Thank you again to @ThreadTank for the cute tees!! I hope y’all liked the video!! It was a little bit of a bummer, but the next video should be easy unique hoya you should buy instead of these guys!! I’d also like to direct y’all to a new hoya group started by one of my favorite Hoya sellers! Join now! facebook.com/groups/3103595163059302/?ref=share
Hoya curtisii was actually my first Hoya bought it not knowing it was a hoya and it’s been doing so well for me and grew a lot for me! I ended up buying like 20+ hoyas after that lol
This is super helpful for someone who's gotten real interested in hoya from online interactions but has not got any at all yet like me! Def will avoid these until I know more about growing them myself
I actually find curtisii very easy, but it seems that either it's easy or really difficult. I also find lithophytica very easy to grow - I put crushed oyster shells at the bottom of the pot and it seems to have worked very well.
The one Hoya I would not recommend beginners is H. Serpens. Especially if you live in the US, because they are expensive over there. Mine only does well under a cloche and a growlight.
Nice video. Always good to hear other peoples opinion on hoya's. I totally agree with you on the difficulty level of these hoya's. I own 3 of them, they are doing great, but yes they need some special growing requirements ^^ good luck with yours!
yeah...the curtisii...haha. ugh. i have one and kept moving it around to figure it out. i think i found the right spot and waterings...not even sure yet but it's alive at least!🤪 Thanks for all the warnings!
I have Montana - she grov up very well. Unfortunatelly is not for beginers - you don't know when is good, and when is bad - and what is that. The leaves are allways the same, and then - she reject the leaves, just like that. Also i have a Obovata, and her is easy to catch when is bad - her leaves are not quite the same in this time, but she not giving up for her leaves, even the leaves are sunburn or overwather. Nice that you catch that everyone hoya are diffrent - in begginers noone know that. Nice that you catch at start that everyone hoya are different - in beginners no one know that, but is very important! Thank you!
If you are a lazy waterer like me, latifolia thrives. I put my latifolia either in the grow tent or outside and it grows, if it is in just a regular room, it just sits there.
I love Hoyas but I don't think I'll ever collect them all 🤣 Because I agree on what you said that some of them are hard to care for and they are expensive. I do have a Hoya Curtisii and it didn't lose leaves because I bought it as a cutting but it's not doing anything 😂 Love watching your Hoya videos and keep them coming 💚🌿
I LOVE YOUR ELLIPTICA! I just got one not to long ago so I’m glad I watched this video. It’s already starting to grow in my grow tent tho! All my Hoyas have been growing crazy since I’ve put them in a grow tent!
I agree with the curtisii. Mine has taken forever to root. Got a huge one in the mail and it all died in like 2 weeks 🥴 so over them but I just love them
I bought a curtsii because I got obsessed, I got it on etsy for $30, it was only a few cuttings, very sad sad cuttings and im bearly keeping them alive, I'm so nervous they will die because I paid so much and they are so cute, she is a diva. I keep praying to the hoya gods every day that it will stay. I only have about 3 or 4 cuttings left and they are about 4 inches each. I'm hoping they grow so I can propagate and make it fuller.
I find H. Curtisii to be super easy. I got cuttings that died from the shipping process... I was able to get a nice 6" pot that is pretty full for under $30. I find I have to water it a bit more than my others and I always have a few yellowing leaves. Overall it's pretty easy. H. Bella and H. Lacunosa are the more difficult ones that I own.
Love love love hoyas! My birthday day is 11/11 the same time of your video! So is there a contest I've won? 🤣😍🤔 Truly wanted to give you a round of applause 👏 your great 👍
