What the heck happened??? The cake is delicious and moist but didn’t do the icing…I’m still recovering from the SHOCK. Make sure your pans are deep enough 3-4” deep with aluminum sheet underneath… Could have been a disastrous MESS…..😅

You're absolutely right, the recipe does call for 2 cups of sugar. I know it might sound like a lot, but surprisingly, the frosting turns out moderately sweet and well-balanced. If you'd prefer, you can definitely try reducing it to 3/4 cup-it should still work nicely!
Adding coffee in it enhances the chocolate flavor and if you add a little, you can't really taste it. But I'm pretty sure you can leave it out if you don't want to

Eggs helps the cake to be moist, and fluffy. If you change this recipe the result may not be the same. You can look at other recipes that are eggless. I've seen a lot of people use apple sauce as an alternative for eggs in cake recipes 😊

U should of really used 1 baking pan, an then spend less time in kitchen, i mean everyone dont have multiple pans , everyone dont know how much batter goes per pan, its therefore better using 1 baking pan then u know u not using extra batter in one pan and less in other pan, this happens wen using multiple pans an now u wil clean all your baking pans
You can always reduce the sugar …this is the recipe I use all the time because the cake is so moist and delicious and I only use a cup and a half. So good

I don't put anything under my baking paper and don't have a problem. If you scrunch it up first, it fits the tins much better.

Sugar adds up to the moisture. Cocoa powder tends to dry cake. Chill 😅
