i think 2k took a more time before shutting down 2k22 servers than what use to happen before 2k20, new game is coming out old game servers shut down 22 had 2 years m 1 year more than games did before the 2k20 mess i think its not a precedent 2k is opening, its just business as usual i guess
I say it's bs. I personally don't hate my faction but at the same time I don't like it because of the exclusives that are locked behind the mode. If you unlock it in my faction then you should be able to use it in other game modes of the game. I hope they patch in all the my faction characters of 2k22 in to the base game of 2k22 before the servers are shut down for good. Same thing for 2k23 and so on and so forth
Another issues is that when they shut down their servers all disc with codes like for deluxe version will most likely stop working and just like what they did with the other wwe 2k games they'll have them removed from stores for digital copies and all dlc which locks you out of having a full game and ruin the experience of having the full fun of the old wwe 2k games and in all feels like all they care in the end is your money and once they have it they just say fu on wanting to have fun with our old ones. And it's getting to the point that might have to boycott the company and make them lose money for being a ass to its fans who buy their products

The servers for 2K22 literally have stayed online longer than any wwe games ever... before the 2K19/2K20 debacle, the games would release (for example. October 2017 and then close in May 2019)... 2K22 servers opened in March 2022 and are staying open until January 2024... So, old WWE games were open for 18 months while 2K22 is online for 20 months
For people who have 2K22 but not 2K23, DO NOT buy 2K23. You might as well just wait a few months for 2K24.
On playstation it was on sale, with the highest edition being roughly 60 dollars USD. I tried the free trial, and I couldn’t agree more. The reviews I’ve seen don’t show the full picture: it is basically 2k22 with some new arenas and roster change (although seeing a lot of the MyFaction drama with some characters being locked behind the gamemode in 2k23 really bothered me), while the servers are still up I’m downloading whatever I need in Creations and sticking to 2k22.
Yeah 2k23 was trash never been so disappointed in buying the highest tier for this trash and then i go back to 22 to see its getting shut down pissed me off more
All depends when it comes to WWE 2K 23 cuz right now you can get all the DLCs even though most of it was kind of lame but if anybody is a big fan of Bray Wyatt right now 2K 23 is the only one that has his last theme song before he passed away. But yeah that's why I still have 2K 20 my system is because of Bray Wyatt cuz at the moment it is the only game that has the fiend Bray Wyatt and I was able to set up with the regular Bray Wyatt to come out with Luke Harper and Rowan and have the Bray Wyatt family entrance

2k19 staying open so long was the best thing for wrestling games since GM mode. I’m still playing it because I had so much extra time to really perfect my roster.
The issue is that people want to keep playing the old game because we don’t trust the new game to be better or even as good. There’s a reason for that distrust.
Bro can we still update WWE 2K19 on PlayStation with last released patch? Bcoz 2k19 is not available on PSN ... that why I am asking.

EA is a horrible company, but at least they let they’re servers stay on for years after their games release. The servers for WWE 12 are still up to this day & THQ isn’t even around anymore.

Agreed. I don't like games with annual releases. Sports games and first person shooters just need new characters and maps. I always buy wrestling games every other year.

In my opinion sports games shojld release new games every 2-5 years with newer engines, better graphics etc. Yearly is insane for essentially playing the same game with minor tweaks and a roster update

I feel like most of this could be remedied with just a few changes, first adding in a local version of the image uploader so we can continue to create wrestlers long after the servers have been turned off, and whenever they release a pack for My Faction, release it as DLC to buy for the main game. Either way 2K and WWE are getting money be it through DLC sales or My Faction micro-transactions. Just those two changes would fix some of my biggest problems with 2K WWE games.
As someone who still plays 2k22 and hasn’t updated to the new game I have to say I’m saddened. The reason I haven’t bought the new one is because of unemployment issues and stuff, it breaks my heart that the game is shutting down and I won’t be able to meet the fun people online anymore (until I eventually get the new one)
I'm with you. I lost my console and this game, I have literally only just replaced them after several months . I'm starting a new job - but a new ps5 is out of the question. This was so much fun, it felt like it took till this game to nail it so was happy to be reunited. The next gen games usually take a while to be as good as they should be. I Just have to restart all my progress and caws now and try and do what I can online related before Jan.

