Every day for Oldman's character looks like just an old college-days hangover. He's good in everything he's in, great in a lotta roles, and perfect in this one. I doubt if he's even acting much. When he does a nutbag role, he's natural 2nd nature in that. He's a born chameleon. one of the greatest signs in acting.
Jackson Lamb would say, "How dare you insult me as such!" 🤣🤣🤣 I'll explain it, since Lamb himself refuses to explain *anything* (because he's so worn out by the absurdity of life he's stopped caring about shining a light on that absurdity)! Yes, he's seen so much absurdity normalized that he no longer wants to deal with people so he can minimize the mental trauma he has to go through of seeing people (knowingly or not) perform such normalized absurd actions. So he purposefully acts in such a way that no one ever wants to be around him so they'll leave him alone - and that includes telling others to leave him alone. So calling him "the sweetest" *directly* goes against that and would make people *want* to interact with him, and he *absolutely* does *not* want to interact with people! Hope that explains it - and if not, hope you at least had a fun laugh! 😅😅😅
He's on a par with Sherlock Holmes for deduction. He's very proficient in unarmed combat. Ha can move like a ballerina when he wants to, his clothing, his hair, his body. There is part of it that's a really clever disguise. Like look as little like Jack Bauer as possible. He also came close to death several times, operating as a spy in East Germany, like that would take serious balls. Then he retired home and got a nice 9-5 number as a fucking Mi5 hitman, who ended up whacking the head of Mi5
Archetypes anyone? They are part of the deep, unspoken power of these novels. Lady Di [Taverner] is the flip-side of the original Lady Di. The former is calculating, cold-blooded and unscrupulous, where the former was spontaneous, sensitive and vulnerable. Lamb, on the other hand, is a part of ourselves we are longing to let loose on the world: apparently chaotic, blind, unthinking and invulnerable, he's our Dyonisian side, as is Shirley (only as she appears in the books, though, not the show, unfortunately). We are sandwiched between our Di(e) and Lamb sides, colliding and just longing to emerge. These characters give vent to it for all of us.
Calling lamb unthinking is definitely one of the most inaccurate adjectives possible Dude is a spymaster although past his prime that plays chess 3 pieces behind and still ends up winning You don’t live that long if you’re unthinking, for example Min was unthinking I understand the dichotomy you’re setting up but it’s not that deep 😂
