I think the fact that they are getting their commissions later than expected is actually a good thing, because Ten Hundred has evolved so much and become so much more refined in his line and mark making.
I was thinking the same thing. Especially looking back, he has grown so much in his use of color and subtle contrast.
The crazy thing is, when I watched him those years ago, I thought his art was awesome then!
@@scottcarr5014 Good point there. I often look back at his earlier videos, and his first major show: Reincarnated in particular. He had such awesome energy and his artwork was so original. I really loved the pieces where he collaged his work and characters over pre-exiting paintings. Now a days there is so much unnecessary noise; and what makes the world a better place is genuine people like Ten Hundred who put out awesome content.
@@julianthom6017 I completely agree with you about his earlier videos.. The "Reincarnated" video is one of our favorites too! It was "real" and humble. What we feel is unnecessary noise, is Peter's new blingy, stock footage, digital effects and over the top Silly Drama. We just go back and re-watch his awesome earlier videos without all the drama and video bling and truly get inspired by his actual Amazing Art!! Don't get us wrong, we absolutely love Peter, the Positive, hands on, unique Artist that we subscribed to 3 or 4 years ago.
To have one of his last commissions is something that makes them more valuable. Wish I could get one
@@recoveringsoul755 True, when something is limited by nature it is substantially more precious; and if I'm not mistaken, the one guy who commissioned the memory box (or whatever you want to call it) was an avid collector of Ten Hundreds work. Therfore, it must be really cool to have different works from different times in the artists career.
They all turned out great, but the family portrait is definitely my favorite. I really love hot rods, so i might be biased on this one. Also amazing to see how much your art progressed over the years, i had forgotten about some of those commissions and seeing them again was really great. I already thought that you were an amazing artist back then, but man, seeing the comparison is just mind-blowing.
All 3 came out great… also, thanks for the positivity in this vid, I know there were misunderstandings in part 1, but as usual, you listened and grew. BTW, my nephew has been begging for a TENHUN shirt forever, and when you released the baseball jersey I snapped it up (we now have matching shirts). Just gave it to him yesterday and he ❤❤❤ loved it.
Also, really looking forward to my Vivid Kingdoms pieces, I’ve kept up with your messages on Kickstarter… Im not mad. I know it will be worth the wait! 😊
It’s crazy how much an unfinished commission can weigh on an artist. Makes it hard to create things, if it’s not purely from my own mind. This two part video of yours has inspired me to do the same. I have about 16 commissions I need to bust out here asap. But it’s a big no after that.
I got my Vivid Kingdoms cards and prints a few weeks ago. I'm still just looking through them every day, like how cool are these?!?! So happy with everything I got!
These turned out great!
... I was disappointed when the last video ended on a cliffhanger ... because I was invested.
That said my fav part of this video ended up being you talking about the you your past commission and what you learn't. I would love to a full video like that.
PS -I think you should do commissions in the future but maybe like as a giveaway or something special. Just an idea.
Really liking the positive tone of this video! It's incredible seeing just how much you've grown. I actually remember many of these commissions. Since we were able to see your artistic journey through youtube, the changes seemed so gradual, but this really puts things in perspective.
Stunning as always! I think you will miss these crazy commissions! (And the inspirations the can give!)
Well said. Not to mention how nice it must be to be paid so well for Art and paintings.
Really well done on the voice over and editing mate. Really a step up from the last video. Relatable and humble, acknowledges your fans and supporters. Nice positive vibe of growth.
Wooop! My order has arrived :))) thanks a mill for your amazing cards and hoodie !
I’m sorry that this turned into such a horror for you, you’ll look back on it in a few years time with an enormous sense of accomplishment, and you should be enormously happy with what you have achieved, and brought happiness to so many of us Ten Hundreders !!
One of the things that I like most about your videos as well as other artists on UA-cam that I fallow is that you speak about your feelings about the art process. Take this video for example. You talked about the guilt you feel when having to make a costumer wait for a commission. I’m in the middle of a commission myself and am taking longer than I expected. It’s good to know that I’m not the only one that feels this way. It’s less lonely out here when we know we’re all going through the same struggles.
Bravo! thanks for sharing your process with us. blessings.
Congrats on an epic end to a chapter in your journey. The quick look backs, they were amazing to see... growth man! GROWTH! Loved the overall feeling in this... I'm hoping you felt that it was genuine, it definitely came across as that.