I’ve always been against digital. I even hate digital DLC but I understand not all dlc is gonna come out on disc.
I bought all the dlc for WWE ‘13, deleted it once, then wanted to play again so I put the game back in and go to redownload the dlc and it’s off the network.
People say “you don’t really ‘own’ the game on disc”…well, we pretty much do as long as our console works and it doesn’t require internet. Digital is a great way to lose something you’ve paid for and never get it back.
@@JM1993951 yup. My Xbox 360 for whatever reason doesn’t connect to internet and now the last few games I bought on there digitally are just gone unless I can figure out how to get it to connect
That won't ever happen they would have a hefty lawsuit. I still have games that isn't in the PlayStation store anymore I can still download GTA San Andreas, WWE 2k19 all the way back to WWE 2k16, As long as you own the license to the game its yours idc if the place went outta business.
I agree with your concerns. What they need to do is just stick with one game and add consistent DLC (reasonably priced), so they only have to have the servers up for one game at a time. Then, when they make a significant enough upgrade, then consider a new game. But, they likely make a lot more money this way, so i doubt it'll happen any time soon.

At this point I just want a game called WWE 2K and they just update it with new talent and legends new arenas, match types and a fantastic creation suite it just means that everyone who is a wwe 2k fan are on the same game and it makes it easier for 2k to release updates

One problem with that is that the roster is ever shifting, with people leaving the company. People leaving means they lose rights to put that person in the game. This means, they would have to remove that person from the live service game, including those who "own" the wrestler. Not sure how happy people would be about that.
I'm still playing 2K22. I'm not paying $70 for an updated roster. That's crazy to me. That goes for Madden and NBA

I exclusively play offline anyways so……. I think it’s more of a case that a majority of players only find enjoyment out of games from the online services which is kinda sad, back in the day we didn’t need an online service to enjoy a game
Except that 2K22 requires persistent internet to play. This was not a requirement for the last game, so it's weird that they would do this. The game would become virtually unplayable because of this shutdown.
I am starting to believe that somebody in the '22 roster had just left WWE this year, and this shutdown was forced because the wrestler requested that any game containing him should be discontinued as soon as possible. Selfish yes, but it couldn't be helped if renegotiations failed.

I legit hate this mindset. Fortnite and NBA 2k have a completely different online model than WWE normally has. I know recently 2K has made things worse because of course they have, but for years the online features were just DLC, Matches, and Community Creations. Those are what people are mad about. Some of us don't wanna fight an A.I all day and we like to download wrestlers that aren't in the game. WWE games are known for getting worse every year, I shouldn't be locked out of having fun on 2K22 because they wanna push 23 and 24 which are probably just reskins/roster updates anyway. I get there's crappy online practices these days but not every online "feature" sucks.

I went back to 2K19 and 2K22 after completing everything in 2K23 a month ago. 2K shuts down their servers for NBA Games but for WWE that was really quick for them to do.
Think of all the MONEY people spent on My Faction on 2k22 and now you can’t even log on there. Man what a waste!
One thing I hate is they push online modes more than offline modes but leave it really buggy
i agree with you 100% Matt because back in the ps3 2k14 once you downloaded the created wrestlers you will have them to play with out the internet and still make the game still valuable to play but 2k needs to do better in making these yearly games better for consumers but it's all about the money and putting out the product every year.
I've got my Roster for 2k23 My Universe perfect with everything down to the last image. Because at some point they'll yank the plug on 2k23 which is a load of bullshit.
The scam is the micro transactions in an unfinished product that’s already overpriced.. I’ve been playing these games since 1998/1999 but they’re just money hungry at this point because they know they can turn in a polished turd and ppl will buy it
I dislike the fact they discontinue these servers because of the 100 caw limit. I have 22 universe set up as WCW, 23 is WWF Golden era 87-93, 24 will be New Generation 93-96. My WCW roster will now be locked after the 3rd, so I have to get it exactly the way I want before that day and can no longer "bring a guy in" for a ppv outside of the 100 caw list. I really wish we had more than 100 caw slots.
Well you Can use like a legend like Edge or someone else if you have 100 custom characters delete the ones you haven't used or assigned to your rosters

This is not a new method... The only reason 2k20 was up was because there was no 2k21.
2K has ALWAYS only kept two active titles being the current title and one previous.
They're just squeezing the last bits of juice out of both 22 and 23 to drum up funding for 24...
It's the same model Rockstar operates under, all the remasters they're doing lately even down to putting GTA V on Xbox Game pass essentially making it free then paywalling a whole bunch of cars behind a subscription service

