@JamieFenn that really depends on the place you live in. But for most parts, lights 5 what makes good looks expensive. And unfortunately, that is what will make or break your footage in a lot of cases. Your key light is 800+ euros. An amateur does not have that kind of money.
Jamie, you're a genius! Your ability to explain complex matters so clearly and concisely is truly impressive. Thank you for your always insightful explanations.
Just make sure to nail white balance. And even select white balance in the color correction process with a white card in post 🙏🏼 that will get skin tones pretty spot on.
Hey Jamie what can I say a master at work. Great video breaking it all down into steps. good work. Just wondering do you give any classes on resolve? again thanks
Editors …there is a shot were a word stay the same while the rest of the paragraph changes..im kind of new …can somebody help me out?i cant find nothing on YT…Thanks in advance
Hey man, First of all, greetings from France and keep on and thx for all your good tips. Now, I really really hope I won't shock, or be felt as rude or patronizing or that shit I reaaaally don't want to involve here, but though I'm into VFX compositing primarily but also grading (which is near when you don't own a huge studio hehehe ? :) ), I'd like to tell you here my 2 cts opinion : the clip was "better looking" at 7:31 than at 7:34 ;), sorry... ;) At least, it's a better start for further grading, but what you did is too lifted and contrasted, and at the end of the day while it's ok overall, you may not suggest that way to a random follower and stuff, see ? Again, I hope it won't be taken as a bragger comment, and anyway thx for all your inputs and tips :)
That stopped being cheap real quick
Hahah kind of
Right?😂
You can apply the same techniques I showed in this video with natural lighting as well.
That was my first thought after he came up with "look, how easy you can make your sound better" and puts a 400€ mic on the table. 😀

@@JamieFennthe use of filters indoors is a great idea.Never thought about it. I need to dig the tiffen filter a bit more for the skin tones

I was impressed with your videos Master I want to be a very big editor with Davinchi Resolve
Awesome Jamie 👍
Thanks 👍
You know he's tired when changing the light doesn't make his eyes bags go away 😅
Awesome 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Q: What's causing the artifacts on the wall behind you? Are you exporting Resolve -> youtube preset?
I don’t know. I may have to re upload 🤦🏻♂️
@@JamieFenn what are your export settings?
What they’ve always been. UA-cam compressed the shit out of this video for some reason
Hey Jamie what can I say a master at work. Great video breaking it all down into steps. good work. Just wondering do you give any classes on resolve? again thanks
No classes but my entire channel has a lot of information. Is there anything specific you want to know?
Thank you! What Color temperature are you useing for the left fill light? Also 5500k?
In this video, yes 5500K. Another tip is to make the key light warmer, and background cooler. Just to create more color separation. :)
@@JamieFenn thank you for this fast answer and the Tipp ☺️👌
You’re welcome 🙏🏼
Can u make a video on if we r shooting with mobile camera?
You can apply the same exact techniques in this video
@@JamieFenn ok, thanks bro 😇
Do you use both filters on top of each other?
Yep. I stack them!
@@JamieFenn That's cool! I didn't think this would work because I assumed it wouldn't work technically or because of the look. Thanks for your reply
Of course!

Hi I don't know about the rec709 or.log
thing. How to find them on my phone (oneplusn8t or iphone 14), or GoPro hero 6 black ?
it probably doesnt support those video files/codecs
👌👌👌❤️

That was a grade professionally matched to replicate an Arri. Is was so different from the “better looking” because that clip was actually so bad…
@@JamieFenn Haha, I can understand that ;) Thx for you answer anyway
🤘🙏
And now, tell me how much this camera costs.
