Morphagene - sample
Ooots - external output
no external processing
thanks for listening
I can't believe how many times I've gone back to this video.
The piano sounds so beautiful through Beads!
I just had to buy it :)
Glad to see Emilie eventually decided to keep the reverb :)
Bravo, Tom, pour cette belle exploration sonore. Et une formidable introduction de ce nouveau module de Mutable.
Thank you for this wonderful demonstration. And by the way: on the leaves is a moving, great and beautifully sad song!
Excellent demo! Great music too!
Great explanation! Love it!
That is amazing! My clouds died as soon as my morphegene arrived. So i can’t wait to get beads, and finally combine the match made in heaven!
thats was a very nice demo, thank you!
Got mine today, love it!
Sounds great!
I've been contemplating taking my 4u 104hp down to a 4u 62hp but was worried about a lack of modulation options after I stuff my morphagene and clouds (....or beads...) into it
this of course reminds me that both of these modules are still stellar even prior to any modulation
Beads has built in random modulation as well don't forget 🥦
This thing producing very rich sounds
what an awesome loop also
Great one
I found this honestly gorgeous. All of it.
Also this pairing jesus christ. Like two magnets finding each other.
I know. Morphagene is my dream module, but I need to build my foundations first. Started with Frames, Stages, Marbles, Blinds, and Links, with external Minibrute 2S and 0-Coast. Next is Beads and 1010 Bitbox Mk2. After that, Rings, Morphagene, and 4MS Ensemble Oscillator. Beads and Morphagene are both just amazing.
Oh man this looks so awesome and inspirational! Lovely sounds as well! ... I never really got to be friends with Clouds, but this feels like it fixes most of my issues with it!
Thanks! This is the way to make a demo.
Thanks Tom.
This is so great! I've been wanting to learn modular synth and I don't see many itty bitty racks.
Fantastic. Sound quality and recording time was my only gripe with clouds. Both being upgraded is great. That verb sounds awesome hopefully a bt less noisy than the last time. Real cool idea on the random attenuverters too. Instant buy.
Thanks... This really shows the beautiful possibilities.
Terrific!
6:25 I thought „hey, there is a circle in the artwork of Tides and Ripples that perfectly matches if they are put next to each other! What a great design!“ Then I realized it was a human hair.
oups
Sounds beautiful!
Just noticed that the attenuators actually do adjust the internal modulation when nothing is patched into the cv inputs… missed that in the documentation 🤩
I know Im not alone when I say this, Ive been eagerly waiting for the day I get on youtube and see a new Emilie Gillet module in my feed....and and find out that its the revamp of "Clouds"!
Great exploration Tom. This sounds great.
Wow!!!
great work tom! this module definitely has my attention.
thank you !
Happy to see that it's not a totally different module but a thorough yet subtle rework of Clouds. This as Clouds have been so sought after and an important part of many racks and our eurorack history, and even though you can get Clouds clones it's nice to be able to buy a real MI product and in this way support Emilie for her great work.
Things like the randomization is really cool and those sound quality selections seems much better, and to me it sounds in general like a sonically large improvement over Clouds. Am I right here?
I think it’s really different but they share the same goal and granular ambiance. The main update is in sound quality and playability !
@@tom_leclerc Like your demo btw, sounds really sweet. But that piano sample confuse me because in my computer it sounds like an acoustic guitar with some piano at the end.
This is lovely! Really great sounds.
Le son est limpide, clair et précis. J'attendais une réédition avec envie et impatience. L'univers mutable est tellement inspirant quand on à ces modules.... Merci pour ta vidéo. Merci à Émilie...
Great demo, thanks for sharing! Beads sounds very interesting :)
thanks ! And it is !!
oooooo. bought immediately to replace my monsoon in my tiny nebulae pico case. so handy to have modulation, random source and attenuation there, will make my backpack rack so much more playable. Thanks for sharing your video and demonstration.
Hi Tom, beautiful demo! Guess we are all mindblowed about finally meet Beads lol.
Beautiful sonic examples of what Beads can do. (Also love the little detail of the Kodama sitting on the box in the first minute or so , who doesn't love Miyazaki?)
👍🏼⛩
Incredibly beautiful demo!
Pure bliss!
That sounded just great! Bought.
great stuff, as always
Nice! What cases are you using? (the wooden end cheek ones I mean)
Looking forward to getting this and Blades to use with Rings and Marbles for perfect ambient rig,
You're going to love Blades, best filter I've ever used
@@kp8923 you’ve just stressed my wallet a bit more ! 😢 all good tho 🙂
awesome editing!
