bruh I saw you smudge the mouth by accident, so naturally, I hit ctrl z on my laptop without thinking. btw, I love your art, and this is REALLY GOOD! love your vids man, keep it up :-)
Thank you so much for posting this! It's affirming to see well established artists struggle when they're learning a new skill or tool - many of your moments of frustration felt familiar and made me feel better about the times I struggled with a project. Keep it up, and thank you for always staying positive!
Damn, props to you for diving into an unfamiliar workflow head-on - I know what it's like having to learn a new program to complete a project. Love the fact you talk about your fears and show your mistakes while you're learning - I think it helps us get over our own fears and practice instead of procrastinate.
Haha, I used a graphics tablet for the first time two days ago, and it was like seeing my drawing skills taken back like seven years 😂 thanks for this. It was encouraging
Yanno, your comment reminded me of something ... I am an excellent snow skier and when the new shaped skiis came out I leveled down my ski skills Was very frustrated and angry Then I learned new skills to match the new skiis .... my mistake was applying old skills to new tech ( i call it the old cranky guy syndrome ) of course I have embraced the new tech and my art is blooming along with my skill development
Man you just gave me a JESUS moment with dragging that color down to fill an entire area....I have been playing with this shit for months and had NO idea that was possible it was making me crazy...I LITERALLY yelled out when you did that....this came out amazing for this being your first ever fully digital work...amazing man.
I keep being amazed by your work, and money management!! The way you save money and innovate in use of old things for creativity is brilliant~ And not to mention your style! Dude, you are the dream to be for many people. (I'm going into the field of medicine, but art has always been a hobby that I've done for my complete pleasure)
Right on! I love using Procreate and my apple pencil also! Especially love the "touch screen shortcuts". Also love that it records your process and exports it as a video! It's how I make my speed drawing videos. I tagged you in one not too long ago, when you challenged people to recreate their old drawings. The technical pen is awesome with a high streamline setting .
I use a matter protector (not Paperlike, but a cheaper alternative) and while you sacrifice clarity of seeing how well the colors look a tad, the feeling puts me right back home with the classic paper-pencil feel. MUCH more comfortable than glossing the pen over the slick screen for sure. You can get some for $15, so TOTALLY worth it especially if you've already invested in a new ipad and apple pencil.
Hey 10 Hun!! this is one of the best episodes yet. I prefer the process of analog 2D work as well, but like yourself I'm well aware that digital production is worth giving a shot. Your transparency as it applies to your craft and technique is is very much appreciated.
You are summing up my entire existence right now watching this video....tell me it gets easier and you use it all the time now because I feel like you sound here...a fish out of water. LOVE you work and style! Epic stuffs. V
I dont have anymore videos to watch from you. You just seem like a really good dude thats been through some stuff and gotten smarter from it. Big fan of you as a person aswell as ur life and art..
It's so difficult! I agree. I just started working with procreate and it's a process. But, I do like the fact that I can take a picture of something I sketched and then basically trace it on procreate.
Yoooo, we introverts don't like tutorials... But you're true, maybe I should watch some opencanvas 6 tutorials.. I'll still suck but atleast I'll know all the features. Thanks for the idea.
I appreciated the fact that you jumped into new tools to go 100% digital. Maybe the first time, and the second or maybe the 10th time is hard, but if you master it will enlarge your creativity time and space. Imagine to save out some paper, leave your laptop at home during a travel, and be always ready to work, it's awesome. This experience will open more perspective and opportunities to you, and I wish you all the best. High five from Italy 🖐️🙋♂️
Yeah man, I've just started using Procreate myself after purchasing an iPad Pro for the first time. It's very intuitive and expands my options in the digital realm of illustration. Loving it. Enjoyed your video bro. Nice work. Peace.
stumbled across your page today and LOVING what i have seen you create. your style has cast inspiration to get on board with digitalizing illustrations of my own
I’m in love with this character. She’s missing a tooth and she’s still smiling. Carrying her purple cat. It’s real love ❤️ And now I gotta get the chocolate and the iPad.
I highly suggest buying a paperlike/matte screen protector. It just makes the overall feel of the drawing less slippery and more comfortable. Also the new apple pencil wont work with the older generation Ipad Pro. The 1st gen apple pencil is fine I use it but I've added a rubber finger grip taken off from a pen and put it on the apple pencil because it has a slippery grip as well.
So much to appreciate about all that you create....with this one in particular, your willingness to take the risk and explore new things....tunes were great too!
