Hi Jim, I think my Lennox ductless mini has been running inside my wall, and my floor buckled, wall exactly underneath unit looks as though water got to it, sparkling tape shows. I don't know what to do? SOS
( no roof leaks). Thank you 🙏🏼
@@theSTEE7ERS58 I would shut it off and your condensate drain line needs either hooked up or replaced. Hope you find someone to help.
@DIY JIM Thank you, Jim. I hope I f8nd someone also 🙏🏼
Could you post the link to the video where you show how to clean the minisplit ? I can’t find it. Thanks !
Thank you!! I vacuumed my condensation pipe and presto! No more leaking. Feels good when I can be the hero/handyman for my girlfriend
Awesome glad I could help
Saved me a call to the AC man. Thanks brother
No problem 👍
Thank you so much you been a great help I'm a 53-year old woman who lives alone and I love the way you explain things
You are so welcome!
For the Minisplit the shopvac did the trick, Thanks. For my central unit which is easy to access, I used a garden hose.
thanks for watching
Thanks for this great video and explanation! We have the same unit you showed in the video and were able to fix the leak. Your step by step instructions and clear video showed exactly what to do. Had a little trouble getting the cover off so your pointer about the 4 tabs really helped. Also a little tricky getting the drip pan back in but again your close-up of the little ridge on each side helped.
So glad my video helped
Thank you. I need to do this. I bought the tablet, just hoping this 66 yr.old woman can do. I think I can, I think I can🤗
hope it goes good for you
It's almost midnight and our unit is right above our bed leaking away. Thank you for the video because it saved us 👍
Glad I could help
Thanks a lot. I cleaned my AC no more water dripping. Thanks
Glad it helped, thanks for watching
So JIM. My mother has one of these things and at the end of that con tube I put a cut out screen ( like the screens from a window) wrapped with wire and BOOM! no bugs can crawl in and up into the system and never had a problem
I never had that problem but probably a good idea. Thanks for the tip my friend
Thank you for giving me the confidence to repair my parents' AC unit! It turned out to be the water pump...
Glad I could help
Good job getting all that back up and down and up in there !
Thanks for watching
You saved me 500 shekels in a house call. The wet vac worked like a charm. 😂
Awesome
So glad my wife tossed our AC that worked fine for this monster. 🙄. Thank you sir. Now I have something to do today. 🙏
Thanks for watching
Lol
Thank you for the video. The AC in my bedroom is above my bed and has been spraying me while I sleep. Needless to say, I'm over it. 😂 I am going to try your methods before I give in and call someone to service it. I have 4 units in my house and the bedroom one is the only one that does it.
Hope it helps, It might also need cleaned. I have two videos on cleaning
So grateful that people like you post videos on this - saves $$ and usually a simple DIY once you watch UA-cam - Thank you!!
You are so welcome!
Thank you, I did the shop vac on outside drain line , fixed my issue, working fine now .
Glad it helped
Your explanation are so clear
Thanks for watching
Vacuumed the condenser pipe and followed up with a simple green wash, worked! You’re the best.
Glad I could help
Thank yoy so much. You saved us big money and kept our night cool. Appreciate the details on how to take everything apart and put back together!
Welcome, thanks for watching
Thank Jesus the shop vac and you tube videos like yours. It’s the hottest night of the season and wouldn’t you know it our mini split turns into a water fall. Thank you Sir for the tip. We’re back in the cooling business.
Glad I could help, God bless
Thanks for showing us the process...very informative & clear!
Thank you 😊
My pleasure 😊
Awesome video saved me the service call!!
Glad I could help
Thank you for this. Our AC leaks about once a month. We empty the tray, didn’t think about the hose being clogged. This time we are cleaning the hose.
Hope it helps

Great video. Our drain hose was plugged and the shopvac fixed the problem.
Awesome glad I could help
Jim, thank you for the tip, I used my vacum at the end of the draining pipe, and ijected compressed air through the pipe in the tray, and it worked great!!1 thank you!!
Glad it helped thanks for watching

