I'm not sure, mate... Lamb od God's tone is actually fucking sick! Another example would be All Shall Perish's guitar tone in The price of existence album...
@@adambomb138 I used to say the same thing because I have big hands too. But Adams showed me you can make it work lol. He makes it work and it doesn’t look uncomfortable.
always had a lot of respect for them as guitarist. they always say that they make mistakes when playing and learn from it. great band who respect there fans .
I have heard and played quite a bit of metal guitar in my day.. but these guys.. they have such a unique sound.. it’s so deep and heavy but yet they put it all together in such a way that is rather melodic and actually beautiful... love their guitar playing.. the musics always pretty kick ass..
yep, back when metalcore was actually listenable. Just every kid gets on the scene now and goes "I can 0101010100011011101" and that's a new song... great. Then you have some bands actually trying to be creative like The Arusha Accord or Plini, or even Polyphia etc... I guess metalcore these days is metal for the masses, it's the metal equivalent of pop.
The“adam dutkiewicz price is right” * def an incredibly awesome guy and just so cool to watch him win round after round and then the showcase in the end!!!
I am 30 years old and have been playing over a decade and like to believe I can tear it up myself, and I swear I have never watched a guitar video as many times as this one.. something about these 2 dudes riffing together is beautiful really.. its so heavy and deep, low, but virtually anything they have ever put together just has this melody to it.. they harmonize one another brilliantly and it just sounds,...... too damn good.. I’m off for my mission of learning everything they have ever put out.. but it’ll never be that same by yourself.. for sure..lol.. only these 2?guys can do this melodic metal they have going on so diversely. Hope they do it till their hands won’t let them anymore.
I remember hearing this demo before the album came out and knew that music was about to change for the better AOJB is one of my favorite albums of all time and their riffs are so good that I had to learn them to rethink my songwriting structure! I sent my demo to Roadrunner and they liked it! Nothing ever happened cause of the band breaking up. But I shit you not that I had heard some of my riffs on later albums from roadrunner by different artists it’s just crazy!!!
One of my all favorite tracks from Killswitch. Aggressive, heavy, and just over all great song. The opening track from for Alive or Just Breathing like what an awesome start. Followed by Self Revolution then it just gets better through all the whole album. But this track is one of my favorites off of the album.
Agreed, it’s actually the first track for any run I do! Great tempo, plenty of aggression - probably the last real album (CD) I bought with the sole intention of supporting musicians I admired!
yea, I miss you guys too (just like I miss metallica) Keep it fun and it will reflect on your fans. when im sad, I want to listen to a happy good time song, when ime mad...same thing, when im happy, same.
Joel and adam used to idk if they still do play the game “pinch drunk love” live where they pinch harmonic at eachother in the midst of songs. Its pretty f’n awesome to catch
adam plays drums? please stay on guitar. not cause your drumming was bad, but because your guitar is so fucking awesome. any time you here an adam, joel riff. you know it. they have such a unique sound. keep up the amazing work guys. fan for life
PSMTCHEF Theyve been with caparison for quite some time. Adam had a short phase of weakness when he played parker guitars for a year or so haha but now they are back to their senses
I can’t get the link in here but google: “adam dutkiewicz price is right” * def an incredibly awesome guy and just so cool to watch him win round after round and then the showcase in the end!!!
Unfortunately i ended my GW Subscription before these guys arrived on the scene. I really enjoyed the magazine and artist covers and interviews but once they put Good Charlotte on their cover with the heading, 'learn how to play punk," i puked in my mouth and called it quits with GW for that nonsense. Glad to see they eventually gave talented musician like KSE the recognition and admiration they deserve.
The guitar tone they have always has been better than most metal bands in my opinion.
agreed ! KSE is a living walking breathing legend of a group ! no other group comes close imo
Hell yes.
Classic 90’s melodeath sound. 🤘 Today it’s all about as little gain as possible, close to no bottom-end and too much mids.
I'm not sure, mate... Lamb od God's tone is actually fucking sick!
Another example would be All Shall Perish's guitar tone in The price of existence album...
Lamb of god too
Both guitarists are legendary.. I love their groove.
Killswitch engage has always been the pinnacle of metalcore for me, And this patricular album is all time best proof of that.
Adam D's picking hand is so solid
Joels prob way more tight
Adam always looks like he needs a bigger guitar. His big ol' hands always look so cramped up lol.
@@adambomb138 I used to say the same thing because I have big hands too. But Adams showed me you can make it work lol. He makes it work and it doesn’t look uncomfortable.