Congrats on being done with commissions! I gave up on commissions a little while ago, I started out doing wood burned pet portraits and family portraits. Got burned out on those pretty quick (get it? Wood burning… burned out) anyway love the work! Way to finish strong 🌻
PLEASE make more skateboards. They turned out so good.
Also, that varnish looks so good. It's so shiny and smooth, almost like resin?
all three turned out awesome 🤩 but the idea of making art on skate decks again is 10000…00 out of 10, absolutely love it
"You just really never know what one moment will lead to, and where inspiration will come from on this convoluted journey of creativity." Put this on my gravestone! Such epic words to apply to art and life!
It's been awesome to see your style evolve and I'm glad your commissions have helped you grow. But from one artist to another, I understand the relief you must feel ending this chapter of your career. Excited to see what's next!
Wow! This is one of the best videos I've ever seen! Loved the reflecting on past commissions paired with painting process. So inspiring!
They are beautiful! Congratulations on finishing up your commissions!
Amazing as always the family portrait is my favorite. Your style is so recognizable! ❤
6:00 Ultramega, I have a signed print of this piece. I absolutely love it! It’s now part of a collage of signed prints and originals on my wall, along side other artists such as Loish, Banksy, Zombie DDS, Abys, Cheo, Draw with Jazza, Tim Rogerson (Disney), Arcy (Disney), Cantwo and Mad C. 😊
My family was a little hesitant to watch this one after part 1 felt like a negative rant from an overworked artist.
We are glad to see you finish these up. All of these commissions have helped you become the artist you are, and we were glad to see you celebrate this.
same 😅
Solution to you yellow problem: you use a dark base for background. On the parts you want to be yellow, first use one or 2 layers white, then add yellow. This way you might only need 1 layer of yellow!! Xx
I did put a base of white under the yellow first. You can see it in the video, but with editing it goes by quick. Seems like not having the white show through all splotchy is just as tricky as not having a dark color show through. Yellow is just a tricky lil devil. Especially since I don't use heavy body acrylics, I use liquid acrylics. It's just a super thin and not opaque color. The struggle is real :)
This is one of my favorite videos of yours. It was great to see some of your past fave commissions and hear how they impacted you and your art. The Pikachu dude is my favorite, with his little kimono and details.
Come back to Seattle! I remember the first time I walked past your Studio and it was closed down. That was a sad day!
Happy for you that you got to this point in your career where you're free to do whatever the heart desires! Last commissions are sick! It's been a blast watching your channel grow since 2019! 🌴🎭
I loved seeing this come to fruition ❤ My fave is the family portrait.
Really proud of you, finishing commissions is really the best feeling for an artist :D ❤
Excited to see every new art and project from you that is coming this year
Very nice all of these creations, my favorite is the Family Portrait, it’s lively, with tons of movement. Makes me smile ❤
Ten Hundred awesome work, glad to hear the confidence, and willingness to try new things. Congradulations.
I love all the clean fresh lines on the family portrait! Most of my art is on cloth, so my lines don't get very crisp and a lot of my detail work has to be more suggestive. I am fascinated by the hot rod engine!
love takin breaks with my art to see ur art, very inspiring. Crazy that i remembered seeing an alley mural of yours in Berlin before knowing who you were with a channel. Your last commissions came out amazeballs ...they are all my favorite. No one of them is better than the other, especially to the people that are getting them. Nice to have that stress gone. 2019 holy fu*#? They got a good deal for sure.
Those are all so beautiful. Will you be putting the clasp on the box the right side up? Thanks for your videos!!!
That’s right Ten Hun. They’re getting 2023 Art. Love it and can’t wait to get mine too. The Last Supper is in my cart.
Hey man, I’m doing your course on Studio and it’s great, I’m loving painting on wooden canvasses and taking my skills to the next level under your expert tuition. Thanks for being an inspiration! ❤️✌️
amazing and this made me smile. Haunted by commissions! It's so true---- love the work but sometimes it's really a drag to complete. So different than doing work that you have a burning inspo for
I think the tone of this video is so much better than the first part.