I love your video and artistry, and realness as being artist of using a product you never really used before. It gives me hope that I can be creative as well as artist in technology I never used before as well too.
Dudeman! I am a teacher, and totally using your videos for tutorials for my Middle School students, I will let you know how it goes, some are kinda stuck using Chromebooks and are limited as to what websites and programs they can access and/or download. So hopefully they can hybridize some of your creative process for their own work, (especially your coloring vid using free programs and workarounds) some students have tablets, phones and others only have the distance learning (COVID) School Chromebooks. Let me know if you want to send them a message, etc... Encouragement for the young'n's always welcome, #grateful. Hope you and fam are safe and well. Keep on keep'n on brother, I appreciate you and your work!
Dear teacher I am an old school artist Another thing you might do is collage style. Ie: pull up photos and ask students to paint and draw over and around them also since we are digital they can send the image around to each other and change it like an old game of telephone their imagination will blow you away
This was awesome! I have no experience with procreate but I def wanna check it out now. I love seeing you experiment with new tools and mediums, super dope man.
THIS is awesome! Thank YOU very much for doing this. I am a paper pencil type person and have and I got so frustrated with the fast and easy way to create. I grew up in Jamaica and had to build some of my toys. THIS is a new era but I can and will always appreciate REAL ART. HOWEVER, I must say beating that I am so inspired by your work and how you share your passion this video opened my mind to use procreate as a quick way to release so I can do more art since I don't have the TIME to do what I live because I'm working so I can have more time soon. I.G.. K.C.A.M. CREATIONS
that was a phenomenal first attempt with a new technique and new software. I'm a brand new artist still trying to find the right software to learn with. I think that was a great testimony to procreate. Thank you for the inspiration.
Just purchased my first tablet, and though I see tremendous value in having it in my arsenal I also see how alien it is. Thank you for showing us a common ground, and thank you for making this video! Much love from Parkersburg, WV.
Ahhh the best video content that I need for now. You show how it's feel like trying ipad Pro for the first time. Auto like & auto not skip ads for this video 😊
Nice! :) And the mate screen protector does really work great, you can also get a half glove that help sliding your hand over the screen without smudging or sticking to it... I love procreate and you have a lots of function and tool that makes your life easier!
first let me say i love your art style. it is super dope. i am new to the digital art game. been drawing since i was about 10. i appreciate this video. kind of gave me some confidence. looking forward to more videos bro. keep doin yo thing!
I feel you. Going from traditional art to digital art was a BIG learning curve for me. Also yes I feels weird drawing on the tablet, but with practice, I finally got the hang of it. 💜 You did good on your first try. 💜
I know this is an older video, but I wanted to go ahead and comment. Procreate has sooo many features that, to me, are easier to access and use than photoshop. If you enjoyed this at all I'd definitely look further into it. It's not too hard to learn. Photoshop had much more of a learning curve! Procreate is really a robust program, even though it feels simple. It's just nice to use. There's so much you can do with the layers. I used to just use photoshop and illustrator but I love the portability of my iPad and Apple pencil. I can just sit on my couch or wherever and not have to be hooked to a pc. I love it! And I really love procreate and affinity designer (for vector art). For me they replaced photoshop and illustrator. :) I would recommend a newer model iPad pro to get more layers and better performance. But, it's worth it. ETA: yes, the matte screen protectors are a must! You can start with a cheap one to see how you feel about it. It does make the screen a little grainy, but most artists agree it's worth that trade off for the easier drawing experience. Also, an anti-fouling glove is a must for me or my hand wants to catch on the screen regardless of if there's a screen protector. They are super cheap, though.
This is how I feel every time I use Procreate. There are some cool g-pens for inking about. It’s nice to see we are all on the same curve when we use the iPad initially. You made it look easy.
Pieces looks really good. Digital drawing is so foreign to me too, but has such a nice finish to it. It can open up a whole new world in products and things that you can accomplish!!!
Found your channel recently, been binge watching all your videos. Love you're work, you've given me the inspiration I needed to take up art again🎨🖌️ thank you.... Much love, from Ireland ✌️
Hey Ten Hundred, can you do a Procreate update video thingy please? I love watching you draw and in your newer videos you have your process DOWN. I’d love to know more about your pencil and pen choices on the iPad xxx
This is perfect timing because I’m gonna get an iPad Pro this week! It makes me feel a lot better knowing that you- a great traditional and digital artist- had some struggles with it. Now I won’t feel so dumb when I inevitably struggle with it myself lol. Also, Apple did promise that there would be full Photoshop coming to iPad sometime at the end of this year, so maybe you would like using that to ink your drawings! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
