Baroness’ John Baizley joins Kyle Meredith to talk about the band’s new album, Stone. The frontman discusses his penchant for short album titles in the likes of the first four Led Zeppelin albums, how his lyrics tell his own personal story with hopes that it relates to everyone’s own personal stories, and using genre and melody to get his point across. Baizley goes on to compliment Nick Cave, PJ Harvey, and Radiohead’s strong sense of self, seeing Sonic Youth and Nirvana as his first and second live shows, and finding his way after “being entirely lost” while making this new LP.

Stone is really good. I'm glad John brought back some harsher vocals and the album has an overall heavier sound.
Sonic Youth is one of my favorites. I wish I got to see them perform while they were active.
