I would love to see a part 2 explaining match tables but then also would love to see how you handle every week. Do you play matches? Watch them? Skip them? Do you manually adjust the power rankings? These are all things I would love to see how other people handle them. I always feel like I’m playing it wrong😂
256 men 128 women all put in separate tournaments for titles. Then I used to put them all one show whoever got put into matches would be eliminated and be on that show. This year I restarted from WrestleMania 1 and do it year by year put the rest one roster, including legends.

I'm new to the game so I might be saying something stupid , but I wish there was a way when setting up on brands roster to see who is on the other brand. All I seem to see is whether someone is selected or not but it doesn't specify for what brand.
Great in-depth video that's actually making me feel a bit inspired to run a brand new Universe Mode following this type of formula, thanks so much for this! A Part 2 would be excellent just to cover a few more things like match tables etc. :)
What I do is change the brands championships rosters ect rivalrys keep on all the tag teams I don't care about authenticity it's boring when everything is realistic.
Is a copy/paste of what's going on. Myself I like the Forbidden door fantasy booking. Fuse the bigger promotions into one giant one and play throught there. That's allows something like Kazuchika Okada vs Roman Reigns or Becky Lynch vs Giulia, to me, that's more funny, create your own twist. Than recreate the original thing.
This is great! I do very similar things . I like the idea of deleting the PPVS and putting them on the 4th week. Actually a lot of these ideas are good and I’m gonna use them. I usually even out my brands which when up being like 70+ wrestlers between raw and SD. Anyways, look forward to seeing more video on universe mode. Not much out here so please continue! Peace !
I loved WWE 2K19s universe mode for one very simple thing that they took out, once you’ve set up your roasters an are editing your matches, it tells you what superstars are on what brand so you don’t have to keep backtracking too check all the time, in the last 2 games they haven’t done this, unless it’s in there an I don’t know how to do it.
I know I am slightly wait but I kinda wish wwe could have it where you can upload a my universe mode and use that like when u download a roster on NBA 2k
I made ECW on Saturdays where all the Attitude/Ruthless stars and champions wrestle since it’s “championship wrestling” and Wednesday is Velocity where both generations and costumed gimmicks clash. It just feels unceremonious trying to revert to Smackdown and Raw 2000’s rings and vibes with new superstars and their gimmicks. So that’s why I recreated ECW and Velocity with older rings so they fit that edgey atmosphere of the time, whereas WWE now is obviously more focused on showmanship. My universe is also Diva focused so right now Mickie holds ECW Women’s, Trish is going to drop her first Diva’s run for the Women’s again, while I slowly move the 4 Horsemen to higher grade like United States and Undisputed belts against Chyna and Rousey.
I wish there was a shuffle button, like you hit it, pick the superstars you want on your universe mode and it just throws them out onto the different brands with different champions
Tag Tean finishers in universe mode can work if you make the team and set finisher outside of universe mode under options; roster; edit teams. You have to do it in again in universe mode after but it does work.
Thanks for this. It's extremely helpful. A few of questions, if you don't mind.....around how many CAW do you have in your universe mode? And does having only 2 brands make it easier to have one male world champ and one woman world champ across both brands? And last does leaving some of the wrestlers off any brands randomize matches more?
I just wish it would start as a blank canvas with no one as champion, no one assigned to any show, no tag teams. It’s way too complicated having to go through all this stuff. Having a clean slate at the beginning where you can just set up shows, then choose rosters for each show, then choose belts for each show, then choose champions. Seems a lot more intuitive to do it that way to me.
WWE2K22 is a great game one of the best …. I love it no complaints they (2K) has given us so much…. Thanks for all that you do! I changed out NXT for WCW ….
I basically do everything the same way you do bro, except i have auto rivalry on, i wish they didn't have the different divisions for your superstars and just have it where the only way someone could challenge for a championship, they'd have to be a certain ovr. Or superstar point like it was in the older games
The video was good and I liked it and it's really cool that you can have titles to go to another show that's kind of cool I might do that universe mode.
