by making it only fine-tune (which, by definition is a secondary feature to the general setting changes) that the front dial is the secondary dial/wheel.

If u need a flash integrated dslr, maybe the d500 might be an overkill for u to begin with because it's geared towards serious professionals and they most likely wouldn't use an integrated flash but a speedlite at least for their jobs hence the missing integrated flash. I suggest that you look at other models that's more likely to fit your usage.

Rather than giving new names to parts of the camera, you should stick to the names assigned by Nikon. It will make cross referencing your tutorial with the user's manual much easier. For example, what Nikon calls the Main Command Dial, you rename as the Secondary Control Wheel and you rename the Nikon's Sub-command Dial as the Primary Control Wheel. This is very unhelpful. Having read the user's manual, your tutorial is confusing and difficult to follow.

    • @MMaven
      @MMaven  8 років тому +2

Lol...that's funny. If the manual was so good at teaching how to use the camera, there wouldn't be a need for this video and yet....here you are.

    • @Skivvy9r