If you remember I was really vocal on this channel during early 22 and 23... I've completely stopped playing the game and won't be buying because there's absolutely nothing to do in the game besides grind myfaction... They somehow managed to turn my childhood escapism into a chore...
I wish video game developers actually cared about making good games... Studios like 2k and EA are pure greed... Every year there's 50 more ways to spend "VC" and maybe one legitimately new "feature"

They do this with every game... They used to do it even faster pre-2K19, I remember 17 and 18 shutdown 6 months after the new game came out! 19 only got a long extension because they didn't do a 21 during the restructure
How... Is this a scam? They've ALWAYS done this. The only reason 2K19's servers remained up until last year was because of how 2K20 bombed.
Keep in mind, due to the covid pandemic and 2k skipping 2k21, they kept the servers up longer for 2k19 and 2k20 because of that. This does suck, but it's not abnormal.
The problem with annual releases is it's basically an "X+1" situation, where X is the previous installment.
Calling it an upgrade is simply a psychological marketing tactic.
Remember when 2k23 was advertised as a BIG deal because WarGames is finally in it? But when you take a step back, all they essentially did is add ONE match type.

yeah i've played war games a bunch, but really didn't feel like this huge match types id play repeatedly . its nice to have but not what i go to
It is an "upgrade" and they did add quite a bit of changes. However, those changes could've been done via an update.
2k23 is just 2k22: War Games. It was an easy pass for me after being so disappointed with 2k22.
2K doesn’t need to do this, they can keep it up when 2K24 comes out, let that last a month after 2k24 comes out & then shut the servers down for 2K22 leaving 2K23 or 2K24 for people who want the online part of the game.
As mentioned the big issue with server closure is for caw makers and roster builders as when a software error loses your game save (and it will), you can't recover anything from the cloud because that relies on the servers running. Xbox don't save your game saves online if the servers close. After building a substantial roster of perhaps AEW or other companies wrestlers and downloading from great creators featured by Assemble, you lose everything with no server.
The only back up to this is if you copied your game saves to an external drive but that doesn't always work either.
I've lost complete rosters of caws when replaying older wwe wrestling games that develop a fault and servers are closed. Beware 😢😢😢😢😢
WWE 2K20 servers were active as long as they were because we didn't get wwe2k21
This is why I didn't worry about the online servers because they'd pull stuff like this and infuriate players. Sadly, it sucks the fun out of everything.
They do this even in NBA 2K. That's why I don't care for MyCareer or MyTeam modes in those games - what's the point? You lose access to the cards once the server is shut down. It sucks.
I wish I lived in a world where there was no annual game, but just the base game where match packs and wrestler packs were made available throughout the year for a price. Maybe an additional game mode annually. Imagine the legend roster you could build over time as new legends became available?!

The ban of Status has not endeared 2K to me. The locked behind my faction stuff annoys me.

@@Hexx_Iztenze your right and I agree with you we got hidden characters some with hidden music, motions, alternate attires 2K was like "NAH you ain't getting any more of these On OUR COMMUNITY CREATIONS" they then tried to sabotage his creations damaging them making one of the nation of domination members a green person, flat out deleting the characters or just in general just being idiots. The things I downloaded from him are some of the hidden arenas, some wrestlers like Triple H with my time and DX HBK

I don't personally play that mode, but I would if the attires were unlockable. They would get more money out of me if they did that simple thing. They make absolutely no sense.
Everything you have just said is why I have an issue with 2k. The corruption of his uploads, the banning certain alt attires. It's so ridiculous to me.
It's the same with NBA 2k, my ps3 broke up, and I lost the patch and rosters update for NBA 2k9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14.
I only want the servers open for the patch and roster, but they make a bad game, then patch and if you loose it the game its over.

I hate when they decide to put main game unlockables such as the Feind in 2k20 or championships like in older games under online modes. It doesn’t even matter if you have the delux edition for 2k20, due to online features being unavailable, you are unable to unlock the Feind.
You only unlocked the fiend by completing a tower in 2K originals