Universe mode is really dope my main issue is the championship percentages on the msg h tables don’t work …. I put one percent for a title match and all belts show up every show
What i usually end up doing is i start with 2 shows, 2 titles for each shows. and then drop the titles down to 1 for each start a womens only show and a tag only show, do that for 2 weeks delete the tag only show and then delete my universe and start again.
I feel that the devs need to watch raw and smackdown. I want universe mode to feel like I am watching the show. When I hit start show, I don't want to leave from there. I don't want to be sent to a match card. I want it to be all set up and flow like how a show would. I don't want promos to come back but instead I want segments. This way you can set up an opening segment that plays out and sets up the main event for that show. Its so frustrating that WWE 2k22 was nothing but matches. While I love the matches and its a really fun game, Matches are 1/4 of what makes pro wrestling good. I also want them to get rid of all the cut scenes that are from 2k16. They should have way more variations of events that happen. I am so sick of the cut scene where they shake hands and that's it. Give me more.
Cool checking out how other people set up their universe as well. About 2 months into mine and have 120CAWs from attitude/ruthless aggression eras even some over the last decade or so. Split my brand as 1990s & 2000s on Raw 2010s & 2020s for smackdown and NXT has their base roster and I will occasionally throw Owens or Rollins on an nxt show to spice things up a tad. I also have minor shows (heat, velocity, and ECW) where all minor shows anyone rostered on any show can face off with anyone so titles can potentially swing from show to show
I think they got ricochet in the wwe championship division because he was the number 2 babyface in smackdown if I remember interviews correctly from when the game first came out
What I do is go back to the past and start every show with their oldest show and use the old titles and as the year progresses I update the arenas and championships
Thank you for the video, but I have questions 1. What happens to the superstars that are not put into a championship division, can they randomly join it through out playing the universe or do I have to put them in the division? 2. Are matches for example 1v1s with a 40% chance to happen guaranteed to be championship matches if championship is selected or can there still be only normal 1v1s and maybe not even a championship match at all? 3. If I select a few matchtypes to be as the main event can it change each week? I want to see a second video for sure😄 the most interesting part for me are the match tables
My Universe Monday Night Raw........male superstars over 205 Wednesday 205 Live........male superstars under 205 of course Friday Smackdown........only female superstars Saturday Night Main Event.......Raw 205 and Smackdown roster It's a cool concept for me. So yeah they need to focus more on Universe Mode cause that makes the game. Can't wait for 2k23
Been waiting for a video like this since it came out xD Very helpful but i have one question, how do you manage to remember whos on what show and what is happening etc... I would love in 2k23 if they could just have a little Raw/Smackdown/Nxt next to each name so i know...
I go in to the superstars and you can see which brand they’re assigned to. I also try to keep my rosters relatively low so I can sorta keep track mentally, and I’ll jump in to show details to see the divisions
Hopefully 2k finally fix it so when you edit matches on a specific show only those superstars appear. Having to remember who belongs where and cycle through them Is exhausting.
I make all long rivalries low and Short rivalries on high. I also put the women on raw smackdown and nxt and I make a note of 10 to 20 stars to draft for the men every April. Honestly, Drafting should be a standard thing.

