I actually got balatro randomly gifted to me and this shit is harder than I thought, after watching NL for so long I thought I’d literally 1 shot ante 8 (2nd try I got to ante6) but I have a new found appreciation for the gameplay
First level stake is super easy too lol. NL's playing on the much much harder difficulties
I'm glad you've learned. He obviously makes some tremendously bad plays here and there but he's gotten a lot better and the game gets really fucking hard.
Just don't buy eternal master hand and you will be fine

vampire is anti-endless tech. pretty much impossible to go past anti 10 or 11 with vampire unless you have something like baron
Vampire is alright but you need mechanism to level up the hands you are playing

What challenges taught me and what NL seems to undervalue - planet cards. Planets are HUGE, they are super important to the overall consistency, and NL seems to pay too much attention to the jokers while ignoring planets, while they go hand in hand

Man, got to e18 score. Double baron, mime, dna, blueprint and brainstorm. And I could've gone much further, but ante 14 boss was a psychic, and I couldn't get the required score with 4 less slots for baron essentially. And there was no reroll boss voucher the entire run, so there was nothing I could've done

I got through my first Orange stake on a Spectral deck with the Celestial Joker - Hex Starter Card - Ankh Shop Card wombo combo after the first round
I had a run once where I got both -1 ante vouchers right at the start with space joker and it triggered 5 times in a row but then at ante 3 i just didnt draw the cards i needed to get and lost so it is a trap, it can only help you win more
Agreed. Playing on Nintendo switch is good, but it just doesn't have the same level of speed and freedom as the pc version.

They need a spectral that lets you delete eternal jokers or remove the eternal tag. It should be rare, but I think having that would allow for some cool plays.
