@@naahgol8608 not sure what you mean but to clarify, a luthier is someone who builds guitars. Traditionally luthiers actually make them from scratch, for example carving a block of wood to make the body of an acoustic guitar so that the reverb inside it sounds exactly how they need it to for a full and clear sound. This video isn’t technically showing him being a luthier since he sources parts and puts them together, but the passion and craftsmanship is still there, and he goes very in depth and detailed with the parts chosen and the how they are put together to create a specifically cohesive instrument for the user, so I wouldn’t count him out
That's the absolute beauty of music. IMO music is the BEST way to convey actual feeling through sound. You can describe how you feel, but hearing the JOY in the music is always more powerful.
what a beautiful gesture. I've given my students guitars in the past. Kid I was working with had horrible social anxiety. he got up and performed in front of his whole school... I gave him one of my Jem Jr guitars (the kid loved Vai)... i've never been hugged so hard in my life... one thing your friend said "this will go to my kids, everyone will know this guitars story"... Probably the most beautiful comment to any gift you could give. you're a super thoughtful guy... he's lucky to have you as a friend.
Gifts between teachers and students are special, man. An English teacher of mine gave me his copy of the Lord of the Rings when I was 16, I'll never part from this book. If my house catches fire, that book is the one thing I'll grab. You're an amazing teacher and I'm glad there are teachers like you and students like OP out there that make the world sparkle.
“This is the start of something good for me” You didn’t just give the guy a guitar but also hope! Wishing that things will turn around for him. Great content!

13:05 Hearing him playing after plugging in the amp genuinely made me tear up. You can really see how much he missed it. Thank you for blessing my eyes and ears m8!
This is honestly one of most profound gifts I’ve seen given. Not just that he had his guitar stolen, which I understand that eternal heartache because my Taylor Kathy Mattea #89/100 was stolen in 1999 and to this day I am still heartbroken because of it but that you lovingly and meticulously planned out the build to his preferences and noted in your memory each thing he’d shared with you over the time you spent together. That you remembered all of that is a precious gift few ever really get to experience. To top it off you built it with your own two hands. I firmly believe this moment will be one of the great memories of his life, and you are a phenomenal friend. Truly. It’s so nice to see two men who share the same passion for music becoming close friends.
I built a PC for my homie who lives massively under the poverty line and mailed it to him. Wasn't some super PC, but it's what I had left after an upgrade and I know he will likely not be able to afford an upgrade ever so I went to work on making him a nice PC MFer was using shit from the early 2010's. I wish I could have put more money in it, but alas something is far better than nothing. When it hits you that you want to pay it forward in life you feel you are making this world just a little bit less miserable. I try my best to live by this, I still remember being given a poster by a store worker when I was in middle school struggling with my father's alcoholism, the small acts of kindness will always live each others hearts. You're an absolute lad for this.
My people live according to a similar pov. If you give, it comes back to you eventually, you may not see how but it does. So that ends up with a very generous, connected culture ^__^💗
Bruh, I told my buddy his pc needed to be clean. And while it was at my place, I tore out his I5-4400 and 1070 and replaced it with a I7-10700K and 3070. Never told him just gave it back lmao. He opened it one day to clean and was shocked.
You're a great friend man. I'm in homies position and it's rough- people like you leave memories that last a lifetime and friendship that has no price. :)
I did something similar. Got a PC as my only gift for the year to keep at my mom's house and I bought a pc for myself for my dad's house. Moved in with my best friend, who's not nearly as well off as me and gave him a big discount on one of the PCs. He insisted on paying at least something so he ended up giving me around $400 for a PC that was $2k new and probably $1500 around that time. Also got him $50 off of a monitor when I got an amazon gift card as a gift but didn't have anything I wanted to buy. Always gotta help out the homies if you're in a better financial state, just make sure you're helping out a real homie

Video just randomly popped out in the recommendations and this video made me happy. As a self taught guitarist who has been playing for almost 2 decades now, I felt that having a guitar teacher would feel like having someone that you would meet and pay for lessons. Oh man, I wish I had a teacher who can be a long time friend of mine just like you and Dylan.
What a great video. This type of act is the definition of brotherhood and why it is so vital for us men to be there for each other. Him saying "This is the start of something good for me", and then the defined act of calling you brother in his message shows just how much it means to him moving forward. A few hours and a few hundred dollars may have laid the foundation for a man to build something off of. Never underestimate the impact you can have by giving a shit and being a good person. You earned a new sub for sure!
I was more excited about the gesture than you can imagine. It’s super cool to see a person show their appreciation for another human. Nice job job well done
Bro almost messed up the video by not capturing Dylan's reaction face. Luckily he played the guitar on the tarmac and you got his reaction. You had been recording till the battery dead. What an astounding effort to create this great vlogging experience. Keep doing what you're doing Excuse my english I'm not native and still learning. Thanks for the story
he's so lucky to have a friend like you. I liked the fact you put subtitles everywhere it's way easier for me to watch and understand as a non native speaker. I think we all want another video with dylan playing this beauty !
nah this is too wholesome... everything he said you can tell he ment it from the bottom of his heart and soul. this is the type of moments you never forget... i feel like this man really needed a gesture like this from somebody and having it made just for him hopefuly will let him know that he really is apreciated
I never seen such a video that got me hooked into the story. This was such a sweet thing to do during a hard time someone was going through. This video put a smile on my face.