Since i bought the game 3 months ago, i have 2 problems: 1) it doesn't let me create wrestlers or change attires 2) It doesn't let me set Tag Finishers
Oh man, while I was watching I could relate to so many things. 😅 It literally takes me over a month to set up my Universe properly before I can even play a single match at all. The only difference compared to you, is that I absolutely don't care about it being up to date. I just want it to be set exactly the way I want it, but don't care about how ( very ) different to the current product it is. I still use recently released people like Nia Jax, Murphy, Tucker, and Cesaro, and also many legends, like Booker T, Nash, Hall, Bret, Goldberg, JBL, and many more, in weekly shows. But yeah, the work put into setting up Universe is just as big, if not even bigger since I'm using a lot more people than you do. I currently have 93 person on Raw and 73 person on SD. 😅 The only ones I don't use are alts ( I use Shinsuke, Demon Balor, Miz '11, Ziggler '09, Nash, and Hall, but not King Nakamura, Finn Balor, The Miz, Dolph Ziggler, Diesel, and Razor Ramon, for example ) , non wrestlers ( Logan, Mr.T, Machine Gun Kelly, and so on, who are just completely useless, wasted real wrestlers slots ) , and a few legends ( Doink, Faarooq because he's useless to me without a Bradshaw in the game, Road Dogg who is useless too to me without Billy Gunn, Jake Roberts, Jerry Lawler, Papa Shango, and a few more ) but other than, I use everyone else for my weekly shows ( Kane using a '03 alt attire, Taker '10, Rock, Austin, Bret, Andre, Michaels, Triple H, Batista, hell, even Slapjack and Shane 😅 ) First, I usually edit the entrances for everyone on the roster. Adding fireworks for some, removing them for some, and so on. Well, that step wasn't possible in 2K22 since they removed custom entrances, but in previous games, it's usually my first step. Then, just like you did, I delete NXT, and every PPV, so I can put PPVs at the end of week 4 too. I plan every PPVs that I want to have, using placeholders at the end of week 4 for now, and just put the name of the PPV so that I don't forget which PPV I had planned for that month. Then, I go to Create An Arena, and create a custom arena for every PPVs I'm gonna have on my Universe, and create a custom Raw and SD arena too. As I don't like the arenas they use nowadays. I much prefer the kind of arenas they were using between 2002 to 2006. Don't like the LEDs on the ring's apron and on the turnbuckle neither so I make custom arenas who don't have any of these. And who don't have LEDs on the stage ramp neither. Like I said, good ol' 2002 to 2006 arenas style. Creating the 14 arenas needed ( 1 for Raw, 1 for SD, and 12 for the monthly PPV ) already takes days in itself. Once they're ready. I create the 14 shows needed to use them in Create A Show. Go back to Universe, and add in all of that, using the " Import a show " feature. Then customize the match card, and put as many matches as I can ( 9 for weekly shows, and 14 for PPV if I remember correctly ) . With the huge rosters that I have, having as many matches spots as possible is a necessity. That solves things for the calendar part. Then I go to Superstars, and I edit everyone's Payback, putting Move Thief in, as I feel like it's a gameplay possibility that I feel every character should have. It shouldn't be a Payback. While I'm there, I also edit everyone's Crowd Reaction and Crowd Balance. Put Minor Shows appearances on On ( even though I'm not using Minor Shows, lol ) , and deletes every Allies, Enemies, and Managers. I like having a blank page and set things up afterwards. Once that is done, I go to Tag Teams and delete all the ones I don't want ( which is about 95% of them ) , and create the ones that I want. In 2K22 for example, I've created the Brothers Of Destruction, DX with only HHH and HBK, The Outsiders, Heavy Machinery, renamed Legago Del Fantasma to Escobar & Mendoza and removed Wilde, since I prefer to use an alt CAW of Wilde as DJZ as a solo competitor, removed Kofi from the New Day since I prefer to use him as a solo competitor too. And then, since I usually have very few Tag Teams left, I create some original ones ( on Raw, I have Ali & Mansoor, Nakamura & Kushida, Murphy & O'Reilly, and Wes Lee & Swerve which I'm using as a new version of MSK, on SD I have a stable named The Hype Bros with Ilja Dragunov as the leader and A Kid and Austin Theory as his teammates ) . I'm getting creative when it comes to teams. After that, I go back to Superstars and adds Allies and Managers accordingly to my list of Teams. Once all of that is done, I go to Create A Movest, and check everyone's Special and Finisher moves, so