- A quick Review of Apple's New Polishing Cloth that came out with the New MacBooks. We do a wiping test to see if Apple's Cloth is Better than a Microfiber Cloth from Amazon and, shocker, it's not! It is incredibly soft though and has useful applications as it's ideal for expensive displays, tv's, jewelry, and glasses!

I think the difference is that Apple's cloth is for polishing, which is why they say to use 70% iso for dirty screens. The other one is a cleaning cloth that removes the grime but cant polish the light scratches like a polishing cloth.

The Cloth in Jewelry Store has a Chemically Treated Inner Cloth for Polishing. It should not be used for Cleaning Phones as it is Highly Abrasive even for Metals like Gold and Silver. 😬
I have been using my old underwear to clean mac and iPad screens for the last four years and I am yet to see the so called micro abrasions….😂😂

Home Depot's own brand of microfiber cloth is awesome. Its large and grippy and I use it to clean my LG OLED tv and it leaves no scratches or abrasions. The best part? You get 6 1x1 ft cloths for roughly $10.

I guarantee you that those freebie clothes that come with your glasses created tons of scratches all over your screen that will become more prevalent over time.

I am cleaning my iPad with the apple microfiber they INCLUDED in my old MacBook in 2008! if they are not gonna include it in new MacBooks, at least they should sell it for a ducking decent price. Aliexpress has very good options for it. That said, I will stick to that style of microfibers for cleaning aluminium, but cheaper ones. Apple's price is ridiculous --as always--.
Pray that they do not release a revised polishing cloth with extra RAM embedded inside of it. Otherwise, it will then cost $220.00.

I didn’t notice any difference when cleaning the iPhone screen, but I noticed a huge difference when cleaning the MacBook screen. It definitely cleans way easier than a regular cloth. Is it worth the price? I don’t think so.
People make jokes about the Apple cloth, but they don't understand that not all cloths are the same. I test many cloths and just one made for photo camera lens don't leave scratches on my CDs/DVDs/BluRays and gadgets, now I want try the Apple.
I think people are more turned off by the actual price of the cloth rather than the quality of it.

Don't actually use alcohol on all devices. Some screens have oleophobic coatings that will come off when using alcohol. Apple was only talking about their devices.
Micro-abrasions on a glass screen are extremely difficult to occur from a decent microfiber cloth. The excuses people make to purchase an overpriced Apple product are ridiculous.
It's not just a glass! there are some layers on the display.
Now we comparing microfiber cloths.... they all work. All of em. For all the years before us not one person has complained about these cloths

I bought it, (samsung phone user &apple mac retina macbook user) so no fan bnboy comment. Here's my usage review:
Feel and box:Good quality.
Cleaning: takes smudges off easily, however deep marks not so good however it does state to use alcohol at 70 percent. (What and where the h*ll do I find that??) Should have come with it or sold it at the least. Those in Apple are idiots. They don't have a scooby when it comes to advice. Half of the time, before this came out, was told not to clean my screen as it will damage it. But hey that's my take on it. Hope it helps.
I won a $25 apple gift card with nothing to spend on it or afford with it except this cloth. I'll probably use it on this apple cloth.
Honestly not a bad purchase with a gift card. I’ve enjoyed using mine and it’s holding up well.

Call me a sheep but this Apple cloth is worth every penny because no matter how carefully I clean my eyeglasses with traditional cloths, I always end up with irritating scratchy vision after a few months.
You probably don't wash them. I can't imagine any reason it would be better.
People will buy anything Apple branded. Apple could have a bottle of water and sell it for 10 dollars each and people would buy it.
The margin on these must be close to $19. That’s bad form to charge $20. 10 should come in a pack for $20 and they would still have a 50% margin. In addition, they should be included with any of their products that have a screen.
I could see these being good to clean Sony G Master lenses (& similar from Cannon, Nikon, etc) & my HD progressive lenses. Definitely not needed for phones, iPads, etc and they don’t look big enough to clean the new large OLED TV screens.
If you use apple you already like to waste money. So this makes sense.

I dont understand people buy a $1k plus product but are complaining about a $20 quality polishing cloth? You dont take a lambo to a drive through car wash and if you do maybe you shouldn’t have bought one. Point is you invested in a product with a ridiculous price tag might as well protect your investment the best possible way. The argument isn’t if the cloth is quality it’s oh it’s too pricey I can use a cheap free cloth my prescription glasses comes with 🫠 which by the way is not recommended for things like oled panels. Weird backwards way of thinking smh
