Here you are another video about one of the new 2016 GT3-class race cars: the BMW M6 GT3 which will replace the old noisy and beloved BMW Z4 GT3. The M6 GT3 is powered by a 4.4-litre twin turbo V8 engine which is able to produce 580 hp.
In this video you can see and hear the one of the BMW Team Italia in action on track during a test day.

Love the sounds it makes on the downshifts... it was a very distinct sounds at the Nurburgring 24h. You could tell the M6 GT3 was coming around the corner just by the sound...

At first I didn't like the way the new M6 sounds, with the quiet turbo, but the growls and snarls and BASS off throttle have won me over. One of the most unique sounding cars I've ever witnessed. Even at Sebring in big packs of other cars the sound of the exhaust as soon as the driver lifts off the gas is unmistakable and stands out over the sounds of every other car on the track.
I already miss that V8 Z4 sound :'( Though this car looks really cool

@@alexyanez7963 I agree with Alex. I was at the Indianapolis motor speedway track and watching different gt3 cars practice for the fanatec world challenge and this m6 is actually loud af and the burbles under downshift are THUNDEROUS

I think I'm one of few who genuinely like the sound of the M3 GT3 (And GTLMs by extension), and find it's actual engine note quite unique.
+FormulaChris085 I initially thought it was going to sound closely to the McLaren mp4 or 650 gt3 but it doesnt. I like it :) A raw mix of sounds
Sean McCormack Yeah, me too. The road version sounds a bit like the McLarens due to the equal lenght intake manifolds and stuff. But the gt3 car ended up sounding like a flat 4 engine.

Gonna miss the Z4 V8 now. Glad I got to hear them last year at Road America.
The reason it sort of sounds like an inline 4 is because
1, the exhaust manifolds are inside the V of the block, where the intake would normally be
2, BMW does a cross over header design which makes the exhaust pulse interval 180-180-180-180
3, It uses true dual straight pipes, the production model uses x-pipe, which is why it sounds more like a v8.
Then why does the M6 roadcar benefit so much from an custom X pipe??
Stock M6 roadcar also sounds like a 4 cylinder.. add X pipe and you get more of the V8 growl

4awid BMW have sacrificed the agility in chicane to have the massive power on the straight line in M6 GT3, and it does work , M6 nearly dominates the straight line in all GT3 category now

You do a great job of editing the videos so you follow a complete lap of the car. How would it look without the fade between each camera angle? Just flip to the next camera like the do on tv. It might feel more like a broadcast of a race. Just a thought.

+Pay Day Pirelli World Challenge allows GT3 cars as well as IMSA allowing GT3 cars in the GTD class.

PWC is not exclusively GT3, but I know they do allow (and i think the top class is mostly) GT3 cars. As far as the IMSA Weathertech series is concerned, GTD is basically the "lowest" class in the race so they don't get the most coverage but it's usually pretty fair.
There is also a German series that I often forget about called ADAC GT Masters that allows GT3 cars.
Also to answer your question, Blancpain is apparently racing this weekend.
There are some GT3 cars that are exclusive to PWC and ADAC also. Like, a GT3 Cadillac and Acura for PWC. And ADAC GT Masters has the only GT3 Corvettes. I couldn't tell you why they are built only for some series but they are for some reason.

If you listen closely, you can hear the turbo flutter when the pilot start to brake. It is a 4.4 liter twin turbo V8.

armorgeddon even the Bentley continental GT3 is better. The best sounds from this I probably 0:41-0:46, still horrible.
