I've seen a lot of reviews on screen protectors. I saw one on Astro pad wear like a professional artist said it got really damaged after 2 months. But he says all his screen protectors only last about 2 to 3 months. Because he's drawing like 8 hours a day. I find that true as well. My screen protectors only last like 3 months even like the Astro pad one. I don't know how yours managed to survive a year. Maybe you just don't press very hard. Some people just press harder
@@VincitDesignCo yeah I just ordered this like still hasn't come but I don't draw 8 hours a day but I'm working towards becoming a professional artist one day.
I have the Astropad on my iPad Pro 2018. Love it. Love the metal tip that comes with it. I just put an Adeway matte screen on my Surface Pro 8. Love it to. Always hated drawing on glass. The Adeway does not have a metal tip with but still very close to the Astropad for me.
I've had my paperlike on for five years with everyday use and I've experienced no bubbling at all. It's not an issue if you apply it correctly, and i think they include two sheets so you have another shot if you mess up the first time. The astropad seems like a great option for those who struggle with the application or want to swap between a matte and glossy screen often 👍 Personally, I draw on my ipad constantly so i would prefer a protector that's always in place and has no risk of coming loose. Did you experience any accidental shifting of the astropad while you worked with it? Have you tried it with the magic keyboard? Ty for the video!
I'd been using Paperlike for a long time as well, as I draw extremely often for work, and it's nice they give you two, but would be a big waste to mess up the first one to have to try with the second one. And I didn't really have any issue with applying the astropad, but even if you mess the alignment up, you can quickly take it off and stick it back on! Thanks for watching!
Great video ima go try out this screen protector i’ve been using a tech armor one, but i feel it’s not as papery as i want it to be. Thanks as well for the screen cleaner rec I’ll def try it out as well expecially for my monitor. also love for the left handed i want more left handed content creators (especially to help with left vs right hand issues in drawing or other creation)
Thanks a lot for this review. Would be useful to mention which version of Paperlike you are using, cause they have gotten better over time I think. Is this version 2.1?
I actually do feel like the Astropad has more of a paper + pencil feel. But I'm sure it will wear down after a while, similar to how the Paperlike functions.
They're both matte so they both impact screen clarity (I'd say equally) - the benefit of Astropad is that you can just remove it when you are not drawing or writing.
I‘m biased, but these removable screen protectors are more of a gimmick. After removing them a couple of times they’ll get scratched on the back and collect dust… that’s why I’d go for a Paperlike instead. While you’re at it, try out PenTips‘ PenMat 2, I suspect they buy off the shelf from the same white-label supplier.
I think for ease of use, the Astropad is great, and since it's only sticking via the magnets on the sides, you can clean the back of it if you wish. Haven't had any issues with removing and reattaching so far. I think PaperLike is a great product, but the main problem I have is the intensity you need to get it applied correctly, and if you don't, you can't try again. The system of needing to stick little tape down on the sides of your ipad and on the table is just too much of a hassle, when there needs to be a more succinct and attractive way to apply the screen, similar to how I've seen some recent phone screen protectors operate.
But Pen Tips is really expensive for what you get, $60 for a removable screen protector is just nuts, when Rock Papel Pencil offers the same for $44 with two nibs. I supported PenTips when they started, a second time with the PenTips 2 and third with a bundle. The PenTip 2 lasted for ONE day, just after 2 hours it was gone, so hard to invest on something that expensive of blindy give them a chance. Now that the rant is over, if you develop a magnetic Paperlike I would get it right away, as I like your products and actually have been getting a bunch lately (glove, grips 1 and grips 2, and will get one of your folios soon).
I mean both are great, and I actually have affiliate links for both, I just prefer Astropad overall. But Paperlike is still a great option for many people. Not a liar. :)

The Paperlike was generally alright for about a year, although I wasn't drawing for up to 8 hours a day, so it was a gradual decline overtime.

Nice! Good to know.

Hope you enjoy testing it out!
Whoa when you said “subscribe” the sub button glowed and had rainbow round it!!
That's pretty cool! Didn't even know that.
I’m definitely intrigued now 👀 Hadn’t heard of AstroPad before this video
I saw somebody talk about it on Instagram and had to give it a go! Definitely love it. Super easy to install.

I have whatever version came out in the last 2 years.
What happened to the test of the pentip?
I honestly didn't see any difference so didn't feel like I needed to add it.
Which has more resistance while writing? In other words which one feels more like paper and pencil?

Great video
Glad you enjoyed it!
but does it come with a case for the protector when you take it off? plus your videos have helped a lot in my arts lately so thanks ♥
There's a sleeve you can put it back in! It's not a hard case, but it'll do!
Thank you for this video, but you didn’t comment on how you like the tips from the Astro pad.
I mentioned I don't see a very big significant difference.
Which paperlike is best in terms of maintaining screen clarity?
Hey there, for me, the Astropad has the better screen clarity.
They're both matte so they both impact screen clarity (I'd say equally) - the benefit of Astropad is that you can just remove it when you are not drawing or writing.
Yep!

@@VincitDesignCo I get you. We’re working on a next-gen application process. 👌

Woosh is better than Eveo.
Never heard of it.
Lol, of course the produce that has his affiliate link is the one he thinks is better. What a lier. Do better man.