You can double tap with two fingers to erase and the screen protector that feels like paper is matte it doesn't affect the work and it feels way better than without it!
I know photoshop in and out. But honestly, procreate is the real tool for drawing and painting digitally! It's worth every cent. To learn about the shortcuts is essential! Btw. procreate records every movement on the app and gives you the ability to extract a timelapsed video. ;)
oh, and to select a color from your artwork, you tap and hold on the color you want on the painting and a little circle will pop up with the selected color.
This is the best app i've ever used. You can undo with two finger tap instantly, layer mask, etc. Constant updates also. I bought it shen it was £5.00 a couple years ago
The first ipad pro is more than enough man. Looking forward to more! I personally do use a "paper" screen cover on mine, i'd suggest you try one (you can find cheap ones on amazon.. tho i'd spring for a mid-tier one at the least). It may be a more "familiar" feel for you
Do more of these video's bro because i would love to see how you develop your procreate skills! I think when you give it some more time you will love it BIG time!
Never thought I’d like digital art but tried procreate. Great seeing you use for first time nkw you’re proficient in it. That drop fill will help a lot !! Now I need to sell a bunch of stuff so I can afford my own iPad and copy of procreate. Tech has come on a long way !! ☺️
I feel like once you get to know the ins and outs of procreate it's way better for drawing and concept sketching than Photoshop. The older iPad pro doesn't have the system resources to give you enough layers in procreate, unfortunately. You would be able to have a lot more layers on the second gen of iPad pro. I hope you consider using procreate again in the future, it's so handy and portable! But! It's also important to work in the medium you are most comfortable with. Kudos for not being afraid to try new things and experiment, you might discover something you like.
You NEED to get yourself a Huion drawing tablet, they work just as good as WACOM and a fraction of the cost, i've had a Huion 1060Plus(8192) for a while and honestly it's moved me completely away from drawing on paper due to the effectiveness of how you can tweak pressure sensitivity between it's drivers and AutoDesk Sketchbook's sensitivity tweaking settings on a per brush basis. It's honestly been life changing for my art.
I have an iPad and procreate and I got discouraged from using it because when I’d ink my sketches they just didn’t look like my drawings anymore... not sure if it’s because I need to invest in some brushes that feel more like my style or what. This has inspired me to give it another go though because I hate not using it since I spent a lot on it.
Great job bro! I feel the more you use this app the more you will see how awesome and easy it is. It feel way more organic than Photoshop and you will, oh yes, you will like it more soon :)
Fantastic work bro. I have been doing Procreate from day one. It’s come a loooong way. With more features to come. I beta test for them. Stick with it, you won’t regret it.
bruh I saw you smudge the mouth by accident, so naturally, I hit ctrl z on my laptop without thinking. btw, I love your art, and this is REALLY GOOD! love your vids man, keep it up :-)
Sometimes I put my fingers in strg+z style on the paper I draw on XD
MaryArts I do that, too. Recently I made a traditional painting for years and it was awful at first. 😂
thats a gift sense bruh
MaryArts haha yeah I use procreate and whenever I do traditional I catch myself going to tap the paper with 2 fingers to undo 😂
I was sketching on a paper while in class and made a mistake, I did a double tap on the paper to undo 😅
Thank you so much for posting this! It's affirming to see well established artists struggle when they're learning a new skill or tool - many of your moments of frustration felt familiar and made me feel better about the times I struggled with a project. Keep it up, and thank you for always staying positive!
Not sure if anyone mentioned yet, but getting a matte screen protector will help you get that paper/pencil feeling.
He said it in the video near the beginning and asked if anyone recommends them
I thought about getting one early on, but I got used to that gliiiiiiiide super quick.
You can use a paperlike screenprotector!
PAPPER LIKE
👍
It's great to see you push yourself. I'm not much of an artist bit I can appreciate someone making a brand new experience public
Damn, props to you for diving into an unfamiliar workflow head-on - I know what it's like having to learn a new program to complete a project. Krei Zii, so it’s been a year...how goes the graphics tablet?
What you can try, is use a 5-15% opacity white and black brushes for highlighting/shading and paint over parts. Works great.
Apart from your great artwork, it's just a pleasure to see you at work all positive and joking around! Such a great guy!
Man you just gave me a JESUS moment with dragging that color down to fill an entire area....I have been playing with this shit for months and had NO idea that was possible it was making me crazy...I LITERALLY yelled out when you did that....this came out amazing for this being your first ever fully digital work...amazing man.