Dylan is such a talented guy! Had the pleasure of working with him at School of Rock, always excited about playing, always curious and quick to share his knowledge. Thanks for doing such a kind thing! I’m sure he’s eternally grateful
Dylan reminds me of my childhood guitar tutor, Rick, even down to the mannerisms when he plays guitar... Your tutor actually shares a name with Rick's favorite artist, Bob Dylan. I wish I had the opportunity to do something like this for Rick before he passed on. I "inherited" an SM58 and a handmade tambourine from him, and I was so proud to pick it up and use it for my first professional recording job! Long live Rick, and many healthy years to you and Dylan
So wholesome. ❤ Just like your dear friend said, life ain't easy but it's the people that stick around even during tough times who truly help us moving forward. You not only built a guitar for him, you also helped him go through hard times and there's nothing more precious than finding those people who can help you do that. Thank you for being there for him. ❤
Idk you, or him, this channel, or why it was in my recommended, but it was very wholesome and made my day so right on for that! That was just a good old wholesome video in a sea of slop! Lol
Hands down best video iv watched on the tube this year. I’m a car guy an I watched this two times in a row because of the love an kindness, I love this guitar an the emotion of true caring. It not everyday you meet someone that changes you for the better. It even more rare that in time you get the chance to thank them by changing there life for the better. Cheers to both of you! Love it, thanks for making us all a part of the love.
I sort of did the same thing with my bass teacher. He always wanted to own a fretless Peavey 5 string. I came across one in a Pawn shop, a Cirrus model, at an actual reasonable price and I had to do it. He was so happy and I am so glad I did it. Owe him a lot because he didn't charge me. Good guy, great friend.
There are nice presents you get someone for a special occasion like Christmas or a birthday. And then there are gestures like this that truly convey kindness and will live on forever for both of you. 10/10
His reaction was priceless 😊!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I loved this video especially during this crazy election, this was so heartwarming ❤️ 💖!!!! May God bless you. 😊
You could make a movie based off of this guy and his story. What a character. Hats off to both of you gents, a beautiful gift to a truly good guy, who a blind man could see is beyond grateful for you and your friendship. All the best.
You’re a beautiful person! This video brought me to tears repeatedly. You should know that you are the best kind of friend anyone could ask for! Much respect!
My dad let me use my grandpa's old green custom telecaster to learn guitar. It's certainly not the best guitar ever, but within the first few days the old oxidized strings got my fingers callused like I had been playing it for months, so my fingers never hurt. It's old strings buzz like telephone wires and the tuners hardly budge, but if I learned guitar on anything else I would've quit.
This is what a real guitar player looks like his heart knows no bounds. It isnt just some instrument its their passion and a special gift by a friend. This isnt just doing music for musics sake
see this is what internet videos should be all about. I love seeing moments of genuine kindness and friendship like this man. makes me have hope for better days ya know. so easy to focus on the worst of what life has to offer but it is little moments like this that make tomorrow worth fighting for. you're an amazing friend man great job!!

universe works in amazing ways i randomly stumbled upon this video... ive returned to guitar for about a year and a half before that i didnt play for about 13 years!, my progress has been very good, im happy with it, but you inspired me and made me realize how much just getting lessons can do for you not just in learning but networking and meeting others that play guitar opposed to just jamming in your room by yourself ... i always think how could i ever find a band to play a bar gig if i wanted to?, this has helped me open my mind, thank you so much brother!!!

A few hours and a few hundred dollars may have laid the foundation for a man to build something off of. Never underestimate the impact you can have by giving a shit and being a good person.
You earned a new sub for sure!
Yo this is fuckin sick especially when he’s playing on the street! 😮
You can tell, some guitars just WANT to be played.
seeing him just sit on the curb and let all that emotion out through the guitar you built him is just beautiful man. great video
The paint coming up with the tape would have sent me in a downward spiral
What a privilege it is to get to watch this
I couldn't imagine selling my Korean Epiphone Les Paul, truly an angel Rob!
The way he hugs the guitar. You can tell it meant so much to him.
Keep doing what you're doing
Excuse my english I'm not native and still learning. Thanks for the story
no one is more deserving of a cool present than a teacher that makes a difference. Props to you bro
That reaction almost couldn’t have been more perfect. In my opinion anyway. That f you bro was straight from the heart.
Nothing better than a good teacher, they make all the difference when you're learning something new
my guy even hooked him up with the job he got and didnt even say a word himself about it, i tip my head good sir.
that slight disonance in the chords at 13:40... oooooooofffff
Bro got me crying when he revealed the present, so happy for your teacher dawg!
he's so lucky to have a friend like you. I liked the fact you put subtitles everywhere it's way easier for me to watch and understand as a non native speaker.
I think we all want another video with dylan playing this beauty !
