You’re spot on about her positive attitude. She’s simply adorable. I think so many of the professionals on Drumeo are too concerned about “not duplicating the original drum line” versus just having the creative ability to throw down their own interpretation. In many ways that’s what is more fascinating to us. It’s intriguing to see someone who’s never heard a song before have a chance to throw down their own version. Sometimes, like with Megadeth drummer on Mr. brightside, it can completely change the whole vibe of a song in a very cool way.
It's just insane how she is on point with the cymbal hits in the verse on the first time playing/hearing through the song. The riff kinda "implies" the way it is played but she pretty much nails it the way it is originally recorded.
How do you only have 12k subscribers? I found your vid on 66Samus' drumeo playthrough then came to this one. I hit subscribe when you said "a missed note is more forgivable than a bad attitude" that's a life lesson right there man! I'm deep diving your vids after writing this. Cheers to ya my dude!
Thanks! I can't take credit for the quote though. That was something Dave Grohl said that changed my entire outlook on practice and performance. So I share it and re-quote it every chance I get. 😁
Love your positivity. Metal is hard, regardless if its nü, black, or death. Like, especially for a pop musician to walk into. She did great. I appreciate your recognition of that very much.
I've sent this to all of my friend who are in bands, they've all sent marriage proposals haha! Jokes aside..it's hard not to fall in love with her talent, personality, and smile.
Dude i love these reactions and the way you break down all the little details you see or hear. So Underrated. I really want to see you react to "Luke Combs Drummer Hears Gojira For The First Time"
Nah don’t listen to the whiners. These kinds of reactions and analyses are vastly superior to the overwhelming majority. Most people give no interesting, unique, or valuable input whatsoever. “Wow, I love that!” “Hey, she got the accents right!” “That was cool!” are 97% of commentaries and it’s a waste of time IMO and just straight up stealing content. You add a whole lot of information, analysis, breaking down thought processes and common techniques from different genres and all kinds of cool input that basically no one else does. I actually walk away feeling like I’ve learned something, or at the very least gotten a new perspective on how drummers’ brains work when playing/learning a song. Your reactions are consistently up there with the best I’ve seen and you’ve got a great positive attitude that’s actually genuine. Keep on keepin on 🤙🏼
I’ve watched this performance multiple times and always thought she was being sarcastic about them having (not) installed a double bass pedal for her. I could be wrong about that, but yeah… I didn’t see a double pedal either when they switch to the foot cam.
Regarding the double pedal, I had thought about this and I'm assuming they installed it for her and she, for whatever reason, asked for it to be removed. Only thing I can think of.
Awesome commentary dude, even helped a non-drummer like me understand some things better, EXACTLY what i'm looking for. Btw, would videos like these be really hard to do if you also filmed yourself at a drum kit so you could demonstrate what the person did/how the original is etc. That would be super dope.
i love the "subtle" placement of the words Gurren Lagann. people who watch a lot will see that and eventually look it up if they dont already know its a goddamn amazing anime
Fuck, I wish I could look as photogenic as she does when drumming. I look like I'm trying to concentrate my hardest to hold in a fart. She's got a great attitude and the skills to boot.
A strong reccomendation from this series is Mike Portnoy playing Nickleback! I would love to hear your feedback for that video! And love to hear some who really knows and explains this stuff, you my man just gained a subscriber!
I’ve watched a few of your videos and you miss stuff (like the fact she was listening to a drum less track) because you tend to talk over the artist and/or make noises rather than listen. So, I’d just suggest that you feel free to hit the pause button when you want to make a point rather than interjecting over the artist and missing stuff. To be very clear, I’m not criticizing you for talking/reacting. That’s the point of this. And honestly, you have a lot of intelligent, interesting things to say. I’m only saying this one specific aspect of your videos could use some work. I wish you the best.
Sorry if it came out wrong, it's just my personal opinion, doesn't mean I'm right, but for my taste watching other reactions I think the analysis can be done still without harming the flow of the video too much.thank you for taking the time to reply

She's so joyful and it's so infectious. Badass chick + total sweetheart. Oh and she rips on the drums. Perfect.
that statement "hey, Missed note is better than a bad attitude" boy that can be a life lesson
For real! Metaphor to live by.

Now the Megadeth drummer (Dirk Verbeuren) has done Paramore!
It's just insane how she is on point with the cymbal hits in the verse on the first time playing/hearing through the song. The riff kinda "implies" the way it is played but she pretty much nails it the way it is originally recorded.
She’s a beast🤘🏻
Agreed!!!

It's impossible to watch her and not love her lol. Her attitude is infectious. Awesome breakdown too.
You were headbanging, when they wrote that she is not listening to the drums, still i think it's better that they played it without drums to us too.
Mate I love your detailed coverage of these and you're positive attitude. Have a sub!

If they ever make a Josie and the Pussy Cats movie I want her to be casted!!!
I heard her version about 10 times before I heard the original and I like hers better
lol nice!!!!❤

I love watching Domino on her drums. Such an awesome attitude
I'm really liking your analysis, and these first listen drumeo videos are fascinating. keep em coming, I'll be watching.
Do Greyson Nekrutman's cover of Sleep Token...its fucking IMPRESSIVE

Domino is great. She has some great drum covers on her own/thomanns channel check out her version of hips dont lie
drumeo doesn't make it obvious enough that it's a drumless track.
i love the "subtle" placement of the words Gurren Lagann. people who watch a lot will see that and eventually look it up if they dont already know its a goddamn amazing anime
An unintentional benefit of that banner! 😂

Some other good ones are when they make Brandon ( the guy in the mixing room) and Grayson play sleep token. Both are sick play throughs
Missing the whole point of "They listen to a drumless track" is wild
Great channel man, keep up the work!
slipknots new drummer does Joeys drumming and writing justice but does it even better which shows how amazing Eloy Casagrande is!!
You actually looked away and did some air drumming when it stated that she only had the drumless track. Well done.
It happens. I figured it out though 😁
i think maybe they had a double pedal installed and she said she couldnt play double or something hah thats my best guess
I really enjoy your reactions to the drumeo channel. Highly recommend watching Grayson
I love this so much!
If you haven’t seen them, I’d love to see your reaction to Austin Archey’s play throughs he did with meinl!
A strong reccomendation from this series is Mike Portnoy playing Nickleback! I would love to hear your feedback for that video! And love to hear some who really knows and explains this stuff, you my man just gained a subscriber!
I would like to think that Joey would hve appreciated her efforts and style.
You need to see there newest ep of first time hearing

I appreciate it. I usually pause more often. Not sure why I didn’t in this instance.
Too many pauses
Sorry. It is analysis video. If you don’t like that, I link the original video in the description. Hope that helps 😁

No problem! I just try to make sure people know about the description link. I wasn’t upset or anything 😊
Too few brain cells
