She didn't just write a song during her recovery, she wrote her whole 6th album 💜 Delta - she was 18yo, actress and singer and went through Hodgkins lymphoma. She has been through a lot
So glad you got around to this story. I've recommended her song "Heavy" before, definitely check it out. For a young Delta (what her voice sounded back then), one of her first massive hits back in 2002 when she was just 18 was "Born to Try". And for something totally different, an Australian indie rock band from the 80s called The Church, check out their song "Under The Milky Way". I think you'll like it.
The guy in the booth with the beard, Matthew Copley, is Delta's band Guitarist, her Boyfriend since 2017, & now.... in 2024 - her Fiance' ! :) It couldn't happen to a nicer couple xox
So inspirational. I think we sometimes look for help in the wrong ways...albeit alcohol, medications, food etc. But our real strength lies within ourselves. Bless you Saeed for sharing your story with us. Love your channel and your feedback.
For sure, it is often the easy way or quickest way.. we think, but then it ends up being the long and hard way. Thanks so much and have a wonderful day.
The line “I’ve been on the inside for so long” gets me every time. I’m really happy you reacted to this, it gives you a new appreciation for the song when you know the story. ❤ Her voice changes a little, some words she sounds like her nose is a little blocked. I guess she has to produce the sound differently now. She still sounds amazing though. Listen to “no not me not I” from her. I love how you associate the songs to life. ❤
I think you should listen to Heavy ,one of my favourites, and think you would really like it.loving your channel, and your reaction.well done for improving your life ,or thoughts .its not easy .xx

i woke up after having brain surgery on an aneurism and i forgot words, no where as bad as Delta but so frustrating, even now 2 years later i forget simple everyday words which drives me crazy. Congrats on 2 and half years sober saeed, you are such a shining light.
The period of covid just reminded me, you haven't reacted to James Blunt yet. He's a fantastic singer songwriter and the official music video for his song "The Greatest" was a nod to all the health workers during covid. It really hit me in the feels while watching it during lockdown.
Calcification is certainly associated with long term survivors of Hodgkins lymphoma (which Delta had as a young woman)- this is often seen in the intrathoracic lymph nodes (those in the throat eg thyroid, salivary). So it’s likely related.

Definitely a heavy story, but one that inspires. Will explore more. Just recorded a reaction to Wings.
@@SaeedReacts.Wings is a great song, good choice! Super catchy that one.
Thank you for reacting to this story. Her story is inspirational! Delta is a strong and positive person.
I love the song!
So inspiring!

Glad that Delta shared this video. Delta is a survivor. You are too. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
She really is a survivor. Thank you so much for watching and have a wonderful day. ❤️
First thing gorgeous. Congrats on your sober journey

She’s had a few health battles over her career and come on top. She is such a phenomenal artist
Heavy story, but very inspiring how she pulled through.

Delta getting married to her partner (her guitarist)
Its why important to give people lientas we never no what others are going throught
Always we all have a different journey's in life
Some of us need to hit rock bottom to appreciate life again
Unfortunately others can't make it
So Always be happy with what ever happening in your life at anytime
When down we need to keep our perspective in life that things will change
Also to reach out to others for help if you need it as everyone gets down
But the only difference is the journey some need to go lower then other's
Before they can recover
But this won't happen until the individual's put in the effort to help themselves
As in the end no matter how much family and friends want to help it still needs the individual's to fight
A part of that fight is forgiveness of yourself as we've done things not proud of and why we are there in first place
Also need to realise not everyone can forgive or forget things we've done and thats fine because it their journey
But it doesn't mean we dont forgive ourselves and have to remember we've changed and not that person anymore
Because we've learnt our life path lessons that life has thrown at us
I always say its never a mistake as long as we learn from it to become a better individual's in life
But a life lesson's we needed to learn from
The thing about this clip of delta struggle i get from this is human nature fighting to exist
Other part of her recovered is to realise to enjoy your life as others have it worse
Heeping perspective of ones selve
Never think the struggles are over as its always there waiting for a slip up and it will happen if we loose perspective
Besides we moving on to the next lesson life is going to throw our way weather good or bad it doesn't matter
Life moves on and so do we andcwith every lesson life gets easier as we have more life experiences to draw from
Cheers mate your doing well enjoy life no matter what happens 🦘🇦🇺👍
Beautifully said. Thank you for taking the time to write this. This is exactly how i feel and try to live my life now. Take care, my friend.
@@SaeedReacts. you to mate your getting the rewards for all your hard work life sent you
The thing is we like look after and protect others
But life teaches us if we don't look after ourselves emotionally we can't look after the one's we love
Just keep doing what you love and in your heart as we tend to push that a side yet it's the most important thing
Stay safe mate enjoy your kids and hopefully on good terms with other half as they travel it with us to a point
The beautiful thing about the clip is it shows doesn't matter who we are or famous
Nature in the end will level us as we are all the same regardless race sex cultures
We all come from the one human races and all have the same floored biology
So enjoy it as life but a speck in the big sceam of things
Everything in the universe will keep moving on well after us just like it did well beforehand 🦘🇦🇺👍

She had a calcified saliva gland. Not sure if it was connected to cancer or not. She had cancer at 18 and she is in her 30s now
Oh thanks for letting me know. Did not know that.
She turns 40 this year
@@sandyproctor4901 no she can't be. She was 18 just yesterday! Dam I'm old
