I like photography birds, and have felt need to get longer lens to reach those birds or wildlife. What I thought about sigma 150-600mm lens but you have talked about prime lens. I do understand the prime lens does provide quality images. What do you suggest? The other thing, I have been thinking is gimbal for my tripod and to set it on the ground, get low.

    Great video as always. But it seems cumbersome to only use the mouse. You really should take your time once in a while to learn shortcuts and get it a happit to use them. I promise you it will fasten the workflow. Have one hand on the mouse and the other ready at the keyboard. It will also, I believe, free up a little brain processor time to the creative part the brain :)
    I especially noticed the many many times you click Done after each setting instead of pressing Enter - Do that with you right hand as it is right next to the Enter key. Also you did a right click to find the cumbersomely found the "Paste from previous" when there is a big button for that in the buttom right - as I think of it I don't know the shortcut for that :)

    I have never touched up bird's eyes or any eyes before, will try next time. Just wonder what editing functions you often used at the beginning to determine if a picture is good to keep. Typically I would play with sharpness, denoise, dehaze, contrast and vary light/dark to quickly see if further editing could provide acceptable result. What else would the professional do to their photos?

    • @BayouJosh
      @BayouJosh  2 роки тому

      Great question. I must admit, I only pay super close attention to images I really feel good about. The noise slider is a big one for me. sharpness is usually made in the camera and lens (technique). if I try and sharpen a blurry image in post it typically means I'm sharpening blurry pixels. Noise however can be mitigated or introduced in post with little problem. I'll pull noise out of the backgrounds and put it back into the subject to get detail back. I think I do highlight this in one of my first 2 or three videos.

    Im terrible sorry for the question, but what do you do with whole of this beautiful photos? I mean - is it hobby? Or for a living?

      @BayouJosh  2 роки тому +1

      Just a hobby. I post them on UA-cam and Instagram. that is about it.

    You don't like the editing ? That is the part where you get to see your "catch"

      I can certainly take it or leave it. It would be nice if I just took the pictures and handed it off to someone else. even more so with video. so time consuming.

    If you don't mind me asking, where can I get the camo gloves please. I've been to REI and Dicks but couldn't find one. Thank you.

    Do you typically shoot that huge 600 f/4 wide open?

    • @BayouJosh
      @BayouJosh  2 роки тому

      Yes. mostly. it is very sharp at f/4.

    Really interested in the preset in LR you developed for noise.Any chance you can share the settings? I make my own presets for a lot of things but haven't come up with one for noise that seems to help much.

    • @BayouJosh
      @BayouJosh  2 роки тому

      I only focus on the noise when it’s an image I want to keep and it has more than ISO 1600. I use a select subject mask. I invert the mask so it only focuses on the background. Then I raise the noise bar to the right. You can go back to my most recent Lightroom video that was posted a couple of weeks ago and it walks through that technique.

      Idaho! Some of the older footage was from Louisiana.

    As suggested, let's sit down Josh and review some images! You never use tools like DXO Pure Raw in your workflow? (if that's called work, you are right...)

    • @BayouJosh
      @BayouJosh  2 роки тому +2

      I really don’t have use for those other programs. I don’t sell images and I don’t see this as a job. It’s simply a hobby. If I like an image and I want to spend a little more time on it and print it for myself, I may export it into another program but that rarely ever happens.