that's real metalcore for ya kids ;)
Goran Brezak Not Black gay brides or pierce the veil!Kse fathers of netalcore!!!!There are few good ones too(BFMV,ATR,AA....).
Marko Petkov ATR is more melodic death metal honestly
Goran Brezak don't forget early Trivium :-)
only early?
russell2937 no. they're pop/punk mixed with metalcore. Easycore is term I believe. nothing death metal about ADTR.
I miss those days!!! Thank you for playing this
That days is numbered
When Howard was there
the intro/ verse riff is seriously one of the heaviest things ever written!!
I can't resist headbanging every time I hear it.
I sometimes forget just how off-the-wall the structure of this song is. Great stuff.
psyniac definitely one of my favourites in all of metal... even including all the mad other shit a listen to... so good!
What structure? This is the good old days. 25 riffs in one song lol
PSMTCHEF the way it should be
I have heard and played quite a bit of metal guitar in my day.. but these guys.. they have such a unique sound.. it’s so deep and heavy but yet they put it all together in such a way that is rather melodic and actually beautiful... love their guitar playing.. the musics always pretty kick ass..
My thoughts exactly
those guitars are fuckin beautiful
Agreed
back when metalcore had actual riffs instead of constant breakdowns and djenting. Very few newer bands actually "riff" anymore.
So true. Lately when I hear new bands I'm immediately bored. It's all the same djent bullshit. I miss the old school metalcore riffs with melody.
Same. Old school metalcore and deathcore are the best

kings of metalcore
Tariq Chaos absolutely. undisputed kings.
No
Always bro!
Killswitch is my absolute favorite band. Loved AOJB just as much as Incarnate. We need more of these play throughs Guitar World!!!
Yes please!!!
Adam D is the one guy who always wears shorts and pizza cap but still looks metal
The“adam dutkiewicz price is right”

Devin Sinclair well said dude
Fantastic duo, although I'd also say Morton & Adler have a video or two shredding through riffs without backing tracks.. mesmerizing stuff.
Love these guys, hope there's more of these videos coming!
Them pinch harmonics 😍😍😍
Will always love these guys! They really revived metal back in those early days when bands like Staind and Deftones were around.
Hey, Deftones are a great band and still popular
Gosh I love these guys. They seem like awesome people in person.
I like how they didn’t film Joel during his bridge riff and how the guitar Audio is like 30ms behind the track. Come on guitar world.
They always skip the hardest part of the song!
I know this comment is 2 years old but I was thinking the exact same
Phenomenal tone - freaks really, how good they are - def a fan to the end!!!
They could do their whole discography this way!!!! It's been too long since they put out an official live concert
GANDALF WILL RISE! to power...
POTATOES FALL! to dust...
you cannot unhear this lol
I thought it was gay toffs when I first heard this as a kid lol. FYI a toff is a rich, upper class arsehole here in England.
Hahahahah
I am so mad right now lol scrolling thru comments and when I seen this it was at the part of the play thru and I read it and can't unhear this 😁
Wow! did not think I'd see a play through of a song as old as this but I love it keep them coming!!!
i see Adam's back on the caparison!
That's his sig model
That tone !!!

Two of my guitar hero's. Great stuff.
Best killswitch engage album ever!