that I can change them if I don't like the default choices. And there's usually a lot that I do change. After that, I go to Create A Championship, and creates a copy of every WWE titles I wanna use in my Universe mode, 'cause I want my titles history to be a blank page. As someone who doesn't like Reigns for example, I don't wanna see his name anywhere on my titles in my Universe. So I'm using copies. That way, I can use these titles, and not have the names I don't want to see on the title history. In my Universe, Reigns has never been world champion, and never will be. Nor have any title. I want my Universe titles history to reflect that fact. Then I go back to Universe, remove every titles holders since I won't use these titles, then removes every Championship belts from the shows, and puts my created copies instead ( for Raw, I'm using the 2003 Undisputed as my world title, the '98 to '11 IC title for midcard, the World Tag Team '02 to '10 for tag titles, and the Divas Championship. For SD I'm using the World Heavyweight Championship (big gold) as my world title, the US '03 to '20 for midcard, the WWE Tag Team '02 to '10, and the real Women's Championship from '98 to '10 ) . I leave all of them Vacant though, as I prefer to have big tournaments during weekly shows of the 1st month, and have finals for every titles held during the 1st PPV. Gotta earn the championship titles, it's not gonna be offered on a silver platter to anyone. I feel like it is more roleplay/realistic that way. Then, I go to Create A MITB, and create MITB briefcases for both World titles and both Women's titles, so I can add them to my shows too. Finally, last steps. Turning everything to Off in the Option, except Injury and Entrances. Then going back to Superstars to edit everyone, to choose who goes to Raw and who goes to SD. I then, finally, create my first few rivalries. The calendar is set, Superstars are set, Tag Teams are set, Championships are set. Everything is good and set as I want them to be. I can finally play and enjoy. Like I said, it usually takes me over a month to set everything up before I can finally start playing it ( I swear this feels like a full time job at this point 😅 ) . But it's all worth the effort in the end. About crashes and all, well, I don't use any custom render. Just not using any helps a lot in avoiding crashes ( I don't like custom renders anyway, so that's not an issue for me ) . There is a bug in 2K22 that makes it impossible to add MITB to shows though. If having more than 3 customized MITB ( which is my case, 2 for each world titles, and 2 for each women's title ) then the game automatically crashes and closes every time when trying to add a briefcase in the list of the show's titles ( on Xbox One X at least ) . So, I can't actually assign the MITB briefcases to my shows list of titles, but other than that, I've experienced very few bugs/crashes in my Universe mode ( since the last real patch they made, at least ) .
So do you add more wrestlers or events later or do you keep it realistic?like do you add hulk Hogan, brock Lesnar, shawn Michael's, Steve Austin?.. blahblah. Still trying to figure out how divisions and rankings work
I don't know, how the rankings work, myself. But in divisions, you can set your main eventers, midcarders and undercards division. The all creation is up to you, either do a realistic run, focus on a specific era, a mash up of all eras, mix superstars from other promotions or use new/original ones, is up to your taste. Myself I do a mash up of all eras + new original superstars and superstars from NJPW/Stardom and AEW.
I hate that even if I select a roster, when I'm creating a show and I'm setting up the matches the game gives me THE ENTIRE ROSTER and I always have to remember who is actually on my show
I do a what if universe with WCW, ECW and NWO shows. It's fun making new teams and factions and editing attires. I have NWO wolfpac as Hbk, Dolph, Seth and Finn Balor and I did them all alternate attires and entrances etc... I made a new blood and millionaires club factions, millionaires club is lead by Orton as the WCW champ with Batista, the Miz, Big Show and a heel Rey Mysterio. I have Samoa Joe as my ECW champ and my main heel on the show is John Cena who I literally play as the snivelling, backstabbing little bitch, cowardly heel. I take underutilised guys and make new tag teams out of them and give them tag entrances and finishers etc.... It takes a looong time to set up but that's half the fun.

This was great. It does take a lot of time to set one up, but I love how you explained it and went step by step. Can't wait for a part 2. Great job!
Thanks JC! part 2 will come in the next few days!
