Cool guitar, does anyone know if the pick-ups are similar to the Gibson mini-humbuckers like on les paul Deluxe? I have seen Epiphones with those style pickups before like the "Sheraton and Riviera" and some solid bodies. They look identical from the out-side...but what's under those covers?
No, they are single coils, also mini-humbuckers had some variations in construction, the ones that were made between 1961 to 1967 varied in the wire material (from plain enamel copper wire to poly coated copper wire) and they had long magnets, probably alnico 5, in 1968, they changed the long magnets to short magnets, and that were the mini-humbuckers of the Les Paul Deluxe, that sounded closer to strat o to firebird pickups than to earlier mini-humbuckers.
They got bought out. But yeah the EZER was an over the top monster. My friend has one, I think its a little newer but it looks rediculous in a good way. I like that old Dodge transmission pickup selector for sure
Wow i always dreamt of one of those, or at least a one pickup model with that new yorker pickup - but that sounds quite disappointing for my taste - might be the amp, cant see it.
Smashing demonstration!!! I guess back in 1953 Epiphone was trying to corner the market between a Gibson L5 and a Fender Telecaster .
That wonderful, unmistakable out-of-phase sound, right off the bat! Wow. And LOTS of other great guitar sounds. Wow. Nice playing, of course ...
That guitar is a tone monster! One press of a button and it’s a totally different beast. JD is sublime as always.
I sincerely hope these performances expose more people to the incredibly talented JD Simo. If he comes to your town, you have to see him
Great playing from Simo ...as usual! Great content guys!
JD...still killin it.
When a Carter Vintage Guitars video with JD Simo written in the title pops up in my thread I know it's gonna be good, and boy was I right
What great playing with such a cool guitar!
Now you can see and hear why Epiphone was Gibson's biggest competitor.
Only old Epi can b this super duper tone ever!
I heard a snippet of Barbara’s Lair !Great playing .
Great demo by a great player. And the price seems very reasonable for a piece that clean.
I think Albert Collins had one of these before the Tele
I don't like 3 pickup guitars... but I wouldn't hate that quack at my disposal. Excellent vid as always
Those Air Force 1s though! 🤘🤌🤙

Sensacional
Why did they stop making these? Pedal heads way ahead of their time, button guitar guys

👍👍👍👍
This looks like something Kid Ramos plays.
If only I had a third kidney.. 😔
Did not know that Jurgen could play that good

Jonah Hill’s looking well.