Followed by Self Revolution then it just gets better through all the whole album. But this track is one of my favorites off of the album.
"Slop through a couple songs" - Plays flawlessly.
One of my favorite song and album of Killswitch
Love this song!
BEST SONG OF THEM EVER *for me
Agreed, it’s actually the first track for any run I do! Great tempo, plenty of aggression - probably the last real album (CD) I bought with the sole intention of supporting musicians I admired!
What about a just barely breathing playthrough?... That would be sick!😈
+kbleskate I'd love a live album of AOJB with the current live up, tbh. Relive when metalcore was still fresh.
There was an entire tour like that a couple years ago lol with the current lineup and all.
FUCK YES. need more of them. literally anything will be good. can really tell they enjoy playing this song. love them
Some of the guitar parts sounds like in flames 🔥
Their playthroughs are always so fucking clean! Gods amongst men
Pls upload moar videos of them playing, this is my favourite band
more more more, love killswitch
Those guitars are sick! And their tone is on point! One of the times the celestion vintage 30 is actually good in.
Ahhh KSWE!! Fn old school Numbered Days. Best album. Nothing after compared ImO Down since the early days!! Great vid.
Live Wire best albums were the first self titled and AOJB
1:03 Joel goes for the pinch harmonic... “wait crap this is the album version runthrough”
Wow - great eye (and ear man) true fan right there!!!
Love that album.
2019, NOV. Adam still good !
The beginning riffs are hypnotizing
About to leave to see these guys in Cleveland!
As far as I'm concerned, this is the defining Killswitch song.
Still legends in my eyes.. Adam is a beast..
I love playthrought ! I always learn a lot with them! Too bad there is no playthrough for every song they made! ahah
Probably my favorite song by them
Thanks for that guys.
yea, I miss you guys too
(just like I miss metallica) Keep it fun and it will reflect on your fans. when im sad, I want to listen to a happy good time song, when ime mad...same thing, when im happy, same.
Obra prima, os melhores guitarristas de metalcore de todos os tempos. sem dúvidas❤
luv it
Joel and adam used to idk if they still do play the game “pinch drunk love” live where they pinch harmonic at eachother in the midst of songs. Its pretty f’n awesome to catch
How are dead set hardcore sound can be made to sound so beautiful in parts is just mental.
potatoes fall..... to dust.... falllllll
Love how Adam D always dresses like he's on vacation
Awesome! =)
Very good!
I'm dying to learn that solo
Thanks for focusing on Adam through the middle 8 in stead of on Joel. I would have never understood such a complex pattern without it 🙄
YES!
If you're a metalhead and you don't know this song.. I feel sorry for you lol
VapourXY *this album
That riff at 2:55 sounds a little like the walking dead
+Osmar Garcia Kinda...Not quite.
+Osmar Garcia It really does!
I don't know much about that show but that's probably my favorite riff in the song.
+I Kiss Girls it kinda does
Kind of! But this song came way before the walking dead started, so probably no intended correlation
I love Adam (my cape wearing brother): "all those braincells are dead by now" : )
how could you dislike this?!
“When Joel does that cool middle thing, focus on Adam’s rhythm playing”
-Director to camera guy (probably)
Literally my thought ugh
those caparison's are so sick
2:35 That chorus and riff! Ho-ly SHIT!!
adam plays drums? please stay on guitar. not cause your drumming was bad, but because your guitar is so fucking awesome. any time you here an adam, joel riff. you know it. they have such a unique sound. keep up the amazing work guys. fan for life
His drumming wasn't bad
How big are Adams hands??? Steve vai watch out!
2:54 - That's the riff!
The walking dead theme??
Great
Can you get Mike to do the bass playthrough?
Awesome. The tone is PHAT as well.
Fire
Adam D, the One Man Band.
Suprised they didnt change pickups, amps, and guitar companies mid lesson.... Just KIDDING love these guys and this track.
PSMTCHEF
Theyve been with caparison for quite some time. Adam had a short phase of weakness when he played parker guitars for a year or so haha but now they are back to their senses
Nice pizza hat bro, ever heard of pizza skateboards?
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
They always have an amazing sound. Anyone know what they're using by any chance?
Pretty sure guitar world did a rig rundown with them somewhere on their channel, just use the search bar
It sounds like Adams guitar is louder than Joel's.
They are just very skilled players, these two are one of the tightest duos in the game.
Way back when I heard this shit for the first time. It was like getting blasted in the chest by a cannon.
"...There's two of me there..." Adam d makes me laugh every time
He’s a riot - I forgot he played all the drums too, man what a machine!!!
I'm not a a big fan of this band, but Adam always dress short pants still blows my mind (he's an amazing guitarist and inspiration, btw)
Joel is awesome
nice
play at 0.25 speed at the beginning made my day xD ps : adam is drunk and Joel is high :D XD
The size of Adam D's hands..god !
3:38 is hype
Sounds like Aftershock and Overcast. How bout a reunion?
who makes the guitars they're playing
Matt Elrod Caparison.
Joel lookin like dime
I can’t get the link in here but google: “adam dutkiewicz price is right”

What kind of guitars are those?
Caparison.