This is the video I was waiting so long for
Hope it’s ok
Planning my wwe 2k23 universe mode and was going to have two world titles but you got me thinking...
We need promo in this mode
Tag team promos
Backstage interviews
Contenders matches
This is great! I do very similar things . I like the idea of deleting the PPVS and putting them on the 4th week.
Actually a lot of these ideas are good and I’m gonna use them. I usually even out my brands which when up being like 70+ wrestlers between raw and SD. Anyways, look forward to seeing more video on universe mode. Not much out here so please continue! Peace !
This gave me some great ideas. Thank you!!!!!
welcome! there's part 2 and 3 for more info!

Bro we need the tag team and match table videos. You the goat ‼️
Could you do a part 2 video on how cutscenes are triggered and overall tips to keep Universe Mode fun .
You can import your exhibition tag teams and titles etc. Just start a new universe mode save and click Y then import.
Your way is very creative and I actually do recommend these tips because it saves your game from crashing.
What I do for mine is I put house shows and live events to make it more realistic
Same I put on 5 star matches there too 🤣
I know I am slightly wait but I kinda wish wwe could have it where you can upload a my universe mode and use that like when u download a roster on NBA 2k
Thanks for the vid man, it helped a lot!
I wish there was a shuffle button, like you hit it, pick the superstars you want on your universe mode and it just throws them out onto the different brands with different champions
The absence of promos killed Universe mode honestly
I agree
OMG i literally asked for this and you gave it. Thank you bruh.
told ya i'd do it !
98 to 11 IC Title Best Title Ever.
0:19 ahahaha I laughed so hard to this. I heard it with LA Knight's voice. "Dummy! YEAH!"
yEAH!
5:19 bro really became Matt Hardy 😂
I just wish it would start as a blank canvas with no one as champion, no one assigned to any show, no tag teams. It’s way too complicated having to go through all this stuff. Having a clean slate at the beginning where you can just set up shows, then choose rosters for each show, then choose belts for each show, then choose champions. Seems a lot more intuitive to do it that way to me.
WWE2K22 is a great game one of the best …. I love it no complaints they (2K) has given us so much…. Thanks for all that you do! I changed out NXT for WCW ….
I am going to do my universe like this now! Thank you for the help!
Best of luck!
I put one percent for a title match and all belts show up every show
What i usually end up doing is i start with 2 shows, 2 titles for each shows. and then drop the titles down to 1 for each start a womens only show and a tag only show, do that for 2 weeks delete the tag only show and then delete my universe and start again.
thank you for this, i definitely need a part 2 going in deeep depth 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Part 2 and 3 is out! Just check the HOW TO playlist
Enjoy
All I do is change the title holders and rosters to what they were after right wrestlemania 37 and I put edge, Cena, Brock Lesnar on raw and smackdown
I also have minor shows (heat, velocity, and ECW) where all minor shows anyone rostered on any show can face off with anyone so titles can potentially swing from show to show
I need a part 2 of this series! You should do universe mode
I think they got ricochet in the wwe championship division because he was the number 2 babyface in smackdown if I remember interviews correctly from when the game first came out
What I do is go back to the past and start every show with their oldest show and use the old titles and as the year progresses I update the arenas and championships
Thank you for the video, but I have questions
I want to see a second video for sure😄 the most interesting part for me are the match tables
could you answer these Questions in the next universe Video?😄
It pisses me off that tag team finishers are not allowed in Universe Mode
My Universe
Monday Night Raw........male superstars over 205
Wednesday 205 Live........male superstars under 205 of course
Friday Smackdown........only female superstars
Saturday Night Main Event.......Raw 205 and Smackdown roster
It's a cool concept for me. So yeah they need to focus more on Universe Mode cause that makes the game. Can't wait for 2k23
@assemble how do you do wwe shake up on universe mode
I can't get Roman Reigns and Bianca into their own rivalries. Both have custom undisputed titles and they're both on Raw as well on Smackdown.
