I definitely love the 65, my old man had one but it was navy blue and i wish i had till this day to keep as an heirloom because it was his workhorse daily driver to work and going fishing. I miss Ole Blu!!!!
Good job guys I love watching old truck coming back to life again I wish we can do the same with people we lost nice video thanks for sharing video with us
My first truck was a 65 GMC short bed stepside back in 2000 and I was an idiot to let it go. Now 20 years later got my hands on a 66 C-10 short bed step side that I'm never letting go. Love the 60-66 GM pick up line
You lucked out like a mo-fo on that freeze plug. You got the old girl running and sounding good!Keep it stock (okay, maybe a set of swap meet Cragars),get it safe and drive the hell out of her!Good job!
If you lift it it will probably go down in value, and youre gonna have to spend more money on it that could go towards rust repair and possibly an engine rebuild. I really think you found a real survivor truck there.
Check the old truck out. Most of the farm trucks were fitted with posi-track from the factory (different gear lube). That's why they would push mud so well. I had a '65 short/narrow w/ power glide and posi. I got it from a kid who blew-up the 235 and had it towed to his uncles farm where it sat for a couple years. I told him if he could come up with a title I'd give him $100.00 and he bit. It was a couple of weeks until he showed up with the title. We made the transfer I had an extra vehicle. Had a freeze plug rust out...if one goes just give in and replace all. While the engine is out and you are replacing things, do that rear main seal as well...be a big $avings in the end. I bought the old truck in '80 or '81.
I had a double canary yellow 65 C20. It originally had a 6 235 in it but the gentleman's wife that I bought it from was selling it for him as he had passed away. It still runs around town but it is gloss black now but still runs a 383 Stroker that he built for it. It ran and still runs great. I sure miss it though!! Forgot to mention that it was a custom with the big back window and chrome custom badges.
I had one like this. It was a rust bucket, but ran good. However I noticed that if I over revved it , trying to go more then 55, it would blow oil everywhere. Under 55, it didn't burn a drop.
I just bought a 1966 chevy truck like this one here last week in San Antonio Tx. Has a 283, 3 on the tree, with power brakes and steering. The gas tank had a rusted through water line about half way up. Of course the gas lines were clogged and the fuel pump, points and coil were faulty. It had been sitting since 2002. Used a jerry can for a tank and new fuel pump, coil and points. Runs great 77,000 ORIGINAL miles. I am now set. My 5 year girl will get this one. My 6 year boy gets a 51 dually /235 STRAIT 6. I will be retiring my 07 silverado classic 6.6l for a 47 chevy 2 ton 5 speed/2 speeed rear end with a 5.9 p-pump. See where I'm going with all this???No more effin computers. Fixit with a screw driver and a ball peen hammer. Now I just need to fIx the wife, maybe a 68 camaro or chevelle. She drives a puke of a mercedes and a porsche cayenne. WHEREAS BOTH HAVE LEFT HER STRANDED AT LEAST 2 TIMES each! lol (not kidding).
Leave it stock to show its history! Such a car deserves respect for its duty it did during the day. They are already rare and look on it from adistance, just pure car history
......Would you interested in buying a shit load of old Chevy Trucks? 55,56,58 and 59 Cameo's 4 or 5 Panel Trucks and 5 57, 58,59 Chevy Napco's? I just parterned with someone that has a collection SOOOOooo huge, nevered offered them for sale, and now wants to sell all of them! One Lot! Close to 50 trucks like those...lots of short beds, thats why he wants to sell them all to one person, many creams and of bunch of basic 55, 56, 57,58,and 59's Chevy Trucks! So let me know if your interested by leaving my channel a message or a comment and hit you back! I'm being VERY SERIOUS! Chris Haskell out!
Needs the accelerator pump in the carb fixed but it runs sweet awsume truck brother yall be safe tell everyone ol tig says hey and send my love to the family
Slim , but possibly a 194 , had one that came out of a 65 pickup that was rear ended , put in place of the 230 that was in my 66 Chevelle that had thrown a rod .
older engines like this can take overheating tons better than the newer cars with aluminum heads. guess you shaved a bit off the old clutch lining. lol
# great i still got my opel frontera 1995 2.2 litre ecotech engine 4 cylinders petrol, top speed 175 kmph, built by general morors, assemble by gm, electonic n electrical , ecu by holland , gearbox, brake system, absorbers by isuzu japan !
Thanks for the video. Please consider purchasing a new camera or a microphone to pin to your shirt. We can barely hear you when the wind isn't blowing into your microphone.
Paid $1700.00 for mine brand new back in '65. Fine truck but was notorious for shift linkage binding up if you had three on a tree. Wish I kept it though. Out here in Phoenix they are everyplace, unrestored, still working hard. Please don't customize it.
Finally someone thinks like me I think these trucks are low enough stock then need a good lifted stance anywhere from three to six inches would look great
Should have changed the oil as well at good be revving that thing that high and that all old oil in the pan that just ant good for it but love to buy or have that truck but wouldn't ever lift please no that would ruin that truck
Doesn't get any better than this folks, thanks for sharing and great work you guys
Them old 6 cylinders have a lovely sound.
Its a 250 6 have got a 65 original
I can't believe how good of shape it's in. Killer find guys.
My first (17yrs) was 66 long bed fleet side 235 6cly single barrel carb, comfortable ride and fit a young man's 6'4" chassis, great find....54yrs now
mongomay1 wouldn't have been a 235 my man. It would be anywhere from a 230, 250 or a 292.
I definitely love the 65, my old man had one but it was navy blue and i wish i had till this day to keep as an heirloom because it was his workhorse daily driver to work and going fishing. I miss Ole Blu!!!!

