Oh my, what a terrible time you're having! The aspiration pneumonia is the worst thing for Avery, along with the fever and potential for seizures. I'm so sorry that you were having to deal with their med errors, on top of everything else. That's just unacceptable. You definitely did the right thing to bring her home. Poor baby girl and poor mummy! I was so hoping that your trip to Little Harbor would still go through, as I know how fun that is for the family. I will be praying for sweet Avery. I’m so sorry three of you have Covid. I got it right before Thanksgiving. I really thought I had it, but tested negative for about five days. Finally getting the positive test confirmed it. Five weeks later I still have a bad cough. I’m sorry you are not feeling well for the holidays. I hope you guys get completely well as soon as possible!

Please don’t ever worry about is thinking it’s all negative updates when little one is poorly. I’m so shocked but not surprised about the hospital and glad you picked it up first. My daughter got viral meningitis at 11 months and her temperature went up to 41c it was extremely scary as she was unconscious for five days. She came out of it and had no long term effects but was misdiagnosed on a Sunday morning on the children’s ward as Gastrointestinal. It’s totally understandable about little harbour it sounds such a wonderful place for you all and hope you can go to stay soon and relax and have fun xx merry Christmas to you all and wishing you a happy new year xx

So after years of Stable disease I’m back to scans, tests and more treatment in the new year!! So hard when everyone else seems so happy and you are just struggling to feel positive! I am so sorry you are dealing with this. In the hospital where I work we have had deaths from COVID this time around and one was a pediatric death. So just be mindful that though it is treated as a bad cold or flu there are still those who are more immune suppressed and can have worse outcomes. It’s probably best that you did not go to Little Harbor this time. I think that is very responsible of you. I am so sorry that you are all going through this especially before Christmas. It is so aggravating when doctors and nurses will not listen. You know your child better than anyone. Hang in there! You are an awesome mom and it will pass as all the other times.
I don’t doubt it can still be dangerous for a lot of people, I’ve seen what a common cold can do to Avery and I definitely couldn’t have that on my confidence at little harbour. Thank you ❤️ the hospital certainly didn’t fill us with confidence this time xx
I don’t blame for taking Avery home. We have these same problems here in medical care here in America. You have to fight for your care or your loved one’s care. Never leave them alone if they can’t not speak for themselves.

I have a GJ tube & I was wondering if they spoke with you about that option that way if the feed going into her stomach is causing her to get the aspiration pneumonia. I see you did mention it as something you're in the talks with them about. Something to look into. Hope they can get this figured out for you soon. Ugh it pisses me off how nurses and doctors dismiss your knowledge! You know your child better than anyone. I know it sucks to be a "Karen" but sometimes you should because it's ridiculous that they treat you that way. I would file a complaint! Praying for Avery to feel better ❤

People are still getting Covid and dying from Covid..I take nothing for granted, and wear a mask around others. Why dry 02 AND not w/humidity!
Yes, you were keeping on top of things, ur urgency got her straightened out. Besides Gerd, Refux, LPR-Reflux, add vomiting, many issues to cause aspiration. You are her eyes, her voice, everything, keeps you busy.
Is avery not able to have covid vaccine because of her health issues im also trying to tighten my own precautions, as the antipsychotics that im on for severe mentsl issues work abit like steriods and can cause immune issues, i must admit i think hospitals since covid depenfing what uou go to a+e with if its minor you could be waiting 11 hours or longer so i go to our local UTC instead but the other werk i was waiting there 5 hours which wasent so bad id stomach pains releated to not eating ftuit veg enough liguid ,swollen tummy and they gave me paracetrmol prior to covid if i went yo hospital with mental heslth it maybe wasent case but i felt i was being made to wait longer cos of fact that mental heslth looked at as minor issue and if i asked how much longer is the wait i frlt that nurses didnt like it its wrong but i feel naturslly enough the children and elderly are priotised you know they put old people into bays where theres comfy beds, seperate areas for childrrn to wsit but no seperate areas for vunersble adults as i gave autidm i have meltdiwns in strange enviorments and when i have a meltdown urs eady for prople yo think you are bring angry and rude so i avoid a+e , would only go if ambulance took me in , the couple of times durind covid i went id desctibe the covid area of a +e a cross between tv programme holby city mash and ET very unnerving for domrone like me id gone with a cough the waiting section fir covid was a cold cortier it wasent yet dpring it was cold out at night thed door open in dark not much staff about had to keep mask on they fidnt ket you know what was hsppening a doctor saw me thed done a bloid test it was begative for covid so i said im going home they wouldnt let me go vack to nain oart to ting taxi i said why im begative ah yes but you came eith covid sympyons that id had for 2 days it was at start if lovk down do if ud had covid it eould have developed quickly cos of no immunity to it , taxi service near hospital wouldnt do journey as id no money up front only grabbed some for journey to hospital even though i said theres money at home, do someone rang taxi service for me near to where im live and they came to fo the run which i was grateful for hospital could have solved that by paying for taxi i just got impression thst they were just priotising covid children and elderly , so that was my last visit to A+E eveybody knows me at my local centre

COVID Is not just treated like a cold in the U.S.A. ! We still treat it like we did in 2020.
Life goes on here in the UK now, you can still go to school and work xx
I feel we have relaxed quite a bit in USA since 2020. I wish we weren’t so relaxed honestly.

