I ordered one of those draw tite garbage front hitches from Amazon. Supposedly a Reese hitch. The box it came in was three times too big for the hitch both in length and diameter so by the time it got here it was all chipped up since they didn't think it was necessary to put any type of packaging inside the box. Box was destroyed as well of course with a heavy hitch in it. Went to go and mount it on my Ram 3500 and none of the bottom bolt holes mashed up to my stock locations like it should have. The welds look like I did them so they all looked like third grader boogers. I ended up just taking all the measurements of the materials off of it and welded my own up. It looks much better and actually fits. Made in Mexico. When I call the manufacturer to discuss if they wanted to compensate me for my time to repaint with a rattle can and re-drill the holes out a little bit they said sorry we can't help you on anything like that so they got to eat the two-way shipping through Amazon and The review that they deserved.
Recommend locktite on those bolts… If you are gonna winch off it, you should use a pulley system and hook the other end on another point that’s not the hitch…
You don't need to remove front bumper. Just loosen the bumper bolts so you can slide the bolts and flat washers though that opening. That also keeps you from having to enlarge the second opening.
ETrailer is the retailer / reseller, not the manufacturer... Draw-Tite is not necessarily the actual manufacturer either since it is not uncommon for companies to do the design and then have dedicated shops in foreign countries do the actual manufacturing of the product... Nothing inherently wrong with that -- it's just part of the global economy these days... From what I've read, some of the Draw-Tite products are manufactured in Mexico... Even if it was manufactured in *China* that would not be an issue (from a quality standpoint) as long as the Draw-Tite is diligent in their quality control and ensuring that the overseas subcontractors meet the design specifications.... You really have to keep on top of things when you are working with Chinese manufacturers though since they will try to cut corners as much as possible to increase their profit... If "Made in USA" is important to you, then you might want to consider someone other than Draw-Tite... Just remember though, it's possible to get crap products built in the USA and quality products that are built overseas.... That is why your company's quality control and keeping on top of sub-contractors is so important...
Curious what year is the E-Series motorhome? I have a 2023 E450 class C and etrailer doesn’t have a front hitch for me. Did you just enter a older model year to find that hitch?
Honestly, in 12 years of UA-cam viewership..you've got the best video intro animation I have ever seen. The head popping off bit is hilarious. Ya. :D
Thanks. Welcome to my crazy world.
Good stuff, I’ve always ran a front hitch on my trucks. 😎👍🏼👍🏼
That's awesome! I'm considering putting one on all my vehicles... well maybe not my wife's car lol
Need one of these on my RV just in case I need a tug out of a slippery situation.
Better to have it and not need it than to not have not and need it.