And Main Event? There you can put Pete Dunne, Mansoor and the other you're not going to use in RAW or SmackDown
I have 81 superstars in RAW and 71 in Smackdown (not every legend included), lmfao, i just want to go crazy this time.
Welcome to- monday night smackdown!
😂
It took me weeks of preparation to set up my 2005 universe
Been waiting for a video like this since it came out xD Very helpful but i have one question, how do you manage to remember whos on what show and what is happening etc... I would love in 2k23 if they could just have a little Raw/Smackdown/Nxt next to each name so i know...
I'm finding this exact problem . I have only just downloaded the game though so I thought maybe I was being a bit stupid
LITERALLY
I go in to the superstars and you can see which brand they’re assigned to. I also try to keep my rosters relatively low so I can sorta keep track mentally, and I’ll jump in to show details to see the divisions
Hopefully 2k finally fix it so when you edit matches on a specific show only those superstars appear. Having to remember who belongs where and cycle through them Is exhausting.
I'm at work watching this & makes me wanna go punch out & go play 🤣
I also remove the title history,so I can create my own and remove all allies and enemies in superstar tab
Part 2 please and thank you!!
Why when I gave them their current attire like Edges short hair,Sami Zayn Bloodline long hair it doesn't change in the match
I make all long rivalries low and Short rivalries on high. I also put the women on raw smackdown and nxt and I make a note of 10 to 20 stars to draft for the men every April. Honestly, Drafting should be a standard thing.
What's the actually difference between high and low in terms of the actual game?
This will help, im still new to it so thanks for this
You had Liv (women’s ic champ) in the Smackdown women’s world championship division.
Yes
I won't lie but the 80s filter makes the game look better only if you tweak the contrasts saturation and fog jusy the way u like it best ❤️🤝Please give this a try you won't regret
You keep adjusting all the time but the give up you'll end up finding the best look for you and keep forever😁
And sorry for my poor English as it's not my first language 😅I'm from South africa and a huge fan of your channel💯May everyone have a blessed ending of 2022❗️🤝
Very great English my friend and I'm on pc and use shaders.
Awesome create
I do all of these. Love the videos man
Ty!
If your universe mode wont work, that means you downloaded too much from the CC and need to calm down and learn how to create yourself.
I deleted all tag teams and all my match tables are one vs one... best Universe so far
Yeah
Since i bought the game 3 months ago, i have 2 problems:
1) it doesn't let me create wrestlers or change attires
2) It doesn't let me set Tag Finishers
Oh man, while I was watching I could relate to so many things. 😅
It literally takes me over a month to set up my Universe properly before I can even play a single match at all.
The only ones I don't use are alts ( I use Shinsuke, Demon Balor, Miz '11, Ziggler '09, Nash, and Hall, but not King Nakamura, Finn Balor, The Miz, Dolph Ziggler, Diesel, and Razor Ramon, for example ) , non wrestlers ( Logan, Mr.T, Machine Gun Kelly, and so on, who are just completely useless, wasted real wrestlers slots ) , and a few legends ( Doink, Faarooq because he's useless to me without a Bradshaw in the game, Road Dogg who is useless too to me without Billy Gunn, Jake Roberts, Jerry Lawler, Papa Shango, and a few more ) but other than, I use everyone else for my weekly shows ( Kane using a '03 alt attire, Taker '10, Rock, Austin, Bret, Andre, Michaels, Triple H, Batista, hell, even Slapjack and Shane 😅 )
First, I usually edit the entrances for everyone on the roster.
All I have to say is wow...and in a good way 👍
How do you put the WWF logo back on on the title? Other people had done that with their universe mode setup.
I always do fantasy universe mode where all legends (alive or deceased) is part of it.
Smackdown fist stage with updated smackdown arena is a fire arena to create
This should be a full series.
Does anyone know how to assign tag titles to custom characters
Either on Edit shows and My Universe/championships