I think they need to scrap MyFaction and instead they can do a season mode like SmackDown 2 where characters can be unlocked multiple years of it rather than one full run unlocks all.
Great video. I enjoy the my faction and pack opening I don’t spend real money but it does suck that u can’t use the cards in the next game
I remember I wanted to go back and play the older 2K games (and back then I had the deluxe editions of those previous installments) and I wasn't able to get access to that DLC, it's very frustrating in the fact that I paid for that content.
I treat each game like a different era and build a CAW roster for that era…my 2k19 was attitude era because it was the best game and could handle it… my 2k20 was my golden era as it was crappy and couldn’t handle too much so I kept it simple…. My 2k22 was new generation era because I had a bit more faith in what it could handle… 2k23 was my Ruthless Aggression game as it had so much RA content already…
This means I frequently go back to the older games depending on what era I want to play… it works and I feel like I get replayability that way
I've played wrestling games since the nes days. I've never been an online player. What I wanna have is a really good universe mode. The annual releases are a problem when dlc from old games doesn't work with the newer games. There really needs to be a lot of more match types. I wish they could have some imagination and create new steel cages and other stuff. Include more options Luke rounds, more ring types etc. Tye limit of 100 dlc should also be raised along with images. Release the older wwe theme song albums as dlc content. Would be great for legend caws.

2K is notorious for cutting off servers less than 2 years after the game, it's the same for the NBA game. The least they could do is archive the stuff in there.

Luckily I owned WWE 2K23 on my PS4, and suffice to say, I have been playing actively in matches for a couple of days, and now I am back in establishing move sets and stables for my create a superstars. It's a long process, but it's getting there. After all appearances, the move sets come next and then entrances. Not to mention some stables on the side. And after all that, then perhaps I can and will get the opportunity to make the arenas for the shows I would intend to make.

How about they "upgrade" the universe mode, "upgrade" the download slots, "upgrade" the match types, "upgrade" the myfaction attires to the core game
People need to hit these companies by boycotting their games and consoles. Money is literally all they care about so in order to force them to change you have to take away the thing that they want, our money. If people do not stand up to this these corporations will take more control away from the costumer. They will switch completely from physical copies to digital in order to take away options like buy used copies and the ability to trade in or resale the game. They will continue to release low quality unfinished games at higher prices if we continue to allow this predatory behavior. I'm the old man yelling at the clouds, been gaming for 40 years, I see that every year and with every new console the greed gets worse and worse. My days of gaming are just about done because I'm disgusted with what I see happening. Consumers need to take back there power.
I’m totally with you and can relate. I just ordered ‘23 last night because I heard it’s a better overall game and got it on sale for $29.99 and will get the Season Pass during the holidays but screw ‘24, I’m good!
Through a work around you can still play 2k12 online which is crazy cause of the short time frames the recent games have been shut down
I think it's another studio starts building the WWE games. There should be a game with all the eras and all the players throughout history, with an immersive sandbox like experience, and not shutting down of servers.

This is super quick. Shouldn't they be selling the game for cheaper now? Kind of turns me off to the idea of getting the next game.
I just wish there wasn't this yearly release of WWE games like this, I mean it works for sports games like Basketball, Football, and soccer. But it's just stupid with WWE games since there really don't change much anyways on features.
I bought an old game , socom 3 , from the pawn shop. The shut the server down, wasted money on a useless disk , if I bought it , I expect it to be there . All about money not about the consumer
I agree with EVERYTHING u said. they think they're being so smart by shutting down online when that's pronbably the most detrimental thing for them to do. If they actually cared about the fans they would open up the 2k19 servers again , actually they would never shut down any online servers. I feel like wwe games were once about having fun , but they're slowly losing & taking away all the things we loved about them. I don't want to keep spending all of this money for the same game with a minor update. it's nothing for them to take away the online matches but why the hell are they shutting down community creations?
I play my games up to wrestlemania in universe when it's close to the next game coming out, and then I just do exhibition until the next game comes, which I normally save up for for the new game before its out but since I don't get community creations because I have had issues in the past with them on 2 separate games I avoid them now.
I wish WWE games would switch to more of a “yearly DLC update” type model rather than having an all-new game each & every year. Fighting games like Tekken have shown that you can have a base game that just gets updated with new characters every so often.
All 2ks do this and I hate it.. it's gotten to the point I usually buy NBA 2k every other year.. and it might be this way with wwe now too. Thanks 2k

