    Brilliant work , This is the Best I have seen on the Fan repair when everyone else just replaced the motor rather then testing where the problem in the motor was ,
    Truly Brilliant work here.

    Blower fan update - after some investigation and impromptu amateur gymnastics (head stuffed into the passenger footwell with spine jangling postioning, as I was too lazy to disassemble the glovebox!) I ascertained it was the fan resistor that caused the problem. However, your blower fan removal 'how to' would have been my next step but fortunately the device fired back up and the vehicle is now usable. Thanks again for your useful demonstration, regards.

    Mine's just stopped working this evening. Brilliant video. I didn't have a clue where the motor was but having watched your video I'll definitely be taking it out and checking it over. Many thanks.

    This video was brilliant, so informative even telling you which size socket was required to remove the blower motor. He described exactly the same problem my Corsa was having. Intermittent working fan then failure. My Fan was not working at any speed. It turned out the armature needed a clean-up, like he suggested. But that only lasted 5 mins. took the fan out again and realised the brushes were sticking slightly in there brackets, a tiny tiny squirt with WD-40 let them slide inwards. Working fine now. Remember if your fan works on speed 4 only it's probably the fan resistor.

      good idea - this video is great but think I will try oiling the brush brackets first for a handy fix for now - my corsa d is 13 years old - if that doesnt work then a proper clean up as in this video

    Great video. For mine it turned out the resister (which is at the other end of the power lead tucked up underneath) had a pin that was black. I cleaned it up and now all is working fine. Still glad I followed your video as if I hadn't I would have just gave to my mechanic. Thank again!

    i habe the corsa e ( it is the same with D) the blower working fine but after 10-20 min ( i have to test it again to see how long it take till not working properly) it is not blowing. I hear the noise but the vent blow no air or a very little amount. Whats your opinion?

    • @LarcsWorkshop

      Could be a bearing going tight as it warms up? or worn brushes maybe? You could do with getting it out and having a look.

    Great video. Can I ask when it was sparking, was it hooked up to a power source or was you just tapping it unconnected. Also when cleaning it up with Emery paper was you just scrubbing the armiture in situ?

    • @LarcsWorkshop

    Could the fan not working properly cause a burning smell?, sometimes my heart won't start, but when it does there's a burning smell from it, would I be better off putting in a new fan?

    • @LarcsWorkshop
      @LarcsWorkshop  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah, it could. I wouldn't use it until you know what it is. If it's got really hot, you'll probably need to replace it. Good luck.

      I have seen them 'new' on eBay for around £40 so they could have fitted a new one. If you're worried, ask them for the receipt, it should have some sort of warranty if it was new too. Good luck.

    Hey mine wouldn't work at all I purchased a new heater blower resistor also cleaned the gunk off the motor so the copper shows and brushes but the fan will only go on level 3 and 4? And is it normall for that heat resistor to heat up please help me as vauxhall want like £250 for new motor I have a Corsa sxi 2012

    • @LarcsWorkshop
      @LarcsWorkshop  3 роки тому

      Hi, it sounds like you might have a wiring or switch issue if the motor and resistor are both ok? I think it is normal for the resistor to get a little bit warm, that's probably why they put it in the air duct to cool it. Good luck with the repair 👍.
      Cheers Larcs.