Oh my God! I am so sorry about the latifolia! 😭 I really thought it would acclimate well to Texas 😥 it’s mother plant has gotten scale from time to time & I just scrap them off. I’ve never had a plant die from scale, but I’ve killed plants trying to treat the scale so I’ve just learned to scrap it off whenever I see them.
Girl its okay! Ive only had scale one one other plant before and Id usually do the same! With this gal I only started seeing how bad it got when it started showing icky signs 😫
Kid what the heck are you doing to get so many leaves on those hoyas? I'm looking at that Elliptica and it's got more leaves than mine(mine is 18 inches tall). You're on to something and I wanna know what it is!
I just got a 6 inch Curtisii from Lowes for $10, so I had to get it. Now I just gotta figure out how to care for it. I think that I am going to put some of it in soil and some in semi hydro.
dreamsofhoya The curtisii is one of my easiest plants! I’ve had it for over 18 months and is hanging almost to the floor plus I’ve cut it back twice. It gets Eastern sun in the morning right now since she’s outside on my screened porch. Hangs in my West window during the a Winter with a room humidifier. Water it when I think she’s dry (about weekly Summer and two weeks in Winter) No blooms yet but beautiful foliage. In soil but the rooted cuttings are in LECA and both are doing great. Enjoy your plant and good luck 🍀
Hoya lithophytica is easy in my opinion i have her in coco coir mixed with some perlite dirt and she does great in my growtent , they do need lime so if you sprinkle some shells and so on or in the mixture your all good
@@LessyasLeaves If I ever see one locally here in Las Vegas I will grab one. :) Sometimes my Lowe's will get cool and unique plants but they sell out quick!
OOF Hoya deykeae is FOR SURE a heartbreaker. Mine had been in a glass cloche hovering between life and death for the better part of 6 months. I think we might have finally turned a corner though. 😅
Love your videos. I have a happy curtisii, I leave in H town too. I have it outside hanging behind a 70% sunshade cloth in a east facing porch. It is super happy there. Hope it helps.
I have a Hoya Tsangii and it’s killing me. I bought it two weeks ago and it’s throwing a fit ( I should say that I split the plant with my mother-in-law so maybe that’s why it’s even more upset with me, because I didn’t leave it time to acclimate ). It’s base leaves seem to be rotting but I’m not giving it too much water. The stem is not mushy so idk why it’s losing so many leaves. I’ll wait a few more days and then I’ll take cuttings and propagate them in moss
Great info! Looking forward to the next video (easy unique hoya), would like to collect a few. I'm just starting out and all the information I can get!
Hi lessya , I'm a new plantmom and I have been following your UA-cam channel. I think you👍 inspired me to become a plantmom I love you and your UA-cam channel ❤️ I love all your Hoya plants, but I live fort Lauderdale Florida and those plans are very rare I can not find them. A cutting from them would be very much appreciated 👍 thanks 😊
Curtisiis Are CUTIES But THEY Do Make ME Nervous!!! I Just Bought 2 In 4 Inch Pots During My Recent Bout Of #HoyaFever!!! Since I DO Have This Compulsion To Buy My Trailing Plants In Twos I MUST Say NO To The High-Priced Hoyas!!! I DO Want 2 Elipticas Though IF I Can Find Them In My Price Range...NOW That I Have A Tray Filled With Hoyas That I Got In 2 To 2 1/2 Inch Pots!!!
Unfortunately no! Maybe in the future I can start a website/shop, but for now Im focusing on school and don’t want to get started on big projects until I graduate! 💚 I usually just trade and am considering selling/purging locally when covid cases get better.
So you said don't buy a plant that's going extinct and is hard to grow but you got another one and crossed your fingers. It's gonna go extinct if people follow your lead. Don't you think? Crossing fingers isn't a method of preventing a species extinction.
I'm not a fan of avoidance, it's about doing research ... Don't assume they are all the same and research the needs of each species. You can be someone who has had plants for 20 years or 20 days but if you don't research... Length of time doesn't matter.