Your talent is so so gooooooood. No matter first time using it looks like this is how you've always done it
This is really great! I suck at paper and pencile, but its so easy for me to do digital work.
The end product is nice, keep up the good work!
I use a matter protector (not Paperlike, but a cheaper alternative) and while you sacrifice clarity of seeing how well the colors look a tad, the feeling puts me right back home with the classic paper-pencil feel. MUCH more comfortable than glossing the pen over the slick screen for sure.

I think it was pretty dope the way you showed your art at the end. KEEP THE GOOD SHIT UP TEN
I color on different layers, you can alpha lock a layer and youll only be able to color/shade on that layer. Helps a ton
You are summing up my entire existence right now watching this video....tell me it gets easier and you use it all the time now because I feel like you sound here...a fish out of water. LOVE you work and style! Epic stuffs. V

It's so difficult! I agree. I just started working with procreate and it's a process. But, I do like the fact that I can take a picture of something I sketched and then basically trace it on procreate.
if you would have watched one tutorial for procreate the amount of time spent on this piece would have been cut down by sooo much.
That was the whole point of the video *wooooooosh*
Yoooo, we introverts don't like tutorials... But you're true, maybe I should watch some opencanvas 6 tutorials.. I'll still suck but atleast I'll know all the features. Thanks for the idea.

Always looking forward to each new video, always enjoy watching you work, great job love the new drawing
Finally a real time, we need more of this process
You should make a coloring book!
Like so he can see👍🏻
Sierra Scheer frfr
There is one on his website rn for free!
Yea, he just made a free one
Yeah man, I've just started using Procreate myself after purchasing an iPad Pro for the first time. It's very intuitive and expands my options in the digital realm of illustration. Loving it. Enjoyed your video bro. Nice work. Peace.
Bought Procreate 2 yrs ago and have dabbled with it and given up. Your success - another winner! - I'm going back to the drawing board.
stumbled across your page today and LOVING what i have seen you create. your style has cast inspiration to get on board with digitalizing illustrations of my own

You know he never used the iPad Pro anymore, when he tries to “slide to unlock” 😝
He was maybe checking the apple pencil battery ? XD
frick that its "press home to unlock"
Never thought I’d rewatch one of my favorite tenhun vids and get a tenhun ad
You're a true artist, you're original and creative. Thank you
Get a matte cover screen. It’ll help with the feeling. It’ll feel like you’re drawing on paper
So much to appreciate about all that you create....with this one in particular, your willingness to take the risk and explore new things....tunes were great too!
I've been using Procreate for about a year. Once you get comfortable with the shortcuts it's super nice!
TENZING definitely. My only problem is that the iPad lineup can’t handle large canvas sizes
I love your video and artistry, and realness as being artist of using a product you never really used before. It gives me hope that I can be creative as well as artist in technology I never used before as well too.
I commented asking if you're gonna do a painting full on digital, didn't expect you're gonna do it so soon. Great result mate, love it! :)
Dudeman! I am a teacher, and totally using your videos for tutorials for my Middle School students, I will let you know how it goes, some are kinda stuck using Chromebooks and are limited as to what websites and programs they can access and/or download. Fantastic work for first time........i don't think you know just how good you are! Keep it up!
that was a phenomenal first attempt with a new technique and new software. I'm a brand new artist still trying to find the right software to learn with. I think that was a great testimony to procreate. Thank you for the inspiration.
I definitely recommend procreate, it confusing at first but after that it’s a great software
WOW YOU DID SO GOOD, THE SHADING AND EVERYTHING IS GREAT!! 👍❤
Nice! :) And the mate screen protector does really work great, you can also get a half glove that help sliding your hand over the screen without smudging or sticking to it... I love procreate and you have a lots of function and tool that makes your life easier!
Dude you killed it! As someone who made the transition to iPad/ Procreate only in the last year, you really caught on quickly!
first let me say i love your art style. it is super dope. i am new to the digital art game. been drawing since i was about 10. i appreciate this video. kind of gave me some confidence. looking forward to more videos bro. keep doin yo thing!