I got covid and had to cancel a party, so I get the disappointment. So sorry your hospital stay was fraught with mistakes. That’s scary, but good job parents keeping a close eye out! Hope you all feel much better soon and have a happy Christmas. 🎄 ❤

You really don’t need to apologise for feeling down, with everything you go through everyday it’s understandable that you were looking forward to a break away from home! But as they say Sh*t happens! You all being on the mend is the main thing!
I’m happy to join your pity party as I was told a couple of weeks ago that my Stage 4 Breast Cancer is active again! So after years of Stable disease I’m back to scans, tests and more treatment in the new year!! So hard when everyone else seems so happy and you are just struggling to feel positive!

With aspiration pneumonia, it is usually due to aspirating vomite or food, fluid,. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas. Get better soon. I had 2 babies in hospital very sick Dec 1986. My son was only a month old, my daughter 16 months for 2 wks.

I am so sorry you are dealing with this. In the hospital where I work we have had deaths from COVID this time around and one was a pediatric death. So just be mindful that though it is treated as a bad cold or flu there are still those who are more immune suppressed and can have worse outcomes. It’s probably best that you did not go to Little Harbor this time. I think that is very responsible of you. I am so sorry that you are all going through this especially before Christmas. It is so aggravating when doctors and nurses will not listen. You know your child better than anyone. Hang in there! You are an awesome mom and it will pass as all the other times.
I don’t doubt it can still be dangerous for a lot of people, I’ve seen what a common cold can do to Avery and I definitely couldn’t have that on my confidence at little harbour. Thank you ❤️ the hospital certainly didn’t fill us with confidence this time xx
I don’t blame for taking Avery home. We have these same problems here in medical care here in America. You have to fight for your care or your loved one’s care. Never leave them alone if they can’t not speak for themselves.

When I was in hospital for cancer surgery this year I had to check my medication every single time

My son had the Fundoplication and it was a lifesaver! And my other son had a J tube. I think it would help her a lot.
I’m happy to hear positive experiences, we are yet to speak to the surgeon but are seriously considering it xx

I have a GJ tube & I was wondering if they spoke with you about that option that way if the feed going into her stomach is causing her to get the aspiration pneumonia. I see you did mention it as something you're in the talks with them about. Something to look into. Hope they can get this figured out for you soon. Ugh it pisses me off how nurses and doctors dismiss your knowledge! You know your child better than anyone. I know it sucks to be a "Karen" but sometimes you should because it's ridiculous that they treat you that way. I would file a complaint! Praying for Avery to feel better ❤

I would make a complaint into pals it’s not right that they gave medication 💊 wrong twice after you sorting it out the first time mistakes can happen but not twice
We did get a pals leaflet we’ve got so many grievances so we need to put a big complaint in really xx

100% COVID is still killing people, I am seeing it in my job, never should you be going to an event around people knowing you have COVID, good call
Even a common cold can make Avery very poorly so I really didn’t want to pass this on to another vulnerable child xx
Looks pretty sick, needs hospitization, I can hear the aspiration. Children turn suddenly for the worst, unresponsive. Aspiration pneumonia scares me, I've seen the worst.
People are still getting Covid and dying from Covid..I take nothing for granted, and wear a mask around others. Why dry 02 AND not w/humidity!
She did get very poorly very quickly but we avoided a seizure by taking her to hospital when we did xx
Yes, you were keeping on top of things, ur urgency got her straightened out. Besides Gerd, Refux, LPR-Reflux, add vomiting, many issues to cause aspiration. You are her eyes, her voice, everything, keeps you busy.
Is avery not able to have covid vaccine because of her health issues im also trying to tighten my own precautions, as the antipsychotics that im on for severe mentsl issues work abit like steriods and can cause immune issues, i must admit i think hospitals since covid depenfing what uou go to a+e with if its minor you could be waiting 11 hours or longer so i go to our local UTC instead but the other werk i was waiting there 5 hours which wasent so bad id stomach pains releated to not eating ftuit veg enough liguid ,swollen tummy and they gave me paracetrmol prior to covid if i went yo hospital with mental heslth it maybe wasent case but i felt i was being made to wait longer cos of fact that mental heslth looked at as minor issue and if i asked how much longer is the wait i frlt that nurses didnt like it its wrong but i feel naturslly enough the children and elderly are priotised you know they put old people into bays where theres comfy beds, seperate areas for childrrn to wsit but no seperate areas for vunersble adults as i gave autidm i have meltdiwns in strange enviorments and when i have a meltdown urs eady for prople yo think you are bring angry and rude so i avoid a+e , would only go if ambulance took me in , the couple of times durind covid i went id desctibe the covid area of a +e a cross between tv programme holby city mash and ET very unnerving for domrone like me id gone with a cough the waiting section fir covid was a cold cortier it wasent yet dpring it was cold out at night thed door open in dark not much staff about had to keep mask on they fidnt ket you know what was hsppening a doctor saw me thed done a bloid test it was begative for covid so i said im going home they wouldnt let me go vack to nain oart to ting taxi i said why im begative ah yes but you came eith covid sympyons that id had for 2 days it was at start if lovk down do if ud had covid it eould have developed quickly cos of no immunity to it , taxi service near hospital wouldnt do journey as id no money up front only grabbed some for journey to hospital even though i said theres money at home, do someone rang taxi service for me near to where im live and they came to fo the run which i was grateful for hospital could have solved that by paying for taxi i just got impression thst they were just priotising covid children and elderly , so that was my last visit to A+E eveybody knows me at my local centre
Sadly I hear of a lot of A & Es like this, Avery has open access to our paediatric assessment unit so we don’t need to go to A&E with her luckily xx