Only music can create a friendship like this. It’s such a powerful force for good
nah this is too wholesome... everything he said you can tell he ment it from the bottom of his heart and soul. this is the type of moments you never forget... i feel like this man really needed a gesture like this from somebody and having it made just for him hopefuly will let him know that he really is apreciated
Cheers to everybody whose life been an absolute hell and who still survivin'
Stay strong guys
Thank you for the video ❤
I never seen such a video that got me hooked into the story. This was such a sweet thing to do during a hard time someone was going through. This video put a smile on my face.
Dude this was so wholesome! Thank you for sharing!!
thanks so much john!!
12:25 got me, you know it means everything to him.
You can feel his emotions he looked like he needed something to believe in..and what a great friend you are I love this story
Man, I'm crying here with my morning coffee. What an present! So wholesome.
When he stood hugging the guitar like a baby ❤
Dylan is such a talented guy! Had the pleasure of working with him at School of Rock, always excited about playing, always curious and quick to share his knowledge. Thanks for doing such a kind thing! I’m sure he’s eternally grateful
I absolutely love the bond you two have, it's incredible. He isn't just your teacher but a best friend
YT's crazy algorithms put this in my recommended videos. I couldn't be happier. You're a good guy.
beautiful moment shared between master and apprentice
Dude I fucking cried. Such a wholesome video, cheers to you and Dylan man
Dylan reminds me of my childhood guitar tutor, Rick, even down to the mannerisms when he plays guitar...
Just like your dear friend said, life ain't easy but it's the people that stick around even during tough times who truly help us moving forward. You not only built a guitar for him, you also helped him go through hard times and there's nothing more precious than finding those people who can help you do that. Thank you for being there for him. ❤
“Im gonna use this for the rest of my life” is such a beautiful reaction to a gift
Love it, thanks for making us all a part of the love.
how lovely.. thank you for your kind words and i couldn't agree more
Dude he seems like such a kind soul😭
I sort of did the same thing with my bass teacher. He always wanted to own a fretless Peavey 5 string. I came across one in a Pawn shop, a Cirrus model, at an actual reasonable price and I had to do it. He was so happy and I am so glad I did it. Owe him a lot because he didn't charge me. Good guy, great friend.
Thank you youtube for recommending this
Two beautiful guys. This is what friends are.
That's one of the best feelings in the world, giving someone a gift you _know_ they'll love.
This is awesome, just two bros who really care about eachother.
We came here for some guitar builds and got a lot of friendship and love. Thanks for sharing this.
There are nice presents you get someone for a special occasion like Christmas or a birthday.
And then there are gestures like this that truly convey kindness and will live on forever for both of you.
10/10
The world needs more people like yall. I was crying when you gave it to him.
12:45 .. Him hugging the guitar like that🥺😭 and then going in for the hug
How amazing
Doesn't matter how or when things happen, it will always happen for a reason and when it's supposed to.
Amazing gift to an amazing friend.
Dude, i cant think of a more thoughtful gift to any musician than a custom built instrument to express their artistry
❤❤❤❤❤
Well done young man !!!
15:55 that’s what you do it for ❤
His reaction was priceless 😊!!!!
All the best.
he realized right away what it was, but the switch when it dawned on him that it was for him was awesome
You’re a beautiful person! This video brought me to tears repeatedly. You should know that you are the best kind of friend anyone could ask for! Much respect!
it's so nice to hear two PASSIONATE pepole talk about things they love
I loved every minute of this video and this story, for me one of the best videos on YT ever.
I wish more people could be like this, and I hope friendships like this to last forever.
Thanks for sharing, I rarely feel moved by videos and this is one of them in a very long time.
wow, that means a lot. thank you so much and i'm so glad it had a positive impact on your day!
The youtube algorithm needs to show me more things like this 💕 Glad this video is getting attention.
Amazing gift, it must have been very satisfying to give him something that you spec’d out and built, and that he’ll have for the rest of his life. It sounds like you really helped him out in a tough time, and he sounds great on it.
i had the opposite happen ...in highschool the only 2 classes i liked and excelled in were theater tech and rotc ,,,my tech teacher noticed how much i truly loved theater and i went around my 4 years of school doing anything the theater needed even repaired 150 lights they needed but i was the only one who knew how to fix them ,,,so the day i left the teach went into her office and grabbed her c wrench handing it to me ...telling me her teacher passed it to her and she wants to pass it to me ...its always on my hip and helps me in my theater work now but also on almost every project i work on ...thank god for amazing ppl like you and her
damn this made me tear up
what lovely souls
i wish you two and everyone reading this only the best in life ❤🎉
These guys are like the best guys in the fucking world. Love to see that, bros being bros.
universe works in amazing ways i randomly stumbled upon this video... ive returned to guitar for about a year and a half before that i didnt play for about 13 years!, my progress has been very good, im happy with it, but you inspired me and made me realize how much just getting lessons can do for you not just in learning but networking and meeting others that play guitar opposed to just jamming in your room by yourself ... i always think how could i ever find a band to play a bar gig if i wanted to?, this has helped me open my mind, thank you so much brother!!!