Best video yet! PLEASSEEEE do an update of you now using Procreate now that youre more familiar with it!
Found your channel recently, been binge watching all your videos. Love you're work,
you've given me the inspiration I needed to take up art again🎨🖌️

Much love, from Ireland ✌️
I really loved your pencil sketch on the iPad before the colours
You are a real inspiration, love all your videos. Thank you!!!!!
PS: WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU DO AN OIL PAINTING.
Beautiful piece!!! Amazing work!
Great video. I have the same equipment but I'm totally intimidated to try it but I think you've given me optimism. Keep posting
Love the music you make for your videos
Hey Ten Hundred, can you do a Procreate update video thingy please? I love watching you draw and in your newer videos you have your process DOWN. I’d love to know more about your pencil and pen choices on the iPad xxx

This is more fun to watch than I intitially thought it was going to be. Great work like always!!
This is certainly new and im loving it.. Great to expand your horizon
You can also tap on the brush to change all of its properties a la PS. Might give you the control you're looking for!
That is the absolute best rendering I have ever seen on an iPad Pro you sir are a Genius
what a great video! thank you very much, work and process is fascinating. I love your honest with your experience too thanks man
I love it. It makes me so happy
Sick first pass on an iPad. Very encouraging for people like me that are so connected to pen & paper. Thanks 10hun!
You inspire me so much to stick with my art thank you
Thanks for being authentic!
oh, and to select a color from your artwork, you tap and hold on the color you want on the painting and a little circle will pop up with the selected color.
this is so weird, i live in Washington 55 min away from Seattle and I've found 3 youtubers from Seattle and there all so dope. love your art work
Jennifer Guisti Lake Stevens is where I’m from lol
This is the best app i've ever used. You can undo with two finger tap instantly, layer mask, etc. Constant updates also. I bought it shen it was £5.00 a couple years ago
now I will also want to try to draw on my iPad! damn you 10Hun making me feel creative! btw love your work!
You did so well. It’s good to challenge yourself.
The first ipad pro is more than enough man. Looking forward to more! I personally do use a "paper" screen cover on mine, i'd suggest you try one (you can find cheap ones on amazon.. tho i'd spring for a mid-tier one at the least). It may be a more "familiar" feel for you
Brutal ! Love it . You handled Procreate like a pro
Do more of these video's bro because i would love to see how you develop your procreate skills! I think when you give it some more time you will love it BIG time!
I definitely recommend the PaperLike screen protector. It really makes a difference. It feels and sounds like sketching on real paper.
Does it waste away at the tip of the pencil? Mine hasn't worn out but I don't use a screen protector
Hey, this is the first time I'm seeing your videos. I'm in love with your content. Thanks!

Dude that sketch is amazing
I just recently found you this week and think your style is so interesting. Very "new school" i love it
You NEED to get yourself a Huion drawing tablet, they work just as good as WACOM and a fraction of the cost, i've had a Huion 1060Plus(8192) for a while and honestly it's moved me completely away from drawing on paper due to the effectiveness of how you can tweak pressure sensitivity between it's drivers and AutoDesk Sketchbook's sensitivity tweaking settings on a per brush basis. It's honestly been life changing for my art.
Sir can you do a video on how to draw for prints, like a technical vid/break down vid?
Like a digital drawing then printed by a print shop?
I have an iPad and procreate and I got discouraged from using it because when I’d ink my sketches they just didn’t look like my drawings anymore... not sure if it’s because I need to invest in some brushes that feel more like my style or what. This has inspired me to give it another go though because I hate not using it since I spent a lot on it.
Great job bro! I feel the more you use this app the more you will see how awesome and easy it is. It feel way more organic than Photoshop and you will, oh yes, you will like it more soon :)
Epic stuff mate! inspiring!
there is an screenprotector called paperlike, a lot of students use it to write on the ipad. TRY ITTTTTT: Great vid, much love
Francisco Sb it’s damn expensive though. Any matte screen protector would do
Fantastic work bro. I have been doing Procreate from day one. It’s come a loooong way. With more features to come. I beta test for them. Stick with it, you won’t regret it.
I feel like I might try my pro and pencil now! Thanks!
