Some say keeps elbows out some say in, its so confusing. do they all go to different college
Listen to jaycutler he has his elbows flare
Listen to your body, flaring out hurts for most people and causes decreased performance
I was keeping outside so it given me shoulder injury now I am doing inside all is fine and increased weight capability as well
Moderate weight, arms creating a 90 degree angle, elbows slightly out works best for me. If I tuck my elbows, I only feel it in my front delt and triceps. I have very long arms and wide shoulders, so if I tuck my elbows it messes up the bar path, causing the bar to touch at my nipple as opposed to mid chest or clavicle (this is for incline bench, I don’t even touch flat) That’s why guys with shorter arms are phenomenal pressers, it’s such a fluid movement for them and they don’t have to worry about bar path because their arms aren’t long enough to create a bar path discrepancy.
now I know why I feel uneasy if I tuck in my elbows too much. I too have fairly long arms. thanks
Is it okay to go all the way down with this movement? As I see many people stop around 3/4 of the way and some say it may prevent shoulder injury
@johnrogers3967can you explain it in other words?
Also , make a video about greasing the groove .
Good man , always straight to the point
Trust your body and do what feels right. I flared out and over time injured my AC joint
wow that video appeared after I got a shoulder injury from that specific excercise , what a coincidence
tried this and feels like im working out nothing but forearms
You mean stack the joints. The mistake here, is those shorts.
Arnold holds the barbell very wide .. I think that position feels more comfortable as well
Godbless you Andrew, new SUBSCRIBER, I really like your channel, more power 🔋 💪.
Jhon Cena
Perfect instructions 👍
Its called breaking the bar to properly stack* your elbows under the bar.
Jay needs to get a bag for this, amazing acting!! Jidions improv was also so on point just a great video really outdoing yourselves everytime!!
Thanks ❤
I do this constantly but can’t stop
Maybe thats why i'm in pain since yesterday 😂
Damn i was doing it wrong at the gym today
The same logic as push ups.
Elbows in wide stance. Best of both worlds.
Stacked position!
Is this a good rule of thumb for all chest pressing exercises like flat DB press?
Its not a mistake it activates upper chest even morr
My left triceps hurt this way
Grip width 😂
Thanks
Your grip should be 1.5x shoulder width otherwise it would be tricep dominant bp
Exactly
if you are triceps dominant it is the best grip for you else you should increase the width
The way I teach people to bench and do push ups is to think how you would push someone away from you?
You wouldn't flare out the elbows like a crucifix and you wouldn't have your arms tucked in like a rock'em sock'em robot.
Elbows out midway. Open up the body, arms straight and shove.

WHAT!! about tricep exercise on bench press?🙄
What about chest press ?shall we keep same position of elbow?
Same with the push ups too kings
I've made this mistake !
powerlifters hate this video
Is, is that the scout?
Thats good
Why do people say you should lower it to the nipples and other people say you should lower right below the neck?
Facts
JUST SKIP BARBELL PRESS DO DUMBELLS.
Hello sir
Shoulder joint pain problem in gym
Is it okay to go all the way down with this movement? As I see many people stop around 3/4 of the way and some say it may prevent shoulder injury
Ain’t no rep if it doesn’t touch the chest
Why was delta bolic removed ?
What if you press in a v direction
A home guy teaching tricep bench press 😂😂
Donnie Yen
Compare this to the opinion of the "iron guru" Vince Gironda on bench press and dips. Than look at Gironda's track record and decide
Are u that buff jeweller
Can’t flare your elbows if your grips wide enough
I keep my hands slightly inward toward my shoulder to get more pec activation.
ماءشاالله عاشت ديك يارب يحفظك آمين 😄😍😍😍😍😍💪💙👍👌👏👏👏👏
Just use wider grip
Wrong
You mean 45
delta bolic to andrew kwong nice
very good
That’s too close of a grip
Nice back.
👍👌
HOT Stud !
Try to bend the bar to avoid arms flaring out
ua-cam.com/video/u6lcrx8Lhjc/v-deo.html
Is it the same concept with dumbbells?
Yes it is, keep your arms at 45 degrees
very nice thighs, I want mine to look like that.... I shall make it happen
I've worked out for 45years and never heard this or had any shoulder injuries! I'd need to hear some experts weigh in on this topic!!
