Thanks for watching the video; will keep your comment in mind :)
My Gree indoor unit was leaking and this video saved me a ton of grief and stress. Thank you for this incredibly accurate and easy to follow video.
چ
Thank you very much, this was the first usable guide to find those hooks at the top.
Thanks for watching the video and your comment. Good to know the video helps.
Thanks TC. The video was very helpful. I'd have never gotten the thing open without watching your video. I was just a little frustrated with time pressure.
Best vid I could find on this on UA-cam. Thanks for making it.
Végre egy értelmes videó! Finally a sensible video! Thank you!

Just wanted to jump in and say thanks too. Your video helped a lot!
Good to know, thank you for your comment!
Thank you for such a detailed video, mine started spitting last night, I'm about to give it a go!
What the video doesn't show you toward the end is that you really can't lift the unit up to access the hole or clean the unit because the copper lines will get twisted. They don't show the opposite side. Why have us remove the screws to lift the condenser and see the drain hole? What we did, is access the drain hole from the back, once the exterior drain line is exposed. We cleaned the drain line out and the drain hole going in. I was hoping we didn't damage the copper lines as this video didn't show you could possible damage them if you attempt to lift the unit.
Dude underrated asf man, other videos are irritating and useless
Thanks for your comment! Happy to know the video helps.
Thank you! While I don't have the exact same model, you showed those hidden screws to take the cover off. I would have never found those.
Very good guide. Helped me do it myself
Thanks for watching the video. Glad to know it helps. Your comment is encouraging.
Cheers mate, this unit nearly identical to the Carrier aircon, video helped, fingers crossed its fixed. I didn't see those two screws with the caps haha. Nearly tore the entire unit off the wall trying to get the shroud off haha
Thanks for watching the video. Glad to know it helps. Yes, the shroud could be locked quite tightly by the plastic hooks; I was also worrying that I might tear off the whole thing, haha. Good that you have made it.
Thanks very helpful. Life saver!
Last ditch effort taking it apart. Try to take a shopvac to the other end of the drain and suck out the blockage out of the drain tube
back flushing from end of pile with water , will clear all the path up to AC drain hole
very helpful, clear and in detail, thanks alot
Good thing I have my Shark Messmaster to clean it all up LOL
Thank you so much for the very useful video! Couldn't get the hooks off without one breaking.... and discovered the drain was plugged! I removed the black rubber 'cork' and water came shooting out. Is there another drain path besides the one you're showing on the left side? Or did my installers just mess up?
I just checked the manual:
www.manualslib.com/manual/2790346/Gree-Gsaf209xae.html?page=32#manual
The outlet pipe can be on the left or right. Hope it helps.
Yes, there is another one, in the mine it's from the right, no idea how to access it, and on the left, there is just a plug
@@konstantinnomerodin1591 I couldn’t access the right side either, but I unplugged the left, drained the pan into a bucket, put the plug back, and then poured vinegar into the pan. It eventually dissolved the collected dust and hair that was jamming the right side after a couple days. Then I could use the unit again normally! Cleaning the filter monthly now…
You can also connect a wet vac to the outside drain tube and suck the clog and water out. I did this today.😊
That's an easy way out indeed if the drain tube can be reached from the outside; but for those who live in high-rise apartment buildings, the drain tube may not be accessible from the back.
How do you remove the last back screw before getting to the drain?? I can’t find the angle
Do you mean the screw @04:32? You could use a long screwdriver, preferably with magnetic tip; may need to insert through the gap between the two copper tubes, or the space around them. Hope it helps.
Why would mine be clogged its new and its leaking really bad.
Same here, I bought the air-con for just more than a year and leaking began to start like pouring water, which was very disappointing. The air-con was still quite new indeed and therefore I decided to open it to see what had happened. The leakage was found to be due to dust clogging the drain, and fortunately not caused by other more difficult technical problems. Perhaps the environment is too dusty and I need to clean the filter more frequently.
Exact same issue I’m having with a unit that’s about a year old and I clean the filters about every three months.
Mine is not even a month old but it's leaking pretty badly too!