Man! I've just circled back around to watching your videos again after a few years! What a ride it's been! Whilst it's sad to hear you're ending you commission run, I'm stoked to hear all is going well for you in other avenues! (Would love to see a Ten Hun Snowboard line though - I would snap that puppy up reeeeeal quick). Much love to you and the family 🤙
Your Last Supper painting is beautiful ❤
The pokémon one is definitely my favorite, I remember watching the skateboard videos when they came out! Crazy it’s been 3 years, kinda unreal.
What a rad set of paintings man! Really love what you did to them and the explanation of your process and journey. Really hope you will find some time to do more commissions in the future though!
Nice. I bet you have a huge feeling of relief finally checking these off your to do list!
I love them all !! You’re awesome!!!
I’m sad that the commission era is done but it’s always a joy to see your talent at work. You have a special place in my heart. 3 years ago the first video I ever watched was your skateboard commission mentioned. At the time I had just started making art again after like five years and I started skating again. I wanted to do my own artwork on my deck but didn’t know how. When I searched on UA-cam your video came up and after watching it I was hooked to your channel. You inspired me to make my brand and showed me that it is possible to make a career out of your passion. You taught me how to expand my art world and for that I thank you so much, it really changed my life. Thank you for sharing your talent and igniting artist like me trying to figure it out ❤❤❤❤❤
@Ten Hundred hey man, congrats on finishing out the commissions. I just received my vivid kingdoms stuff, and the wait was so worth it! I never saw a reason to complain because you have always seemed like a genuine person who wasn't going to stop until the orders were filled. Thank you and I think if you ever decide to paint skate decks again I think a vivid kingdom skate board would be a sick way to honor the crazy journey that came from all of it......I would definitely love to have a deck on the wall between my framed un cut sheets! Keep moving forward, man, and I'll always be here to support you!
Oh my gosh! I just got my vivid kingdom stuff today and I’m so stoked to have my first ever 10 hun art! This is the first ever art I’ve bought and it’s immaculate! Your team helped me so much when I had a medical crisis and my sizes changed! I love it!!! And you as an artist!
Well worth The Wait, So Cool!!!!!
Love your art and seeing you progress and progress and progress
Woah! I can’t believe how much you’ve improved your artwork, especially the backgrounds..and characters.. everything! Last time I watched one of your videos was probably sometime October of 2019 and to watch this video here just got me all excited to see that practice does indeed make perfect!
I have just found you. You make me so happy. I love you original music on your channel. I love you story, journey. Thank you for sharing your kindness and light in this sometimes dark world. You are a beacon.
Nice!! Love that this video came so soon!!!
Wow WoW WOW! Totally freaking amazing work! My favorite is Picochu! Love the colors you used on him!!! But over all the like the hot rod family portrait love all the blues in this one!!!! Congratulations getting them done!!🤙🏻😎👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you for always sharing your work, you are an inspiration to artist, keep it up
They are all great the memory box is such a great idea but the family portrait is my favorite.
CONGRATS ON COMPLETING THEM!! I LOVE the pokemon one, the little pikachu is adorable
Family portrait is the best, impressed with the detail and accuracy of the car, especially the engine. Great job!
You've given a reason to push through and just do it!!!!!😊👏🏿👏🏿💯
Super sick the details and backgrounds going up so much!
its insane watching you talk about past commissions that ive already watched when it came oout
these videos are very inspiring, thanks for what you make 🙏
It's nice to be back hanging 'Thumbsup' on TenHun videos again. The last one was the only one in your entire video catalog that didn't get one from me and probably won't since I don't really want to go back and watch it again. It felt like you were disrespecting your roots--all the way back to the Seattle and Statix days when you really needed those commissions. I get it, I do. Just wasn't prepared for the negative energy I felt from that particular video. The vignettes of your past commission work included with this video was a really nice addition that I wish was in the last video too--hindsight is 20/20 though. Soldier on and Keep On Truckin'!
These were all sooooo sick......and just wanted to say my vivid kingdoms stuff all came in the mail and i couldnt be happier!!! The cards, the sheet, the shirts, the stickers, the hoodie everything is sooo dope and i know it was an extremely stressful thing for u, in emails u were really beating urself up over it but just wanted to say how amazing evrything is and how pumped I am to add these to my collection of other pieces i have from you...and ontop of all that ur motivating me to keep going more and more with my own art....so thanks, keep killin it dude
The family portrait painting is definitely my fave
There were so many times in my life where I could’ve had so many commissions done and I get afraid and never done them this has inspired me to start back up in my art and creativity. Thank you.
