Agreed, Nick. So funny you just posted this video - ONE WEEK ago I brought up to my friend how (I couldn’t believe I was saying this) but I now prefer H20 to H 2018. 2018 gets so many things right that H20 doesn’t (score, atmosphere, the mask…) but I never really liked 2018’s take on Laurie 40 years later. It felt too gimmicky unlike Laurie in H20 as the headmistress of a school trying to live a new life- that felt right for her character. H20 has a ton of crap wrong with it- but I feel more compelled to revisit it as a sequel to H1 and H2.
The truth? JLC should have earned a Razzie and the story was a warmed over turd sandwich. James Jude Courtney and Christopher Nelson saved that movie. And no shame, RZ H2 theatrical cut is, flaws and all heads and shoulders above anything DGG put out. But I disagree it was the best thing for the franchise. Like The Force Awakens, it made a mint on member berries but by the end of the trilogy the entire thing hit a brick wall. Ends was at least profitable, but the IP is essentially spent.
It’s not lazy at all, there just isn’t much to do within the confines of slashers because they are 1 dimensional characters, Halloween 2018 gets everything that was great abt the first film right
Yes, but that's the point. It's easy as fans and such to call foul, but we're not the ones with the risk here. Star Wars, Halloween, etc, all started safe because they had 2 main missions to accomplish: make money and pull in new fans. It's that simple. That's what needs to happen with restarting IP because long time fandom doesn't equal bucks, so they hedge their bets on something familiar to keep fans happy, but accessable enough new fans join, thus longevity. And frankly fandoms these days are hard to please.

H2O had four different masks and the stupid guy who played Myers never even watched the movies It was his own interpretation Which is why it sucked It’s like saying Halloween four is great except for the mask The mask and the movement is what makes Michael Myers I personally like Rob zombies Halloween, and I don’t mind the directors cut of H2 Love them or hate them at least he was smart enough to get the original mask They always acted like they couldn’t re-create something that cost three dollars It’s ridiculous
You completely missed the barn with this one Nick. For starters, saying H20 is better because of the sibling angle, makes no sense whatsoever. By that logic, the sequels are better than the original. The sibling angle is precisely why 2018 is leagues better, there's not supposed to be a reason or "any weight" to Laurie vs Michael. I dont see how a sequel that goes agaisnt the point of the original, can somehow be better at least narrative wise, than a story that keeps the original intact. That said, ive decided to unsubscribe today. Unfortunately, your "normie" comment, wreaks of gatekeeper energy and i thought you were against that behavior but apparently not.
Holy shit. What an overreaction. Not only do I take issue with the incredibly false statement of my content, I also stated I PREFER the sibling angle. Not that it was “better”. Why is subjectivity such a hard concept for some on the internet to grasp? I make the content I’m passionate about. Look through my catalogue. Look at what I started my channel doing, over a decade ago. Halloween. It’s my number one passion. Always has been. Always will be. I am constantly thinking of Halloween material to do, because it’s why I started my channel in the first place. You can accuse me of a lot of things, but you are WAY out of bounds with both of the statements you made. And I’ve got the decades long receipts to prove it. Take care

Halloween 2018 had potential but bringing back Jamie Lee was a terrible move there was no point of doing a direct sequel with her because they would have to have a fight and it was lazy and forced to bring them together in 2018 and making her Sarah Connor rip off was a garbage move still it has some good kills myers is awesome production wise it’s maybe the best Halloween but the writing and humour drag it down still it’s the best of the trilogy by default it has the least problems it’s a star movie
@@seansheridan123 I see what you mean, but I think it was the right decision at the time for the series
Halloween 🎃 2018 Michael Myers had a way better mask then H20 mask and James Jude Courtney is a Amazing Michael Myers !! The Score of The Blumhouse trilogy with John Carpenter is really good !! I didn’t care for the portrayal of Myers in H20 your right it is a retread of Halloween H20 and Halloween 4 the Return of Michael Myers I think what Halloween H20 Halloween 4 and Halloween 🎃 2018 have in common at least to me is they all retreads of the Original Halloween 🎃 and ignored what came before it I like Halloween 🎃 2018 better only cause it’s First Halloween 🎃 Movie 🍿 I experience in a movie 🍿 theater that’s cool man that you like H20 better i also like Kills and Ends better then Halloween 🎃 2018 was to me at least pretty much a remake of the original Halloween 🎃 followed familiar beats I can admit that Halloween H20 had better final act then Halloween 🎃 2018 I just didn’t care for Myers Mask in H20 and seeing his eyes loved the video Nick !! You’re the man buddy !!
@@TroyGrubbJr thanks man! I love your passion! I hope you’re well!
@@TheLostRiverDriveIn thank you bud hope you are doing good also and love your passion too man
H2O had four different masks and the stupid guy who played Myers never even watched the movies
It was his own interpretation
Which is why it sucked
It’s like saying Halloween four is great except for the mask
The mask and the movement is what makes Michael Myers
I personally like Rob zombies Halloween, and I don’t mind the directors cut of H2
Love them or hate them at least he was smart enough to get the original mask
They always acted like they couldn’t re-create something that cost three dollars
It’s ridiculous
@@jasonaugustine3370 there’s a lot wrong with H20. I don’t LOVE either film. But the JLC performance in H20 is an all timer
You completely missed the barn with this one Nick.
For starters, saying H20 is better because of the sibling angle, makes no sense whatsoever.
By that logic, the sequels are better than the original.
The sibling angle is precisely why 2018 is leagues better,
there's not supposed to be a reason or "any weight" to Laurie vs Michael.
I dont see how a sequel that goes agaisnt the point of the original,
can somehow be better at least narrative wise, than a story that keeps the original intact.
That said, ive decided to unsubscribe today.
Unfortunately, your "normie" comment, wreaks of gatekeeper energy
and i thought you were against that behavior but apparently not.
Take care
It made Michael Myers famous beyond famous. Gotta love H218 for that. Recognition.
They aways got 2 fuck it up with the 3rd
And without Jamie Lee Curtis there is no Neve Campbell, love Neve or hate Neve.
@@kotobukiya70 I love Neve
@@TheLostRiverDriveIn I love Jamie Lee Curtis
@@TheLostRiverDriveIn You may love Neve but I’m just going to say it. Every Scream sequel with her from Scream 7 onwards is going to be safe and predictable as a motherfucker!!!! I’m more than likely going to feel the same way about Scream 7 as you do Halloween 2018.
2018 is your least favorite but you love the WORST Rob Zombie Halloween movie of all time? Yeah that makes a lot of sense. Halloween 2018 is Citizen Kane compared to Rob Zombie’s Halloween II.
@@kotobukiya70 it’s my least favorite? That’s weird. Pretty sure I never said that lol. I said of the newest trilogy. I prefer 2018 to Rob’s remake.
Imagine people having their own opinions. What kind of world is this?
@@richardstange5939 I bet if somebody said the Dark Knight sucked compared to Batman and Robin you’d change that tune real fast!!! I did suck by the way. Oh and FYI, it’s called the internet so you can expect these kinds of reactions almost all the time. How old are you, 5?