Excellent work, Jim! I certainly appreciate your editing and concise approach. I woke to water dripping setting off some panic but your videos kept me "calm in crisis". kudos!
Awesome glad I could help Ryan
Thank you for this video!
You are so welcome!
Great explaining..!!! Thanks
Welcome thanks for watching
Thank you!!
Welcome
Great video Jim! Super helpful 👍🏻
Glad it was helpful!
Great video, thanks!
Welcome
Thank you this video really helped
Glad I could help
Very helpful. The guys that ran my coolant lines put them under the drain hose which doesn't work so well when the water has to flow up hill. This was a very helpful video on how to get in there without breaking stuff👍
Glad it helped
Thanks!
Welcome
Thanks I'm about to go check a Aircon that is leaking, I'm also new to air-conditioning units
Hope it helps
Ok boss.... GREAT job in getting this on video!!..... YOU seem to be the man to ask this question. I bought a hybrid mini split unit and I REALLY love it!!.... It runs on 4 large solar panels here in AZ all day long without flinching without even any inverter, batteries or anything. Just run your PV wires to the AC unit and plug them in. It uses solar as the primary, then when the sun starts going down, it starts easing on the grid power little by little. FREE electricity during the day! ..... OK, my question is, Is there a function that turns OFF the water collection process? There's an app that goes with the AC unit that's pretty robust. Not too sure if I'm doing something that has made the condensation from collecting all the sudden. When I first installed it and turned it on, there was quite a bit of water coming out of the tube, now, not so much. Thoughts?
I’m guessing when you first started the AC the humidity level in your house was higher. Now that the humidity level is low, you will only get a small drip out of the condensate line. Should be ok thanks for watching
Good explanation.tks
You are welcome
thank u it helped a lot
You're welcome!
Thanks a lot for the vid! I have a strange problem with my indoor unit. The catch pan as well ad the condensate line is clear and working. The unit is also cooling but it is leaking on the flaps and drops on the floor. Do you have an idea what a rootcause could be? Could this be a problem with the refrigent level or pressure? The AC unit is clean. Thanks a lot!
Sorry really not sure, I would have said maybe it needs a cleaning but you said it is clean. Maybe once the humidity in your house levels off it will not make as much condensate, and stop dripping.
Omg I open it and instead I put a fish inside of the drain. Unclog all of it and now if like a water slide, thank you!!!
Awesome glad you got it fixed
Thank you for the video .................................
Most welcome
You are the man 💪👏👏👏TY
No problem 👍thanks for watching
Good video
Thanks
That timing on the cooking though....lol
No kidding lol
Nice work...
Thank you
I remove the inside unit, disassemble it and clean before reassembling. Just did it last month. The compressor will pump all the refrigerant into the outside unit then I close the valves. The amount of refrigerant lost is minimal. My unit is on an inside wall so I had to run a condensate line through 3/4 inch pvc pipe to a nearby wall. Once an iguana got stuck in there and died so i made a cover to keep future reptiles out.
Thanks for watching my friend. Did you vacuum out the system, after you moved it?
@@DIYJIM Yes for 30 minutes before reopening the valves.
@@chargermopar awesome wish you were my neighbor.
@@DIYJIM That is nice to say! Being your neighbor would be awesome!
😮
Tks
Welcome
I have the 7.5w bronte, i carnt get the fins out. Help
Thanks for sharing 👍😎 australia
Sorry I have only ever cleaned my Mitsubishis’s. Hope you get it figured out. Thanks for watching.
Great video, Thanks for making it
Maybe the mounting bracket behind the unit needs adjustment. Not sure how you are going to do this without an AC technician. Hope you get it figured out.
thanks for replying!@@DIYJIM
Have question .. I have Daikin inverters, are they the same as yours, I know they are close …. Any glaring differences…. Thanks … Tony
Sorry I’m not sure, thanks for watching
Ive had to vac mine everyday for the past week suddenly. All the sudden it's been pouring out around the drain pan. First time its done this in 5 years. Had some clogs before but this is really something. Usually check occasionally just getting a gentle siphon action with a hand held vac.
Maybe some evap tabs would help. Did you clean the AC or have someone else do it.
@@DIYJIM trying to save some money & doing it myself right now. Ive been having a company service it once a year. In fact they were scheduled to be out this week & cancelled but I'm ready to take it apart right now.
I wonder if this little pressure washer would work? Ivation Multipurpose Portable Spray Washer w/Water Tank
I have never used it.
Will a general hvac guy be able to service this?
Maybe not sure I have never had mine serviced.
@diyjim how can i remove the drain pan if the drain line is on the left side? The wires on the right side are preventing me from pulling the pan out 😢
You need to still disconnect the wires on the right side I show that in the video.
What is the purpose of the tab you put in the drain pan?
Helps drain pan and tube stay clean. Thanks for watching
what other stuff can I use if I dont have a power washer?
could try a hose or pump sprayer. Thanks for watching
Ty!!! I really needed help with this. My unit is different but I was still able to follow along.
Glad my video helped
What’s the tablet you had to put inside the drain pan
I have them down in my description or first comment
Tumbs up for the directions to put the drain pan back in and showing it being done. All other vids skip it like its the easiest thing, to me was harder than removing the fan.
Glad I could help, thanks for watching
Wish we here in asia have those tabs or tablets. ESPECIALLY us with tropical and humid climate😅. We need them badly
Sorry I can’t help ya, thanks for watching
Have no tray , can't see any drain tube. Daikin 14 or 18k unit
This video isn’t really about leaking. It’s about an overflowing condensation pan.
Thanks for watching
Ok so I did that an still have a leak what’s the next option
You might need to call someone.
1.400 like :D
Thanks for watching
Sure not my Daikin setup. I have no drain pan that can pop out like that.
Thanks for watching sorry yours is different
My mini split drain is troublesome. They seem to clog 2-3 times per year. I think they are inherently nasty machines due to poor filtration.
Thanks for watching

What's your wife cooking? smells good..
I don’t remember she is a good cook
There’s no need for all that equipment. DIY only need a shop vac and a garden pressure washer. The shop vac will usually do the job.
If you are going to clean just use Dawn dish soap, vinegar and a little Clorox. Make up a mild solution and use your garden pressure washer to wash the inside unit. Rinse using bottle water and the same garden pressure sprayer. Run that shop vac !!
Thanks for the tips!
next time do a video while the wife is not cooking.
Ok thanks for watching
Nice video very clear, thanks so much!
You're welcome!
Thanks!
Welcome, thank you very much for the super thanks
