As usual, I am already happily anticipating your next posting.

    South Africa has quite a crappy exchange rate which makes Golden Open a tad on the expensive side, would love to get my hands on it though, looks like so much fun.

    My sister would love this painting. She collects skulls including the Mexican brightly coloured skulls and precolumbian skulls. Her cloths have skulls on them, skull jewelry, etc. Talk about macabre. I love the smoke on this. Question. What was the music playing in the background? I’ve heard it before but can’t place it.

    Thanks for another illuminating video. One thing, though - the number of teeth of the skull's mandible are about double what's normal. 16 teeth up, 16 down. (Dude's jaw isn't from a fish, is it??)

    • @lydiabroderick867
      @lydiabroderick867  11 місяців тому

      There's actually only 14 visible on the mandible and 9 visible on the maxilla. Just counted them. It's just the way the shadows are painted. No fishes.😁

    You are an incredible artist! What’s the difference between open acrylics and adding an extender or retarder?❤

    • @lydiabroderick867
      @lydiabroderick867  11 місяців тому +1

      Hi and thank you! I always found retarders difficult to work with... Mainly because they become tacky. I like that I don't have to mix any mediums with the open acrylics to get a good blend. Also, I find the open acrylics to have a buttery feel on the canvas... More like oil paint, but not exactly.😊❤

  • @ImThatSassyChic
    @ImThatSassyChic 11 місяців тому

    Amazing as always! 🔥 Do you think someone would need to use any kind of stay wet pallet method with the open acrylics? I know they're slower drying but curious how much working time they actually have.

    • @lydiabroderick867
      @lydiabroderick867  11 місяців тому +1

      I have not had to use a stay wet palette. I've even used the same paint the next day on regular palette paper. I just lightly cover them and they last awhile. Super cool!❤
