    just fell in love with wood working a year back and i have gotten in a habit of watching you-tube wood working videos just to try and see what i can copy and do differently in my country (Uganda in East Africa) with no power tools but hand saws and hummer, but thank god i landed on videos by you Ana i can do a lot more not so sophisticated things thand still look more beautiful. pliz post up some things you have done using pallets

      A hand held circular saw would be a simple tool so creating a small jig to allow you to cross cut with a mitre is import and would be worth researching.

    I'm curious if you only used a single 2" screw in those braces to attach to your wall?
    So after looking at the plans on your site, you did use two screws.
    apparently it's "tricky" to do the top screw behind the cross brace, just FYI people.

    Looks great. A few questions. won't the stuff fall off in transit? Do you have latches on the doors to stop them from opening and is the trailer balanced ? Caravans have to be balanced when you pack them so how does that differ from a tiny house? enjoying the build of your tiny house. If you going to use it for job sites will the tools be packed in the truck?

    • @AnaWhiteDIY
      @AnaWhiteDIY  8 років тому

      Hi Craig! Thank you! Yes, in transit we will have to move everything off the shelves, but we don't plan on frequent moves. Since our tiny house is designed to be seldom moved (one day every couple of years) we will level when in place, but good point on the balancing. We do have a storage shed on the tiny house for some tools, but bigger stuff like tablesaws and miter saws will have to be transported in the truck bed.

    Ana, do you think I could use the same measurements for the shelves and braces if I were installing in a master closet? I'd like to just place baskets or fold clothes on them but unsure of the weight with the braces put together with glue and staples. What do you think? The shelves would run about 11 ft long, maybe a brace every foot?

    The whole place looks amazing! My only concern would be while pulling it to where yall are going is you would have to take all that stuff down every time you move it so they don't fall off and break? Is that concern or did you already have that taken care of as far as have boxes ready to pack in each time? Where as cabinets with door that could be locked closed would save you a few steps. But it is beautiful! Do you have to have a special permit to move it on the road or is considered a camper as sorts? Thank you for all yall do, love your Fb page, and weekly email and video!

    • @AnaWhiteDIY
      @AnaWhiteDIY  8 років тому +1

      Thank you! That's a great point. We will have to move everything off the shelf when moving, but since we don't plan to travel often in it, willing to do the extra work here and there. The cabinets with the door lock is a great idea for frequent traveling. We are oversize width wise for Alaska, by a couple of inches on the roof overhangs, so have to get a permit to move - but its just a $40 fee and simple to get. Not a big deal once a year, but wouldn't make sense for more regular travel.