Glad I got this platinumed when I did seeing as my faction will no longer work with server shut down. Making this game impossible to platinum for anyone who didn't finish it before then. This is why games shouldn't have online trophies as main list trophies.
I think that it is worrying because of all the points you made. If they shut it down but keep support for my factions for a bit and then add a carry over ability or something where you can bring over the old characters you gain through the mode to the next game. That would be ideal but they won't.
I always wait till games get cheaper till I buy them as it's difficult to afford those high prices. This stinks that I haven't had the 22 game for a long time before it's going to be shut down and I won't be able to download extra content or anything else. 😢
The worst part about 2k22 is the platinum is locked right now. When I heard this news I thought I had a couple months to get the platinum but there is one problem. MyFaction daily challenges have stopped updating. For over a week my daily challenges have been completed, so I can't get any more and I can't get the platinum and 2k doesn't care
With only 100 slots for caws.. I’m definitely still playing 2k22. Comes in handy for Different universes.
2k has only one objective in my mind the entire time: Get the players to spent as much money on everything that they release when it comes to a new WWE Game- Special Editions, MyFaction and DLC and i wouldn't be surprised if the online service for the next games run less in the next years.
@@dhenderson1810 but if the consumers continue to give them money just for them to offer nothing or just the same in return, then they'll stop buying their games and just imagine if everyone did that then what do you think will happen...
When my game needs an update i dont access to the downloads from community creations. So when de servers for 2k23 shutdown will i not be able to access them either? Cause that would REALLY SUCK
They are adding exclusives to the MyFaction mode to tease people to play the mode.
I am a 2k22 player what modes are online is it just My Faction or is My Rise and My GM?
Shutting down just forces me to not buy the games.
It frustrates me mainly for creations. If they don't want online play, sure, but can't they find a way to keep community creations up as well as being able to upload your own images? It's not like the old days where you used the paint tool and could create your own logos. In these newer games if you go back and want to create a CAW it'll be generic as hell without any logos. It sucks.
I pray they find a way to keep community creations and not the online servers. It's really unfair. Cause if 2k releases another wwe game and it's only on next gen. People can't afford it. I hope they find a way to keep community creations by end of 2024 or Summer
I still play 2K22 almost daily and have tons of created wrestlers (not calling them superstars lol) and arenas/shows and my big issue is I'm on my THIRD "Your save file is corrupted" error. Having to delete, redownload and reunlock everything is annoying enough but what happens when my save file crashes a 4th time and the servers are gone? I'm just screwed?
Ive been doing an every other year format with sports games until I give il on them for a while now, so still on 22 waiting for 24, it cannot come sooner😭
Yeah and Years Later they sell their DLC Packs still for the Full Price. :(
For one I ain't a huge fan of "Showcase" and don't like for certain versions of wrestlers you gotta play it in order to unlock em.
Should go back to the old days when if you bought the season pass you could just unlock everything right away.
This is just the nature of the WWE games, its a factory line where they release a new game every year. So their games only has a lifetime of six to nine months before a new game is released.
If they allowed you to carry your CAWS and stuff over to the next gen game I'd probably be more inclined to buy it, but I don't feel like moving on unless the game has something really worth switching for. I played 19 all the way up until 23.
And the online server of 2k23 keep crashing when you do an Irish whip straight to the corner in the match with more of 4 people. To play an EC Match it's impossible.

You're gonna buy 2k23 then in a few months 2k24 will be out, they'll shut the 23 servers and tell you to upgrade to 24 to pump money into 25...

I completely agree.. Always the console player, I actually started buying these on PC for modding because of this reason... I loved 2k22 and had plans to stay on that but with '23 they added the custom entrances back in so I bought that for further customization..They will have to conjure something super different special without removing a current feature to get me to move forward with '24 at this point... And I don't have to say what I think of MY FACTION.. 💩
Currently I can't access the saved game data, it practically erased everything I had already unlocked and the downloaded characters, am I the only one this happens to?
2k should do it as a free to play with updates and new content in patches. Showcase can be a dlc most the money comes from vc purchases anyway
I use 2k22 for some arenas that I might need since they still haven't added show intro pyro which is what I need for show intros
the big problem with wwe commmunity creations is not is limited to game and whe you take out game erase all creations but fire pro wrestling japan it dont erase try to find a way for creations to stay.
i just got wwe 2k23 and its the most fun ive ever had in a 2k game i was able to play with my friend who have been playing all of the wwe 2k games and never got to fight each other and it turns out we are about at the same skill level
I'm still playing 2k22. I really can't see buying this series every single year anymore. Half the modes are one play and done or no play at all.
I’m definitely not a big fan of 2K in general but I still play from time to time. I played WWE 2K 22 on PS5 for only a month which was when it was one of the three free monthly games on PS +. The next month the game was taken off of the service entirely, and I’ve been locked out of it ever since. I didn’t even get half way through the story mode. I got shafted big time with that game.
It’s odd how 2k22 servers are better than 2k23 , I have been getting network error every time I try to play online on 2k23, so I hop on 2k22 and no issues. It’s so weird…..