Love your stuff!!!!! Got one of your shirts, that I’ll be repping out in the wild!
Coongraaaaats! That heavy feeling now off your shoulders and heart! Enjoy!
I really liked the family portrait all the Color’s and the background so nice! 😎
I'm new to your channel, I'm a 62 year old fart going on 18, I've been painting all my life but you and the kind of guys that collaborate with have inspired me to try your kind of art, it might end up magic or tragic, but who knows, keep it coming because it's all good. ❤
Bravo Peter! All 3 are amazing! Take a break, clear your head, enjoy your family and next month back at it........at least that's what I keep telling myself. I took a break to raise 3 westie puppies. They left last weekend and I hit the finish rack yesterday doing all my resin coats. Ugh.....I need to keep up with things....lol
Wonderful as always… actually yesterday I missed your videos and checked on the channel to see if you posted anything new, ended up watching a video if a fan who received his VK cards ❤
Hi my name is Koro and i just wanna say that i love ur vids and u inspire me to make art everyday and because of u i want to become a muralist because of you so i wanna say thank you to u ten hun and plz keep making these videos they really inspire me and many who watch these!!!!!
Love the family portrait so hard --the hairless cat is hilarious and awesome, really amps up how nuts the family members look
You do the coolest videos of art making, man!! no contest! I enjoy a lot watching this and getting inspired to make my own workshop / paint studio. Saludos desde Ecuador, Hispanoamérica.
I love the family portrait! I think most people would love your take on a family portrait.❤❤❤
fun projects! was fun to watch!
Well Peter, you created 3 amazing artworks! You have completed your commissions list so now what? What are your ideas for creating paintings to sell? Will you still do murals? Have you thought about T-Shirts? Will you create dedicated art for just T’s? A Lot of questions, perhaps you can do a video about what comes next for you and your art journey? I am glad you are no longer stressed about completing the commissions. I have every confidence that you can create more fantastic art, so let’s see what happens next!
I swear I'm sync to you!! I got my shirts and ironically I'm wearing your shirt today and just got complimented on it and now you post this video!! I love love love your energy and passion for your style that stands out!
Omg a lil ten hun presenting this video, that was precious 💛
That's when you know you've gotten through the survival stage of being an artist. Congrats man! I wish every artist the very best and get through every stage they are in!
Love how they turned out! The people who commissioned those artworks are very lucky :)
Congrats on finishing!! Glad you're feeling amazinggggg
My favorite is still the pokemon one, idk pikachu looks cool as hell haha
I want a print of the family painting! Cars are my life and this is my favorite from you so far!
yay!!! all done😀 time will tell if you are done, there is always someone who shows up with an idea you love and you get dragged back into commission land😝
The vibe of this video was SO much better. Thanks for the change
The family portrait painting is soooooo sick man! Great job!!
Awesome work definitely loving the pokemon one that was sick. You are definitely a big inspiration to us small artist. Can't wait to see whats up next
Love following your progression man. Thanks for continuing to share your journey! I'm a VFX artist (Avatar: The Way of Water) and you are a huge inspiration for me in my creative journey. Great stuff bro!
Love the family portrait the best but like them all thanks for sharing bro 😎
Ultra Mega was the first video I ever saw of yours, and I'm so glad I can see the circle that has now been closed in all its glory.
Congrats dude!!!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉
We just love your work!
And here I am wishing I could get my first client. 😂
I hope to reach your level in the future-Doing what I love and making a living out of it.
I didn’t realize you were based in Seattle! I’m based in Seattle too! Woot 🎉
The family portrait was my favorite!!
Another job well done! Loved the video!...Pikachu was probs my fav 😄
I love all these tips !!!!! ❤❤❤ I love you so much and I look up to you and your wife so much love you both ❤❤❤
CONGRATS ON FINISHING YOUR LAST COMMISSIONS!! 👏👏👏
These are beautiful!!! U did such a great job on them. I think the family one is the most interesting one to look at and the Pokémon one is the best one overall. I think little Lincoln will love the box for many, many years to come. Even as a teen, the box will still b dope bc, as in all of them, you are all over that piece!
You aren’t alone, I hate using yellow also lol
