  • Installation instructions for the RHOX 6" Lift Kit (LIFT-002) on a Yamaha G16. The same lift kit works on Yamaha models G14-G20 (95-02); however, some steps may vary. Some lifted gas carts may require a longer choke cable (CBL-052). See your RHOX dealer for details.

      @@ryangarrett6204 I would take a look at the rest of the steering components on the cart to see if anything is worn (i.e. shocks, steering rack etc.). Make sure the steering rack is centered so you have equal play on both sides. Also, confirm the toe and camber settings are correct and the cart levels out when a load is applied (passengers or cargo).

    I appreciate the video. I have the exact same golf cart that I got for $600 locally. Cart had been sitting for some time. Brought it home, cleaned it up some. Took a grinder to the frame and painted it with some POR-15. My brother-in-law sells batteries for a living so he hooked me up with some new batteries. Noticed I have some vibrations and after watching your video, realized that the king pins are slam wore out. So I will order a kit to get them squared away and also pick up this lift kit. I'll have a really nice cart when all is said and done for less than half of what most folks have in theirs. If you happen to see this comment, I'd like to know what wheel/tire combo you have, they look great. Thanks again.

      @@GolfCartInstructions I just got the lift kit installed this past week and my wheels came yesterday. The rear is higher than the front by a few inches, it appears. I don't have a rear seat on my cart and even with me (235 lbs) and my daughter (130 lbs), it's not going down much. I don't like the idea of cutting the rear bracket down. Would I be able to replace the rear shocks with shorter ones to get the rear down? With my cart being a 96, I don't see these shocks settling much more than they are now. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the lift. Thanks

    • @GolfCartInstructions
      @GolfCartInstructions  2 роки тому

      It really depends on the condition of your current springs and shocks. Normally carts that old will need replacements but they could have been changed before you picked up the cart. If you think the rear is sagging when under load (with passengers or cargo) you could replace them. This lift kit is designed with worn components in mind too so it will sit slighter higher in the rear to accommodate for the sag. On some carts, it will sit higher when under load so they will cut down the rear lift bracket by about an inch.

    I have a gas cart and live in a hilly area. It seems that the engine is tilted so much with the 6' lift that if the crankcase is completely full of oil, then oil seems to get sucked up into the air box, then engine starts smoking while running, and losing power.

    Just did the Lift-002 on a G16. Why is the back end almost 3" higher than the front? The front end is positive or negative camber. This is moving from the suggested 3rd to the forth hole.

    • @GolfCartInstructions
      @GolfCartInstructions  2 роки тому +1

      It is higher in the rear to compensate for worn suspensions. This can level out when a load is applied to the golf cart. If it is still an issue, users will trim the square tubing on the u-bracket. You will want slightly positive camber when you are finished aligning the cart. Older carts tend to have more of a negative camber setting from the factory. Other worn suspension parts or bent frames can also play into this as well. You will have to play with the settings and use which is best for your cart.

    ok so when i did this with one hand it wasn't just me that had issues getting the drop a-arms to fit. because i only have use of one hand what i did was hook a ratchet strap to the frame ran the strap through the A-arm and to the back of the frame and just went to town ratcheting and it pulled it open enough to pop in place. I just figured I bent my frame, which I guess didn't help my installation on top of working with one hand
    for the back since i have an 02 G16 and was doing a full rebuild anyway, I took the body of the benefits of that is no need to squeeze in the tight area to get to the stock shock bolts and when i did the swaybar bracket the hole in the body wasnt an issue because i just put the body on top of the bolthead one less bolt to have to take off when i take the body off going forwards

    • @GolfCartInstructions
      @GolfCartInstructions  3 роки тому

      @@MCscarfacematt The drop bracket will help align the rear. Yamahas don't have a true solid frame like most other carts. The connecting rod helps keep the two sides of the 'frame' parallel for lack of a better word. When the cart gets lifted, the geometry of the rear shifts. That triangular bracket will put the geometry back to where it should be.
