I think the reason most people think washing off the gel wouldn't work is because stuff like Jell-o and cheese just turn to goop when you get them wet and without you saying and now proving you can just wash it off I would probably assume that too since I have zero hands-on experience with the stuff. very impressive but I would suggest using dowel pins which are solid steel instead of being hollow like roll pins, this would add a little weight and likely make the pins travel farther through the target. This would make a perfect self defense round, you get expansion and fragmentation while also getting the right amount of penetration without too much over-penetration. I can see this being a commercially made shell.

The advantage of hollow pins would probably be great for soft tissue, because the pins act like an apple core remover. It would be an interesting test to see. Solid pins would probably be great for bear hunting or for situations where solid objects are present. i. e. Skulls, doors, etc..

Given that I'm from Britain, I'm not big on guns, especially in the hands of the average Joe, as you may know, gun laws in Britain are very strict. Only certain police officers can carry a firearm and farmers who must be licenced and may only use them in areas set out by the government. I actually enjoyed watching your videos. This is the 2nd one I've watched now. It's nice that you are not just shooting for the sake of shooting. There is an art that is involved in your content which draws in enthusiasts and non-enthusiasts. And having the outside community sending you their products of their imagination for you to test and communicate with your audience is very educational.

Copper thermite would make an excellent 'booster mix' for your little gremlin rounds.
Makes a bright blue-green flash, lots of orange smoke (copper vapor).
The stuff is insensitive to impact and friction, so on paper it would be a bit safer than harvesting material from fireworks.