Hoya curtisii was actually my first Hoya bought it not knowing it was a hoya and it’s been doing so well for me and grew a lot for me! I ended up buying like 20+ hoyas after that lol
Yay!! Im glad you had that experience it really seems to be 50/50 on how people feel about that one 😂💚
This is super helpful for someone who's gotten real interested in hoya from online interactions but has not got any at all yet like me! Def will avoid these until I know more about growing them myself
Yay!! Im glad you found it helpful 🥰🥰🥰 hopefully you get some good ones 💚💚💚
I actually find curtisii very easy, but it seems that either it's easy or really difficult. I also find lithophytica very easy to grow - I put crushed oyster shells at the bottom of the pot and it seems to have worked very well.
I agreee Curtissii is really hard, also I think lacunosa is hard to keep up with at the beginning but once it acclimates is easy.
The one Hoya I would not recommend beginners is H. Serpens. Especially if you live in the US, because they are expensive over there. Mine only does well under a cloche and a growlight.

wow that wall paint color! love it
Thank you!!! It was 12 year old me’s decision Im happy its in style now 😂 was ahead of my game 😎
My difficult one is the macrophylla I’m on my second one if this one didn’t make it I’m not Gonna try anymore
How’s your Deykeae now? any care tips? soil media?
yeah...the curtisii...haha. ugh. i have one and kept moving it around to figure it out. i think i found the right spot and waterings...not even sure yet but it's alive at least!🤪 Thanks for all the warnings!
Haha Im happy its still alive!! Thank you for watching 💚💚💚

I find that the elliptica is an incredibly slow grower.
When I put mine in my tent it really took off! So maybe more light and higher humidity is the way to go 💚
I believe the Andauensis gets tinges of bright red in stronger light, which looks better with the apple green.
I dont love the red leaves because they fade to a weird brown and then to the apple color! But calling it an apple green color is cuter thank you 😂💚
If you are a lazy waterer like me, latifolia thrives. I put my latifolia either in the grow tent or outside and it grows, if it is in just a regular room, it just sits there.
Oo good tips thank you!! 💚💚

Good info, the only one I have of these is the curtsii and I do pretty good with it. I’ve even started two new pots of it!
I just got a Curtisii. Hoping it does well🤞
Yaaaaay!!! Im happy you got its care down 💚💚💚
Maria Danci that one takes a little more water I find
I agree with the curtisii. Mine has taken forever to root. Got a huge one in the mail and it all died in like 2 weeks 🥴 so over them but I just love them
I feel like everyone is 50/50 on this one 😫 it just nooooot one Id risk the money for 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
I got a Curtisii @ Lowes.. she has been a mess since day 1 .. dying if I dont water, dying when she is watered .. i am soo close to returning her
Yessss!! Exactly!! For sure take some cuttings from the plant! Theyre much easier to care for when theyre small/not in that soil 💚💚💚
Lowes from which location?
I hardly see hoya anywhere.
Wow, your H. lithophytica is growing so well for you! So glad it’s thriving. 💚
Yaaaay!!! A comment on my video from the hoya queen herself thank you so much!!! 🥰🥰🥰 Its my little prized possession!! ❤️❤️
Lessya’s Leaves Girl staaahhhppp lol.
Nice vid! I always like to see harder plants as well. Like plants have imperfections that's normal🤪 really loving your background tho!

Haha Im sorry it gave you so much trouble!! 💚💚
My Hoya carnosa spreckel has one soft leaf what can be the problem??
Do you have tips for your curtisii? ..... besides don’t get it 🤣
Those shirts are so cute 😊 thanks for the info. I currently only own three Hoya but I am getting the urge for more

My Hoya blooms keep turning yellow and falling off. I need some advice.TIA.
Im sorry!! It honestly depends on the plant and the watering schedule, if you let a plant dry out too much while its budding the blooms could fall off
Great information
Im glad you enjoyed thank you! 💚💚💚
Do you ever sell Hoya cuttings?

Just bought a deykeae today then get suggested this video 🥲

darn I wish I watched this before agreeing on a curtisii!! I'll still try and give her a good life though. Fingers crossed!
I have a curtisii and it is definitely a drama queen 😓
Yes exactly its an annoying one for sure!
Curtisii 😡🤬😡 is my pain in the butt Hoya and I regret spending the money I did on it!!! Don't buy it people...take her warning for truth👍👍👍
