so glad I watched this video. my 20yr old daughter suffers depression and anxiety and is a huge nail bitter because of it. until I saw this video I make her wait for me to do a set of nails on her till her nail free edge is grown out.
Can you guys make a body ergonomics video? Like how to hold your body and their hands and get the very sides without contorting? Like beginner mistakes of body placement
I would love this!! I just started working as a nail tech after graduating school and find myself already conforming to the client as opposed to having them conform to me. Also, another good lesson for beginners would be how to really get clients to loosen up and stop trying to help you by moving their fingers how they think they should to "help you". Tracey touched on this briefly in this video but didn't have time to go into how to correct that as she was on a time crunch here. Lol. I had a lady really trying to "help" me wiggling her finger everywhere when I was trying to file, prep and apply gel polish on a natural nail and it made it take so much longer than necessary. I just couldn't get her to keep her fingers still and trust that I knew where and how I needed her finger to move. Lol!!
It’s so nice to see a set done on bitten nails!! It seems like most of my new clients lately come in with super bitten nails! Great job as always, Tracy!!
Tracy thank you so much for talking about perfection and trusting yourself 🧡 I have severe PTSD from decades of abuse and paralyzing perfectionism is something that I'm actively unlearning right now. It's a steep learning curve and it's painful and emotional, but it's so important. Especially in this industry. There's an elitist and ableist mentality in a lot of schools and companies that's done a lot of damage, and it's so vital that people hear that they can undo that 🖤
@@madisonanderson100 the clients I have don't mind that it takes me that long but I want to add new clients and I'm afraid they'll only come once because of how long it takes me. I'm working on not being a perfectionist but still putting out great nails.

I love this video! The way that Tracey handled the problem was a better education than if everything went perfectly! Inspiring! 🤩

Watching Tracy do this full set in less than an hour is INSANE! I did my own nails last night and was proud to finish 1 hand in and hour and a half! (and all I did was a fill with some basic nail art 🤣) I just started school in November of last year, and so far so good! Agree! I spend most of my time doing cuticle work. I have maybe 3 clients that come in with cuticles like the ones in this video. I would LOVE to see a real time video with thick, calloused, sticky cuticles.
I never do the manicure first I always push back the cuticles then apply the product. When I electric file after that it takes care a lot of the cuticles. I’m glad I watched this video because ever since I started using a protein bond or primer, my nails lift and pop off easily. So I bought the protein bond from YN because everyone swears by it. And I still had nails completely pop off within days. No matter if I did dip, gel, acrylic, or poly gel. So I stopped using primer altogether and now my nails stay on without fail.