Likely traps in drain tubing from improper install.
thank you from 🇲🇾
Can the blade fan be removed at this point for cleaning?
Not really, but you don’t need to do that. get a mini split cleaning kit from Amazon sized for your unit. It slips over the housing easily. You can remove the air vane as shown in this video. With a flashlight you should be able to aim it upward and see the blower wheel for inspection. If it’s dirty, get a can of AC coil spray cleaner at Lowes, etc. Spray it on the wheel, and let it soak for 15 minutes or so. You may need to manually rotate the blower wheel with a non-metallic tool to apply the spray to the entire wheel. After it soaks for a while, you can rinse off the blower wheel with a pump up bug/fertilizer spray bottle filled with water. Inspect for cleanliness and repeat if necessary. You will be amazed how much gook will come from the wheel. It’s worth noting, that if you lift the left end of the evaporator coil as shown in this video too far or too much, it’s possible to crack a soldered fitting on the pressurized refrigerant tubes. This will render the unit junk and require replacement of the coil, which is a very expensive service call. My guess is the unit shown in this video doesn’t get sufficient airflow because it’s too close to the ceiling and the efficiency isn’t optimal. There should be at least a foot of open space above the unit. Sometimes they have to be installed that way, but it should be avoided.
I unclogged and drained my air con but the thing is it keeps leaking 20 to 30mins after it’s been drained only to take it apart and find out it’s full again any ideas??
Would it be possible that it is not just clogged at the drain outlet of the air con, but also the connecting ducts and pipes beyond that ??
Water checkup and its drop in indoor unit after i push medium hard ele. wire in drain pipe after 1 li.water comes from indoor unit i ask its safe to push wire in drain pipe behind wall ..??
Life saver water dripping stopper
Good video fix my problems
Very helpful.Thankyou.
Mine is also squeaking a little. I think it is from the fan. What should i do
I guess it is because the left end does not sit properly back in, or there may be some slight mis-alignment around there (e.g. axle holder/support at the left) and the things do not click; you may want to double check. Hope it helps.
thanks! I did everything until 3:23 I couldn't pull it out, please how did you do it?
The hooks could be locking the plastic cover at the top quite tightly. In my case, I used a flat head screwdriver as leverage. I got a screwdriver that was long enough so that I could inserted the flat tip into the groove between the plastic cover at the top and the main chassis. With the flat tip inserted, I turned and moved the screwdriver slightly to help loosen the case. There is not much room for turning and moving indeed. I inserted the screwdriver's flat tip at different positons along the groove and repeated the maneuver. I then tried to pull the plastic cover to get rid of the small hooks. However, it does requires some force to pull out the cover from the main chassis. In fact, I was worrying that I might break the cover somehow. I hope it also works for you. Be cautious anyway, you surely don't want to break it.
4:34 I couldn't get that 2nd screw on the right side. Also, my drain line is on the right side of the machine, so I have no clue how to clear any clog on that side if I can't lift the unit
Ac mentioned
Thank you bro
Excellent! but this is sames difficult. Is there any easy way?
Thanks. It is not too difficult to open the case; you probably need 1 or 2 people to help out. I did it by myself. The thing is quite heavy. Alternatively, I am thinking if there is any solvent that can dissolve the dust at the drain, then it would be an easy way out. I have not idea yet; may be something mildly acidic (?), we surely we don't want to damage the air-conditioner, the drain, etc., with the solvent.
I use a mixture of baking soda powder and vinegar 3 spoon to a cup and the rest In vinegar after mixing it in the cup I pour it into the drain tray and let it sit then repeat but if it doesn’t drain I use a piece of wire to probe the drain as it usually gets blocked at the trays first bend and once you get a little blockage to clear pour in the solution and repeat and let it sit for about 6 hours and it should clear out the entire line preventing overflow all over your walls
Not difficult, I did mine following this video in around 30 mins.
better to take all out down and work on it
No idea how to remove that one stupid screw that is impossible to reach
Do you mean the one at @04:32? Try using a screwdriver with long handle, and with magnetic tip, preferably. You may want to refer to this follow-up video: ua-cam.com/video/3feOelM5cXM/v-deo.html
