    I'm not a nail tech, I just like playing with this stuff. A friend had a broken natural nail that was going to be an issue because the break was so far down the side. She asked if there was anything I could do and I did pretty much this process with gel and a full tip. Much to our surprise, it actually lasted so long that it grew out eventually!

    I've stated using the fiber gel like this and for fills and as it grows out I eventually use it as a natural nail overlay and it works better than anything else I've ever tried. I have very flexible natural nails and am super hard on my hands doing building projects, gardening, woodwork, dog grooming, etc. The fiber gel is a complete game changer for me, a person who has never been able to grow her nails past my nail bed at all and it's brought me so much joy, confidence and excitement.

Buff adhered nail to roughen surface and add one layer of dip powder. Buff to smooth surface and polish. This works great for me and lasts a long time.

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Рік тому +1

      Enough of the light can get around the thumb just to hold the tip in place so it doesn't move when you put it into the curing lamp. You want to make sure you do a full cure, uncovered in the lamp to ensure the product is completely set all the way through.

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Рік тому +1

      Thank you for the suggestion.
      Since the nail is flat, you would want to use either more product or a thicker product (such as our Sculptor hard gels) to fill in that gap. If you use a gel, make sure to remove the shine from the well of the tip since gel won't adhere to the shiny surface and will pop off. You can also use a pearl of acrylic to apply it. Keep in mind, acrylic or soft gels (ManQ or Fiber Gel) will soak off, but Synergy hard gels will not, so this would have to be filed off.

    Curious, maybe I missed something? When you cure the tip to the nail, you’re holding the tip in place. Is that necessary, and why? And how long do you hold the tip in place with your finger (if that’s the case). And if you do do the switch hand method, and you must hold the tip in place, how would that be a time saver? Wouldn’t you have to wait anyway (Again, if you do need to hold tip in place) ? Thanks!

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Рік тому +1

      It does a little, but that is nit the purpose for holding it this way. Tracey is holding the nail down like this so that a when curing the nail doesn't move or get air bubbles and then as long as it's cure enough to hold it in place, then she would move her hand and fully cure the nail there.
      Now we have our single finger curing light to make this step easier. Here is a video: ua-cam.com/video/gThQWIo-GWs/v-deo.html

      We can't speak on other products as we don't test them.
      These are full cover tips adhered with our fiber gel. You can also fill them with the fiber gel when they grow out.
      A basic set with one gel polish would probably be a 30 min service. So probably starting at $60 and up.

      You can use the concealer base gels but we prefer to use the fiber gel because then you can soak them off if that's your method of removal.

      If you are prepping the nail and applying properly, they can definitely last as long as acrylic or hard gel extensions. You can fill these with the fiber gel as well.

    Y’all need a tiny hand held led flashlight 🔦 to flash cure. I love the idea of using the fiber gel like a tip glue. I do this method on myself all the time but use a glue gel system from another brand but I love that yours has keratin. I’m going to order a bottle and try it out!

    Tracey top coated all nails and then went in and hand filed the sides of each nail again. My question is wouldn't that then break the seal or protection of the top coat on the sides making it null and void, and making it so you don't have protection on the sides of your nails?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Рік тому +1

      With our products & application techniques, especially with the use of Protein Bond, if you file the edges, the product still remains bonded to the nail plate, so you don't have to worry about it breaking the seal.

    • @youngnailsinc

      You can clip them down and remove with an e-file or you could soak them off since our Fiber gel was used to adhere them and it is a soft gel.

      When you pre-design the nails, you need to make sure you are using colors/glitters that are somewhat translucent to let the light through. If you are uncertain if they are translucent enough, you can always mix an iridescent glitter to break up the color. This will allow the light through without changing the color.

      We haven't personally tried using the synergy gel to adhere the full cover tips yet except for our concealer bases which work great.
      If you were to use the synergy gel, just remember you won't be able to soak the tips off as synergy gel is hard gel and doesn't soak.

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  10 місяців тому +1

      it isn't. We have a top coat called Ultimate Finish. It's a hard gel top coat so it is a thicker top coat and it is also non-wipe.

    Tracy, how do you prep the tips before your client comes in if you don’t know what their nail sizes are? I hear you constantly preaching to pre season your sanding bands and nail files ahead of time for saving time. That’s golden advice! Do you do the same with the tips?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  2 роки тому

      When you have down time or an unexpected cancellation/change in your schedule, that's a good time to do all of those things. You can pre prep the whole box when you have time. This way they are all ready for when you need them.

    Do you normally go that fast or short on time? I noticed not all the shine was gone. Sometimes primer cracks the tips,so I only prime the natural nail. Not YN products . I haven't used full tips either. I get nervous working on fello nail techs. That was a really nice method and looked nice. Looking forward to the fill video.

    Can you do this method and then slick pour over the top?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  2 роки тому +1

      You can do that procedure, but keep in mind the only bond to the nail is the Fiber Gel. Using the Slick Pour over the top won't necessarily give the nail more strength and durability, but it will give the color. Also, using Slick Pour over a full coverage tip will add excess thickness, so be careful the nails don't get too thick and bulky.
