Girl I'm making this in the morning Thank you for perfect measurements, I'm a simple girl.i don't know anything about those Metric system, I know spoons cups for measurement so you will be my cooking friend forever ❤️ 💯💯💯💯💯
I am so excited that you will be cooking this pound cake! It is delicious! Let me know how it turns out! If you love this one, go check out my bread pudding video. It is one of my all time favorite desserts! SO EASY!
I haven't tried Paula's pound cake recipe but I did try one of her gooey butter cake recipe three times and all those three times came out perfectly every time! I did make a pound cake for recent Christmas 2023 but it was from another recipe that my grandmother shared with (I think found on the internet) & it was great! Maybe I should try Paula Deen's version!
@@charlsiepecoraro For your KitchenAid, you might want to invest in one of those scraper paddle attachments. It's a life saver for pound cakes & even cheesecakes! And I will definitely give this recipe a try!
I love the way sour cream helps the cake be moist but I always get a bitter taste at the very end of a bite. I always wonder if others who eat the cake get that slight bitter taste also ❤
Hello @ginabr and thank you for the comment. I have not noticed a bitter after taste however it could just be me. I tend to love things that are more savory than sweet. Hopefully other bakers can come up with a solution. Meanwhile I'll do a google search and see if there is more intel out on the web. Thanks for cooking with me!
WooHoo! My gut was telling me it was the baking soda and a quick search confirmed that. Here is a solution: (Use of baking soda while baking or making cake, makes the cake taste bitter due to the formation of Sodium carbonate during heating. Hence, to neutralize the formed sodium carbonate and its bitter taste, we use tartaric acid.(Cream of tartar) As an acid tartaric acid neutralizes the base effect of Sodium bicarbonate.) I am going to try using cream of tartar since the sour cream should react well to it. Thanks for reaching out!
Good morning, Shelly! My bundt pan is a 10" and is 4" deep. I think I'll make one for the holiday weekend with you! Reach out if you have any other questions! Happy Baking!
To make it a lemon pound cake can you substitute some of the flour for a small box of Jello Lemon Pudding, lemon extract & lemon zest in a Bundt pan & how long to bake?
Oh yum! That sounds like a great idea! I assume you would still need to bake it for an hour and 20 minutes, however I'd check it using a toothpick after an hour.
Hi MT! I have never tried this as cupcakes, oh yummy! I would suggest that you start checking them after 30 minutes of bake time. Use a toothpick and if it comes out clean they are ready!. In my snail-pace oven, it would probably take at least 45 minutes! Let me know how they turn out! 🧁
Of course, here you go! Ingredients needed: ~ 2 sticks of butter, softened NOT melted ~ 3 cups of granulated sugar ~ 1 cup of sour cream ~ 3 cups of all purpose flour, sifted ~ 1/2 tsp of baking soda ~ 6 large eggs ~ 1 tsp Vanilla extract Preheat over to 350, bake for one hour and 20 minutes. Prepare bundt or loaf pan, greasing & flouring it prior to adding the batter.
I just made this cake. It is really good! I did add the zest of 1 very large lemon, and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice thanks for the goodie. 👍
