Hi! I like your profile pic
It can be a bit hazardous. You want to loosen the strings before doing this. If you've ever had a guitar string break, you know that it can be pretty unpleasant when it hits exposed skin. I once had a piano string go through my hand during a pitch raise. It went straight through like a hypodermic needle. It wasn't as serious as I thought it was (it's quite distressing when you realize something has gone through a part of your body even if the damage isn't that bad.). If you do want the joy of clipping a fully tuned piano (it IS fun and you DO have to get them off for restringing), I recommend doing it from behind the capot. The strings can't really hit you from there.
I honestly felt both of those equally

@@Satarumatic it sounded wavy because it was out of tune LMFAO also he played it differently the second time around, the first time he held the pedal down nearly the entire time but on the tuned version he used the pedal intermittently and cut notes that were meant to be held short so that might be the reason it sounds less melodic the second time. @Paul Blazewicz so that was a lie
Det var en väldigt intresant ide
River flows in you is the pianist's wonderwall

@Andrew Harper wonder wall is amazing it's superb
What a nice guy
And I love that look of genuine disbelief on his face, even though he has seen the video before and knew what was coming lol

I remember being in high school when they announced they were making the Twilight books onto films and I don't know of the hype started there, but everyone going crazy saying 'river flows in you' was going to be Bella's theme so all the twilight fans learnt it and everyone else learnt from them and if this is still riding that wave I will be amazed 😂
This was an expensive video to produce. Bravo on the piano tech. I hope you just keep inviting him for these crazy piano tuning videos.
50 miles is a normal drive here in the US.. always enjoy the thought of how much closer things are in other countries.
If you do 50 miles in the UK, there's a chance you won't understand what anyone is saying when you arrive...
That’s what I was thinking. I just made an almost 600 mile round trip in a day to pick up my grandmother-in-law and then we did it again to drop her off a week later. This is normal stuff for us 😂
Driving 100 miles for a UA-cam prank is a bit much though
Yeah, I drive 50 miles and I'm only a few cities over in the same state
i wouldnt say "normal" because its normally around 30 but i see where your coming from
Okay but can we just appreciate how cute that piano technician is
Yeah...nah can't relate🤙 SUB MY YT
Totally 😍

@Paul Blazewicz every one knows god don't exist

I think by now you've garnered enough attention in the guitar world to have a company custom make some strings long enough to fit in a piano. why don't you contact jared dines to see if you guys can get a string company to make send you some long guitar and bass strings to fit in your piano? I've seen a company make extremely thick strings all for the sake of extended ranges, this one should be an interesting project for them.
Oh he forgot to reply to this one
Kalium, String Source etc. will definetely have stuff long enough
I wonder if there are any string manufacturers that would actually indulge with your experiment and create strings long enough to be properly mounted on the piano to create a clear sound without knots and a full stringboard?
Mom, come pick me up again, the guy with the guitar piano is again hunting me with his weird guitar piano melodies
🤣
From the reverse side, I went to a music store in a small town while looking for strings for my 5-string bass. All they had were 4-string packs, but they had a B bass piano wire. It was thick and long, but I was able to use it. I LOVED the sound from that B string. It almost had a bell-like quality to the tone, and the shimmery sound when it was slapped was undescribable. That was neary 20 years ago, but I've always wanted to try that again. This video brought back a happy memory, though the video was kind of haunting.
Do it! Be happy :)
That sounds amazing!
I'm not a musician by any means. But I bet it sounds wonderful. Go for it!!
If you ever try it could you record it for us?
I actually think Rotosound had a set that was like that, they used exposed core piano wire and you had to put ball ends on it to put it on a bass. I wonder if they still make it, I always wanted to try it.
they should make long guitar strings for pianos cause this actually sounds really nice
"remove the evidence."
- leaves Davie504 painting on the wall.
Hahaha
now we just need extra-long and strong guitar strings to see what it sounds like when there are no knots in it and can be tunned better without fear of breaking the strings
...those would just be piano strings.
I don't know why I watched this crime all the way through, but I did. Well done!
God is looking down on us and thinking “I gave them music to do this?”
Hahaha
@@Mattiaskrantz you didn't heart your own comment! (j/k) lul
I love how he says every piano tech has seen your video. You're notorious amoung piano techs.
I love it when i understand the swedish language, and hear the guy saying: it was the stupidest thing he has seen when he saw him cut the strings. But it got translated to the complete opposite of what he said..
14:18
Yeahhe probably literally broke the piano guys heart, and he should have kept the strings on the bass side.
That piano tuner and all the others with him must be torn in two from what he did! Heh
Lmao never would have caught that
i got the sarcasm vibes and came looking in the comment section for a comment like this wondering if i was right hahaha
"he basically said im a genius and also that the audience should not translate this for yourselves"
The piano tech guy was super nice, I'd love to have a friend like him
Yeah same I hope he liked me😂😉
The difference is huge. At least to my ears. After being tuned by the professional it sounds a lot more consonant.
Yeah, it just sadly made the strings buzz even more.
Consonant???
@@naverilllang Basically more in tune with each other. if you were to play multiple notes together it would sound more in harmony with each other and a more pleasant sound.
The lower notes sound MUCH better
@@naverilllang yeah right? I could swear its sounds more vowel?