1 cut... 😬
4:41 great loop! and then a bit evolved at 4:59
Some very cool & usable tones going on here...
Thanks, this video sold me. Purchased. If I may ask, what cases are you using? Are those 4ms Pods with wood cheeks added on? Or something else?
that’s modulaire maritime cases
@@tom_leclerc love the design. thank you
omg please where is the first sample from 0:09
that’s a piano sample from my last album
Very nice, so this is the reinvention of Clouds? Which is awesome in my book. Another item on the shopping list that grows ever longer as my wallet empties. Some direct correlation there I fear lol. Thank you for the demo very inspirational.
May I ask if this module features the reverb algorithm of Clouds v.1, or any reverb at all actually?
it’s a new reverb algorithm !
@@tom_leclerc oh great! thnx
Sounds great. Is the ‘pitch’ quantized?
i have seen no indication of pitch quantization. really wish she had added it
@@viridian_calx I think that feeding this into Rings then to Marbles would be great since Marbles has a quantizer and more! The perfect trio I have been waiting for: Clouds v2 (Beads) + Rings + Marbles!
Looks much more interesting than Clouds, might have to get one
Out of topic but what is this output module?
that’s Ooots from knob farm
@@tom_leclerc thx!
Giving Divkid a run for his money!!
rings or elements into beads would sound so good...
don’t worry you are gonna see that done to shit in the next year lol
and it will be sound very good :)
Is this the first "Rings into Beads" video? ;)
haha not really (just samples) but soon !
Nice demo! Did you go over what the function of the seed button does?
seed is like the trigger of burst of grains
this is beautiful @tomleclerc !!! What size euroraock case is this. I have the same modules and want to take them off my full to make a compact setup but not sure what size ill need to fit these
44hp !
@@tom_leclerc thanks Tom looking forward to more minimal build vids :)!
Rings into beads!
this is a very beautiful demo, thanks ! :)
just wondering, where does the sample at 4:42 comes from ? so soothing !
thank you ! it's a Rings sample
@@tom_leclerc beautiful ! Beads seems like a wonderful module, I'll get it :)
Sounds Leagues better than Clouds. Ive tried Clouds in 3 versions & only rarely got something interesting out. But this one Emilie outdid herself
Clouds is sublime. This sounds great, too, but in a cleaner pristine sort of way. I ordered Beads, but not selling my original MI Clouds any time soon. I'm actually looking forward to patching them together.
00:05 Perfect Swan Song for Mutable Instruments.
It is really a nice sounding demo. But tbo. I can not really evaluate what the Beads is doing, because of the unknown, unheard and complex source sounds. I would like to hear a pure saw wave (easiest playing as you can) manipulated with Beads and all it's possibilities. So in this current stage the demo video doesn't help me, sorry. :-/
I understand, but I just doing music not technical specs
I already dared to hope that the age of rings into cloud video would soon come to an end ...
Hmm. This or Typhoon? probably this lol
I love MI modules but I only just got a Typhoon - it does have superparasites and VCAs in its favour. I'm sure I'll pick up a beads in the future though!
just got mine too :( feelsbad but they sound kinda similar
the pitch sounds way better than the old clouds version...
Seems a funny decision that this is designed to be more self-sufficient compared to Clouds. I guess kids don't like their modular to be too modular anymore.
Anyone else hear “all is full of love” by bjork?
I'm very surprised to see that the highest quality is still just 16 bit, 48khz. Especially for something intended to time stretch and granulate sounds, I would really hope for a higher sample rate, and I'm generally very hesitant to run a sexy all-analog audio signal through a 16 bit processor. I mean, I get that it must be an artistic decision, but a higher quality ADC was one of my main hopes from the new model. I mean, obviously still have to get one, but it may not be an easy choice between Beads, Morphagene or Arbhar.
already a dislike? who dislikes this?!
🤷🏽♂️
It's the dislike gremlins.... start the day with a bottle of vodka, curse at the world the whole day and then go on a YT dislike rampage..... repeat the next day......There's no pleasing everyone haha!
Someone who just bought a secondhand Clouds and payed to much?
Someone who are not into eurorack and expected more traditional music?
Someone who expected and wanted a totally different module than Clouds. Like something that can pull rabbits out of hats or show the way to Narnia?
I always dislike the videos I REALLY LIKE.
Someone who's sick of the gratuitously 'organic' tech-on-wood-next-to-brand-new-succulent aesthetic?
Wow!