That's a nice truck- lots of possibilities!

That's sweet old truck. Definitely worth saving.
Damn I would love that truck

Leave like it is. Certainly will not diminish the value and it has such a wonderful patina.
Love them old inline 6s
If you lift it it will probably go down in value, and youre gonna have to spend more money on it that could go towards rust repair and possibly an engine rebuild. I really think you found a real survivor truck there.
I Agree
I would love to have that old truck ! It reminds me of my dads old chevy .
Love these types of video's. Thx for posting.
I wouldn’t change the height at all. Looks perfect as it is!
What a great barn find
It did sounds great..... Awesome old truck for sure.
That was so cool, love the style of that truck really cool.
I had two 65 fleet sides.. 292 ci. You only need a 7/16, 1/2, 9/16, one Phillips and one strait edge screw drivers to rebuild the entire truck.

In 1965 it would have been a 235, 250, or 292 if it’s the original motor. Great find guys!!!
That’s such a sweet truck.
Great show you guys ,awesome keep up the great work I enjoy everything you do 😄
You guys are awesome ! I am so jealous... I wish I was there !
Yes, she is perfect the way she is . Just clean her up, fix the little odds and ends. Beautiful truck

She's gorgeous just like that. Just needs a bath.
Awesome find!

I wouldn't lift it. I would just leave it as is, and make sure it's running well.

it looks like a 292 i6. famous for being found in john deere tractor's, massey combines, also white fork lifts
That truck is a real survivor!! DON'T CHOP IT UP OR RAISE IT, PLEASE!! It's beautiful the way it is. It deserves to be fixed up and driven.
Don't lift it keep it as is
I Agree
Love them trucks
Good to see
Bit of coughing and backfiring
But she sounded good once warmed up a bit
Awesome video guys
Leave it stock for God's sake! It's worth more that way. Just the way it sits. It would bring about 4000 dollars out here in the west. A real servivor
Or more in the NorthEast! I see rustier trucks from the 80s and 90s all over the place on the road
Leave it stock to show its history! Such a car deserves respect for its duty it did during the day. They are already rare and look on it from adistance, just pure car history

Typically I'd say lift and build the hell outta an old truck, but this ones all there, do a frame up restore to it, including the old straight 6!
Awesome find for Michigan man mine is in way worse shape Haha and it looks like a 292 l6

Finally someone thinks like me I think these trucks are low enough stock then need a good lifted stance anywhere from three to six inches would look great

Not a 235. Too new for that. Probably a 230. Doesn't look like a 292
Yes, 230's came out in 1963 or 64. 292 was available, too.
250 came out sometime around there
@@brenthall7399 '66
